A time when music video didn't have to have 50 different sceneries & 1000 back up dancers and booty shorts, girls washing cars in their bikinis just to get people to watch and the sensless lyrics that they have now. Oh, The simple days i am seeing it to be and wish it was, and im just a 1984 baby.
yes she sure does have talent, and it's ashame that so many have been squeezed into the same mold. many would scoff at the notion of there being someone molding human affairs. yet, for some reason, things only get worse, not better. why is that? but to keep it simple, like my German friend said, she sure does have talent and quietly so.
The only person that understand whats going on is the black guy dancing.Look at the expressions on the white women faces, not wanting their men to look.
This is one of my favorite oldies. I used to sing it with a brush as a mike when I was a kid. I even had an accident singing so hard, I had my eyes closed. lol I love this song!
Oh yea...She will be performing June 18th, 2011 @ the Dunkin Donuts Ctr...Providence, RI...Along with the Tavares, GQ, The Trammps, D-Train, Taste of Honey, Linda Crawford,France Jolie, Evelyn Champagne King & Chic
@GeorgiaDivaKrissy this song never got the attention that it truly deserved. I was only in my early teens when I heard this and I've always loved it. On top of that, Ms. Linda is a great vocalist! I think Donna Summer was so popular around that time that everyone forgot all the other artists out there! LOL
@nazreyes Yeah last year when i was in chorus my sub chorus teacher told me something that made sense to me and what i kinda already knew. Artist use artist that we never heard of so that we can think that everything is original. And all artist do sample off of the same thing... so it is what it is.. Good music nees good music to servive
@rufus317 that's the point i'm making, though. It should've gone POP, too. I think this song was too scary to play in pop radio back then LOL Even "Red Light" from FAME didn't go pop and Fame was a popular movie back then! Ms. Linda got robbed!!! ;)

It's really sad that so many young people on here can only compare her to Beyonce which is their only reference point. The comparison goes only as far as skin complexion. Many sistas looked like this in the 1970's disco era. It was a common look. Beyonce did not look to Linda Clifford as Linda Clifford was not that huge. She had great hits and this was her biggest but Beyonce is Beyonce. Linda is Linda. I am sad that Beyonce is the standard for this generation, the biz has left no room 4 others.
@HaliB75 I played this EVERYDAY when I was growing up back in the late 70's! Love the Jones Girls back up vocals! This song was the bomb back in the day especially in the clubs back then! BEYONCE? What does she have to do with this woman? Linda had some hits like you said but she did it back then and Bey does it now I suppose for this generation!
...who the hell put her on a fountain ?? WTF...and everybody's standing around staring at her like ??? Should've shot it "LIVE AT THE PARADISE GARAGE" or in THE LOFT !
THIS SONG WAS THE JAM BACK IN 1978!!! I First heard this song when i was 11 years old at prospect park when my family was out for a picnic and this was my old school jam every since. I miss the 70's soo much it was the best time to be alive to hear real music.
Where did my favorite song go by you Linda? "Shoot Your Best shot" Did to many Caucasians take the words literally causing you to take it down or something
Please put it back up. That was my favorite of all songs back in 1980 when I wasl listening to it on WOOK" Washington D.C.
ooohhhhh, first time iam seeing this video of her, specially this song, ive got her 12 inch of this song what a tune??? just amazing tune what a beat with great voice, she was so beautiful, thanx for the video, funk algeriaaaaaaaaaa

@edwinachikere Where is my favorite song by Linda? It used to bae here. "Shoot your best shot!" Did to many people take the words literally causing her to take the song down? that was my favorite jam in 1980 when I was living in Chocolate city and listening to WOOK
I'm so glad I found this video. When I was 12 years old, I chose this song to lip sync to and act out for my drama class assignment. I was spunky then and I'm still as spunky and sassy as ever. Wow that was 30 years ago. OMG I'm almost 43 hahahaa
