This is a clever method of putting across a gay message against discrimination and persecution. In a peaceful protest, gays are showing up the prejudice and bigotry that the Mormon church is promoting. Also, it should be remembered that there are many Mormons who do not support the hate policies of the church theocracy in Salt Lake City.
Anyone who wants to help support the fight for equality in California can go the website of Equality California. It is the largest statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights advocacy organization in California. Just look it up on Google.
I find it almost hypocritical that all these gays are protesting an entire church being openly anti-homosexual when there are a large majority of them that are completely anti-anyone that doesn't agree with gays. Whether you are a gay or not, this was a publicity stunt. They walked onto private property and pulled a move they knew they would get called out for. I don't hate gays, but I do love me some justice.
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have successfuly framed themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
I agree with pianoplayingmormon, mostly because I, myself am a mormon. I also respect the choices of the homosexuals, but again, all choices come with consequences. Only my thoughts, don't hate me for it.
God may have created an Adam and maybe a guy named Steve, but in the beginning of creation, don't you think He put Adam and Eve together for a reason? This was to show that Man and Woman are meant to be together. Not man and man or woman and woman. I respect peoples choices and I will never be hateful or mean to a homosexual. It is their life choice. I may not always agree but.. God also gave us the gift of choosing, and that present comes with consequences good and bad.
Tolerance and equality.. lol.. its private property if they don't want you doing what ever you are doing, they have the right to ask you to leave. LOL I am fairly sure if you went to some GLBT organization head quarters and started teaching the word of Christ they would ask you to leave... LOL.. Why can't he GLBT community be a bit more tolerant of other peoples believes.. I guess the next thing is peta people are going to yell at me for eating meat.. oh wait they have.. lol..
@MichaelMantion because their the biggest hypocrites... My grandpa been a member of that church for along time and i can insure you they are not bigots.. Just more lies from the gay community...
@MichaelMantion I have a feeling the LGBT community would be perfectly happy to allow anyone else to believe whatever they want if those beliefs weren't instituted by law in the form of discrimination. LOL
All about tolerance? wrong answer once again. We are taught to love all people but tolerate everything they do? nope. absolutely not. An ordrerly society requires rules and laws. Not in the commandments? Try the sermon on the mount, the higher law and the current Prophet and Apostles and read your scriptures. Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind, it is an abomination. Try Romans 1:27 or 1 Tim 1:10 or Jude 1:7 and 5 or 10 more if you would like me to list them.
Yea! Let's kiss in front of their temple! Yea, that'll show them!!!
Lol these people are so clueless it's hilarious. Nobody cares, their just wasting their time. Their not trying to convince anyone, just anger people. And those are always protests for the wrong reasons.
I'm not sure why gays object to a church having a code of conduct on their private property. If I go to a Hindu temple, I'm going to leave my beef at home, so when gays cross Mormon church property, they can wait and kiss and grope eachother somewhere else. It's none of your business what the church allows on it's property.
@brian8793 By the way, I DO think that charity is a very honorable thing. I support the giving to those less fortunate than ourselves. And just think, I didn't need a scriptute to tell me that. LOL
@brian8793 Eating a good brand yogurt with plenty of probiotics actually counters these effects you speak of. Yes, one can have coffee , but every person on the planet should be eating things for their digestive support as well. Probiotics are a fantastic thing, indeed. No need to worry about coffee then.
@brian8793 That's a physical thing that cost LOTS & LOTS of money to produce. It was produced with a monetary drive that made it happen. Could not have happened without money. Seriously, are you still so convinced "that" means or proves "love" ?
@brian8793 It doesn't escape the fact that humans are tribal, that they form groups & CONTINUE to compete, as we always HAVE & always WILL. The pure lack of will on the part of ALL religious organizationsto come to a universal truth furthers the obvious " Us against THEM " behavior that we ALL naturally display. One cannot stop what comes natural, or what is in their nature to DO. The fact that you've probably never noticed this is even more reason to undertsand that this behavior comes natural.
@brian8793 I would ask you to disprove that your organization does not believe it's the "best". ALL humans compete on all levels of life- Politically, socially, ethnically, racially, RELGIOUSLY, morally, sexually, physically, geographically, monetarily, educationally, etc etc etc. The tendancy for "Us against THEM" is already set up in our DNA due to evolution. This is tribal behavior, and your "WE are the perfect organization" submission actually supports the info that humans evolved. Rebuttal?
@brian8793 Because of the fact that your organization is perfect, and you compare it to the " Others", This is typical "Us againast THEM" behavior. Did you even realize that you are behaving this way ? > The point > All things in nature compete, compare, divide, and separate. From the smallest microbes, to the largest creatures in the sea, all living things compete. We are definately part of this equation. Did you know that ? Your definition of "your" organization proves the behvaior I decsribe.
@brian8793 Here's a challenge for you, are you up to it ? Go to any Islamic you tube video, like " Islamic Miracles", or "Islam is the true path" or just search, read what they are saying and give them your slant on god from your view point.and debate with them. As a atheist, I find it interesting in pointing out what I think as "the obvious" (Humans being tribal) to all religions and reading the responses. I think the leaders & scholars of all religions should work out the facts, don't you ?
@brian8793 Honestly, yours in in that equation with the rest. I notice that there is a large contingent of religions that belive the others will go to hell for not being on the same page as them. -Baisically they believe that the others are on the same level as atheism because "god" gave them them the chance to come to "their" religion because they " knew" this other religion existed. This is the irony of it all> Humans form groups & compete on ALL levels of life, just as nature does. = Evolution
@brian8793 Yeah, but WHY is it that ALL religions underlying mission statement is " Other religions are teaching / preaching false doctrine, WE are the way " ???
I think this proves that humans form groups & naturally compete,as they always HAVE, just one of the hallmarks of evolutionary behavior, wouldn't you say ?
@PampersPete A Mormon guy at work approached my a year ago as I was having my morning coffee. The person wasn't saying that. You don't take your rights to the ballot box. It defeats the whole purpose of having Constitutional, guaranteed rights. The whole purpose of inalienable individual rights, is that one can lose a popularity contest, and still retain rights.
Fascinating how your interests and hobbies are reflected in your rhetoric, passion easily overrules objectivity. Perhaps in the Netherlands, democracy differs from the U.S., where a majority vote becomes the law. As for shame; being ignorant is not so much a shame as being unwilling to learn.
'Summersonset,' this is intriguing; intolerant, bigot, hate-monger, racist and yes, hypocrite all has one definition: 'You have an opposing view.' Prop8 passed by a margin of 52.3% to 47.7%; a margin of 599,601 votes: 7,001,084 to 6,401,483. Total Mormon population in CA; 761,763. You're right, about Property rights for the most part, however, I'd like to ask this; suppose this happened at a restaurant, or a store. The owner has every right to make the rules, but you can guarantee a lawsuit will come out of it, especially if they can prove that it was fueled by Racism, Discrimination, Intolerance, etc.
The area that the couple was at was open to the public, it was after they kissed when everything began, if they sue, I'll bet they'll be able to prove discrimination.
'Aflunky' you are absolutely right. Racism it was not, intolerance is indefensible and/or not written into law, however, if it was discrimination and is proven to be true in a court of law, penalties must be paid. Reports site, that the young men where advised of the rules and asked to vacate the grounds, they refused and law enforcement was called. Rules stand for 'ALL.' It's up to the two individuals whether they want to take this into litigation or not.
This could be the new way to chase Mormons away when they stop me as I'm walking down the street. I'll just grab my friend, bend him over and start dry humping him......LMAO! No more Mormons :-D
