i have seen this trick in person there and it aint a magnetic bolt or anything they are allll solid. i thought it was before i went and it wasnt because i tried to pull it apart haha.

you can see him switch the bolt when he pretends to toss it to his other hand where he already has the normal bolt

The Nut is really in 2 parts, and magnetically sticks together. when it is placed in the card and wood you just slide the card out right in between the 2 parts. They stick together still as you slide it because of the magnets. case closed :)
