I would never have bought one of these things myself, but I got one for Christmas, and it does work better than a blanket for me in certain situations, but it's not something you'd ever wear outside. Basically, it's great if: you currently live in the northeast the time of year - when you get out of bed, you initially feel freezing, and in about a half hour your body adjusts to the temperature, but it's great during that time when you're trying to use a computer or play video games.
