It's steadily steep up the cutting, I spend a lot of time relaxing there with the camera, but this beats a 159 flattening the climb alright! Good, clean footage, did you hang about for the next unit!
lol you couldnt go chasing two trains all at once, you just gotta choose which one to get. Although I did catch Tornado at Grateley but my shot got screwed up, which was a big disapointment, so my fellow grizer drove me to Milborne Port to get Tangmere, which proved better.
Another faultless production Ryan, and you chose the perfect location for it. I enjoyed every minute, and great driving from the footplate as well...5* Bob
Hehe, cheers Bob. It was fun getting Tangmere at this point, 'cause when I heard her slip I had a feeling she might get stuck but she managed to make it up well (without a diesel to assist!)
Although after all this was taken I had to face the wrath of the farmer for going near 'his property'.
With Tornado and Clan Line both running on the Southern this day i had to give Tangmere a miss. But you've captured it perfectly. Well done a most enjoyable piece. 5*
Cheers Martyn, I did get Tornado at a bridge west of Grateley but unfortunatley there was so many people were I was, it was literally impossible to get a shot of her with everyone shouting and calling out. But with Tangmere which was really fun to get.
Great video. Good location with the light pacific pushed to its limits.
Gotta say my heart was in my mouth when the vid started with her slipping - knowing what Bullieds are like uphill! Fine recovery by a v good driver!! Is the gradient steeper on that part of the climb before the bridge or was she pulling away from a standing start/signal slow down?
Ah ha, well I do try and get to the best location spots to go to even if it means travelling pretty far. It shouldn't be long untill I drive a car, then I'l get around places more. Cheers Glen!
excellant video 5*

All you need is rain and speed and you've got a Turner painting. :)
Wonder what it's like standing on the bridge when the train passes underneath. Curious, even though someone might say a filthy mess.

Great vid, superb quality, love the plume of smoke staying right above the train after the bridge, there can't have been a breath of wind.
