At least it had a really touching ending to wrap it all up (I'm not talking about the sex scene). It made me forgive everything I didn't like about his writing style, which was really confusing for me. Important events would often be told in a sentence or two when they should have been paragraphs long.
@RawMeat3000 Yeah it was an alright book, it has it's moment, but there are some really slow parts that just really take you away from the book, and it was just weird how the last scene came about, it wasn't really built up to properly in my opinion.
Good review but u couldve explained the fact that u like action over facts but when grabbing most of ur points i think its more for people who are interested in the story not just the action
@TheChurch29 it's because the story is weak I couldn't really justify talking about it. That's why the only thing really good about this book is seeing Johnson in action in my opinion.
Personally I loved Contact Harvest but I can understand why it has gotten mixed reception. It's not really for everybody. I guess my brother in law being a soldier had something to do with my immersion. Now the only part of the book I absolutely hated was the chapter explaining space travel. Sweet Jesus that chapter was boring. I felt that Staten was trying to make the Brutes out to be savages with no real morality, honor, or culture. They're supposed to be the neanderthals of the Covenant.
