Gotta ask what the paint code is??? Im finishing up a Numbers Matching Frame Off 73 Z/28, im hung up on paint color and cant help but admire your shade of Blue!!! Can you help me out?
@seegeer21 ..... That IS a dang shame !! Maybe you can get another .... But it's all good ... But can I ask what is a 1501 st .... Was that a typo ... Thanks
Someone got some bad info saying it's a 70 1/2 because of the splits ...... For one, there's no such thing as a 70 1/2 check the VIN .... and two, it can be a 70-73 camaro if it's an RS pkg ...they all (RS's) have splits.... At least that's what my "History of the Chevrolet Camaro" book says ..... Jus sayin
@theindycamaro I had a the 1501 st camaro built in 1970. it was an rsss car. i had often heard people refer to it as a "1970 1/2" but that was not an official title, it was just released a half a year later than normal. I sold the car for 2500 bucks. it was all numbers matching, 4 speed muncie, 12bolt rear, and only had 19132 original miles on it but it was a rust bucket when i sold it. its a damn shame but wife complained, code enforcement officer fined me , it was time to sell
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree

Hey nice looking car. But you ain't got shit for horsepower. I thought when you reved it the front end would at least start to twist some. "All show and no go"....
Car goes 11.90s at 112 on slicks. (no bottle) Since when is body movement a linear equation for horsepower? I would be willing to bet you have never made a pass down the 1320.
Evidently you've never driven a very early second gen camaro, if you did then you would know that they have extremely stiff race inspired front suspensions.
are you kidding me bud? You cant see the car shaking when he revs it? get your eyes checked dude. We have a Lincoln with a 6.6L in it, its got shit horse power but the front end twists like a mother fucker. You cant really judge a cars horsepower on whether or not the front end twists when you rev it.
@jungletiger911: Hey dipshit - the car did move when he revved it, but it's not gonna "twist" until it's in gear putting torque to the ground, you stupid fucking ricer.
@soyounoat My 79' trans Am with 400 Big Block, built, was pushing 450 plus ft of torque. Ran 12.9. I could see the front end slightly "twist"/"rock" while I revved it in park. I was hitting 0 - 60 in 4.8 seconds.
I have a 70 ss that has split bumper like that, no she's not a convetion from rs to ss shes an authentic ss, very rare with the split bumper only made the first half of 1970, before she got hit she was in ok condition was gonna fix her up, now im lookin for a body shop. check out my page, its listed in my videos
Hi the so called split bumper is part of the the Rally Sport option-which was available from 1970 to 1973. A common misconception is that it was for 70 only. The Rally Sport was just a trim option and could be ordered with a preformance package (SS or Z as this one was or by it's self)
I used to drive one of these. It had duel Cherry bombs on the exhaust and air shocks. I had to keep pumping them up because there was a leak. But it was fun to drive.
well 1972 was a rare year the workers at the ohio plant went on strike 1,200 didnt make the 73 bumper laws and were scrapped and the same with 72 trans gm wanted to drop the camaro and trans am then.
yah but they still scraped a bunch cuz it didnt meet the 73 bumper laws only some got through but it was a bad year for gm cuz the workers were going on strike and that this didnt meet the 73 bumper laws so they lost alot of money but hey wats a little strip of crome across the front gonna do? lol
its called rs/ss not ss with split bumbers haha

@jungletiger911 if it were to twist, it would be an indication of torque, not horsepower.
