Just downloaded the game to my iPhone to relive some of my childhood years... And for those confused as to why Chrono Trigger has Dragon Ball-esque animation, it was drawn by the same person who did DBZ, Akira Toriyama.

Don't know... I like the most the original SFC Sound Version... There's something that is lacking here... It's good that PSX version had anime cutscenes, but some voices would have come great to them. (OK, voices in videogames weren't that common those days...)

So, wait. HOW many remakes does this game have? & any of 'em as good or better than the SNES original? Or all they did add flashy pseudo anime cut scenes? 'Cause I hear the writing in the 1st still better, despite the 'extra content' in DS game.

@ZGuy0fSci There is one remake, but its on several consoles. The Playstation one was simply a port, and a terrible one at that. The new version has BETTER dialogue, but whether or not thats a good thing is up to you. The DS version has other extras, but they in no way interact with your game, unless you want them to.

The anime scenes can all be skipped. They are FMVs of events in the game, that play just before the ingame cutscene does. So they can be ignored.

SNES doesn't have animated cut scenes. PS has animated cutscenes but the music was slightly altered from the original version, and it doesn't sound as good.

DS has the original, untampered music from the SNES game, PLUS animated cut scenes, plus a new ending and bonus chapter. Not to mention it's portable. DS all the way!

@pro1chevelleSS After Final Fantasy 7, Square went way down hill. They made a good game here and there (Vagrant Story, FF9, Chrono Cross) but then, by FFX, they were HORRIBLE.

Chrono Trigger is one of their best.

@LordDarkshayde FAR FAR better. FF8 was god awful from top to bottom, from art direction to story to characters to battle system, the trading cards, the world design, just...EVERYTHING. FF9 was a nice throwback to FFVI and prior, and told a decent story. And its job system was much cleaner than FF8 (never got too into the sidequests though). And Vagrant Story was a nice throwback to dungeon crawling RPGs. They were ok good.

And Chrono Cross was the game I wanted FF8 to be.
