ang on a minute chaps , your garage doesnt put a hose on properly , it blows off and loses coolant , engine overheats and dies and that is he cars fault ? sorry but i hope you did go back to the garage and kicked up a storm over that one . also there is a temperature gauge . i personally run a 98 300tdi es disco which i love and its only let me down once when the water pump went at 3am and it still got me another 10 miles to civilisation with a little care . and still goes well today .

No matter what vehicle one owns, proper maintenance will ensure it lasts forever. If you can't handle the idea of taking care of something and changing the oil, coolant, and transmission fluid as a very basic necessity and put tape over a check engine light to "fix" it then buy a Honda and stop commenting.

People who take care of their Rovers on the LandRoversOnly forum report over 300K miles in droves and they still run perfect. Crap engines? Crap cars? No. More like crap owners.

my 99 landrover discovery 2 slipped a cylinder liner! engine destroyed due to it overheating on the way home from picking it up from Rocklin Land Rover and they did not slip radiator hose on all the way! It was just barely on and it slipped off causing engine to overheat! never allow your rover to overheat!!!!!!!!!!
