  • The Sherman was a death trap, but apparently the best tank the Allies had. The Germans were so far ahead of the Allies in armored technology it was sick. Our guys could only die bravely when up against the Tiger tanks.

  • @fliegeroh Wasn't the Tiger Tank a failure tank though? would get easily stuck on mud, could basically only move through roads, was extremely costly, difficult to repair. Ergonomically a bad tank.

  • Patton you children fu....

  • Is all US television aimed at five year olds or something?

  • @7th75thCallaghan why are you watching it then? go fuck off

  • @Gruppenfuhrer1944 I gladly had until you brought me back here with your pointless comment. At least mine was relevant to the video. You go wank over your tank porn now.

  • This is not documentary, this is a televised US circle jerk, like most 'documentaries' that come out of that country.

  • coman...

  • coman...

  • You can talk what you want but Germany was super power. Their soldiers were so brave, I say this after few hundreds watched videos of Wehrmacht. How many states needed to defeat one Germany? 5, 6, 7, 10, 20? Heil Deutschland!

  • what does D-day sand for again i took it in history but forgot LOL i remember i took in a exam

    What does D-day stand for

    a) Dooms-day

    b) Destiny-day

    c) Defeat-day

    d) Destroy-day

    xD

  • @tareqbatarni

    decision day

  • the only thing americans can in a war is boming all in shit and run away from a real battle

  • @MaxPayne719 and what does germany do? the only war ever lost was to the Vietnamese and that only happened because they had russia giving them and unlimited supply of guns and ammo

  • @4jrod44

surely? okay, remember ww2, Hamburg and Dresden , only bombing civilains with fire bombs and etc, north corea, the same , vietnam, the same , iraq same and in all these wars , i not think that the usa is the "victorius" power

  • @MaxPayne719 bombing civilians is one way of breaking the countries morale which will cause the people to want the war to be over faster which in turn causes less support from the people

  • @MaxPayne719 If you think the US spent the entire war doing nothing bombing civilians, you're clueless.

  • @MaxPayne719 are you aware that the US Airforce lost thousands of airmen over germany because they were flying during the day, trying to hit industrial targets? the brits were the one that carpedbombed the civilians during nighttime.

  • @heldgop

airmen are at least soldiers too, so they know the possibilty to die, civilians arent

puh but think what you want, no folk on the world like you. but stop care about that

  • The Airborne said they never needed rescuing, Patton's Third Army say they rescued the 101st, what do you think?

  • F@ck hitler he was an idiot I'm glad he is dead along with his wack ass army rest in piss hitler

  • @Marine4crts

    Bastard children f......

  • And please don't jump on me now. I just told my point of view.

  • history channel means shit. Too much american propaganda. Why can'y they simply tell the real story... the simple way it happend. I am tired of "Hitler was bad", "We finally won" bla bla bla. They can simply tell just Hitler. Why they add "Bad", "Criminal" etc words ? My Gosh ... What a shitty channel with documentaries that worth shit !

  • @NissuTSX well said, very true.

  • Well WTF do you expect? Fucking Stuart against King Tiger? Jesus Christ some people are as dumb as hayseeds.

  • @Pfsif Where can I see that?

  • @kingtiger009 That's basically what they did to the 101st Airborne, but they still lost.

  • This would be a lot more enjoyable without the narrator, who sounds like he should be announcing at a monster truck rally.

  • @williamlasl

The whole thing stinks of sensationalism, really. The history channel programs with British narrators seem to just present the facts, but the American programming always has to ooze with "USA, USA!"

  • Historians quoting historians, does anybody every go to original source documentation?

  • ok germans should atleast do a pincer manuver but i guess idiot

hitler wanted bastonge too much another reason why the germans

    lost

  • @kingtiger009 the war was lost long before this battle :)

  • Hahahahahahahahaha a sherman up against a kingtiger woohoohoohahaha

yeah right i eat those for breakfest lunch and dinner with a side dish of soviet,

french, chinese, and american and also german on World of tanks

  • Was this filmed with a potatoe?

  • this isn't documentary, we have a Patton fans club and they made a show about him. documentary my ass.

  • Worst show ever! It doesnt even deserve a title of a "documentary''!

  • The allied command murdered Patton... Just how the US Gov't say thank you...

  • The 'History' channel is short of historical reality

  • pfff alied m4 shermans im a tiger and i eat m4's with no milk

  • это же русский флаг - за нацистов русским надо было воевать ! хотя совки - это рабы жыдов - это не русские!

  • надо убивать сионистских зог-ветеранов жыдофильных :-).

  • The dumbass fucking Nazi knew the war was over. It was just a matter of WHEN!

  • Hitler was a penis. And fucking with the 101st is like grabbing a Cobra by the tail.

  • @skudaarkaat1 LOL - they can just thank God that the Germans fucked up and waited to long. Once the sky cleared allied air power won the day..

  • @skudaarkaat1 penis who fucked american army like pussy

  • @luka2298 You LOST, you Nazi FUCK!

  • @luka2298 did y mean the other way around?

  • That one soldier snyder or something really pisses me off just seems so one mided

  • @TheOwie15 soldiers are closed minded. thats why theyre soldiers. they follow orders.

