I'am going to be honest the Daleks don't scare me at all (then again there are not to many monsters in Dr who and in other Sci fi shows and movies that do scare me) but that dosen't mean that I don't think they are awesome and can be a real threat, but not really scary.

ive since found that out, having caught some of "Confidential" here on YT (since my dvd seems to have issues *rolls eyes*) but again... production values and all. it was apparently a rare thing anyway, since stairs and the like werent often introduced as an obstacle (for obvious reasons). as to the new series, i suppose its a "to each their own" thing. i started with CE as "my" Doctor, but i enjoy all forms done so far, and have high hopes for the team coming in ^_^

Absolutely true, this. By themselves the Daleks are admittedly cool looking dustbins, but with Nick Briggs voice and Murray Gold's music they are the most terrifying thing on Telly along with their counterparts the Cybermen. Well done there!
