Young Federer and virtually all his contemporaries... including Roddick were like Ninja's on the court with very competitive mindsets... and if one could develop a time machine and bring back these younger versions to play against the nadal's and murrays and djokovics of today... it would be a massacre.

@wulfuchiha lol this nalbandian is similar to djokovic today in his form hitting hard on both wings, except that djokovic kept his focus and wins more games. People clearly don't see federer's competitors because he won all the time in his prime.

@wulfuchiha there is no way Roddick/Hewitt/Nalbandian are a better group than Djokovic/Nadal. No Way. A young inexperienced Nadal was playing compitively vs Hewitt. Federer's era was definately strong but the likes of Roddick and Hewitt would not "massacre" Nadal and Djokovic.

I miss those old style matches.

People say that there weren't many great players at this period (except federer) but I disagree. Nalbandian, Hewitt, Safin, Agassi could make matches far more enjoyable to watch than nowadays top players, with great pace and very aggressive play.

Look at all the confrontations Federer/Nalbandian and Federer/Safin (especially AO 2005). amazingly high level

@69wiwi69 These aren't really old style matches, the technology hasn't changed drastically, it's the same baseline play that dominates the game today. Both Nal and Fed were just at their peak speed and movement here.