  • Read books. These TV shows will never be as thorough as a good book on history.

  • @sissonsk reading and thinking is difficult ;) modern audience prefer easy to digest McHistoric dosuments, filled with new-year-like firweorks and rednecks cowboys comments "hey watch me!" etc. blah.

  • eydolph hytler^^

  • Patton was a bastard, he was lucky cause germans was busy with rusians..

  • @astrolopitequs23 And the Americans were also busy with the Japanese 4,000 miles away

  • BATTLE OF THE BULGE is still continuing at burger joints across America.

  • @KoochyWoochy That stopped being funny in the 60's.

  • Sensationalized rubbish. OTT editing, cheesy, simplistic narration. Perfect fodder for FOX News watching rednecks.

  • @Danny77uk Fox news watching rednecks? Are you black or muslim? I would rather be watching fox news , than the liberal , food stamp giving stations.

  • These shows are entertaining but hardly a source of accuracy. Read a book or two if you want to learn anything.

  • @sissonsk Yes, I just got finished "The Rise and Fall of the THird Reich" by William L. Shirer. A very precise and informative boook. I recomnd it to anyone who loves history. I am reading "The Germans in Normandy" and so far it is very good. The German LAnsder explains often about the air and material superiority during the invasion of the allies , but they still fight on.

  • Harry Feinburg a German . Some of America's best soldiers were German ancestry

  • Even Patton stated after the war , that America had fought on the wrong side .

  • @DemocraticOrder I think its good that we are allies now. But it would be better if every American thinks we arent Nazis.(Im German)

  • @Baconmaster92 Yes, that's the most important thing, we are allies. I promise you not all Americans think of Hitler and Nazi when Germany is mentioned. The German people have contributed a whole lot of technologies and scientific progresses to build the world we are living in right now; unfortunately, it's often overlooked and overshadowed by Nazism.

  • My high school teacher said to us never underestimate the Germans. Often, we overlook the troops number in these battles. Germans were mostly outnumbered.

  • @DemocraticOrder Without a doubt, plus they had barely any air support. At the beginning nobody had air support , but as the weather cleared allied fighter bombers rained down on the Germans. My Papa fought in the Ruhr in 1945 and met my Grandma in Berlin hospital 1946. My other Grandpa fought out in the pacific , New guinie and Philippines

  • @DemocraticOrder Plus many german troops were short on ammunition , water, foood, and fuel. Very tenacoius , smart men they were. I have been taught to not respect my German papa , but I am beginning to realize he was fighting for his comrades and was a brave man that many men should respect and look up to . I love my European heritage. Very brave men they were on all sides

  • @popper504 Good for you for recognizing your German grandpa bravery. Looking past Nazism, I see a great people and strong society.

  • @DemocraticOrder Thank you man, Nice to see a war video where everyone is discussing opnions and such.. Yes , I do agree that Germany was a very strong , smart , tenacious , brave society. In the mid 1930's Germany was a great place to live . Great art , music, and theater. very clean and unemployment was very low. Even now Germany's economy is 5th largest in the world, considering germany was leveled ater ww2

  • The History channel played something involving History?

  • this vid is a pc, of SH%T- you dubbed some (stole??) some other works & tried to "make" a vid- this SUX

  • This doc does look a bit sensationalised. Imagine the actual soldiers looking at it and going WTF!?

  • Looks like CoD finest hour. XD

  • My grandpa drove his Sherman for 4 nights in cold snow to get to the bulge.

  • @Pennell96 I didnt know there is warm snow

  • wonder y they never cover the eastern front in such depth as the western one...32 million people died on the eastern front and they never talk about sino-japanese war lol tht is longer than all of ww2 since it started in 1937

  • @VAPOURIZE100 I was just wondering that too. You see the the non-aggression pact between Stalin and the Germans, then you see the Germans crushing the Russians, Russians dying in prison camps, then the Germans getting defeated by the weather... and that's usually the end of it. I imagine it's cold war driven prejudice? Ditto for the Chinese, who suffered as bad as the Jews and yet they're completely ignored.

  • @ozoneocean yepp i completely agree n i feel sorry for those who died in this bloody war to find no recognition many of the vids iv seen abt the soviets fighting but barely any with sino-japanese war...real fact is China kept the japs busy however 2nd largest losses of the war (10-20 million) the jap prison camps were like hell with various torture techniques...history channel is fkin biased with soo much stuff i stopped watching it after i found out how much they excluded -.-

  • Wait, that's a jumbo they're showing! Why aren't they saying this!? Fking history channel! >:(

Not sure the Stug III would be so easily taken out by even a Jumbo >.>

  • STUG III!!!!! STUG LIFE MTHFKERS! :D

  • I can't stand these ugly computer animations anymore with those cheap soundeffects and melodramatic commentaries...

  • badudles

  • Too many likes. This is a piss documentary by the dreaded "History" channel. There are far better ones out there. Watch those instead.

  • @askjiir share the link pls.

  • @marnene4ever1

Apocalypse - the aggression. And the ever classic: World at war, from the seventies.

  • @marnene4ever1

And then there is also "Battlefield."

  • @askjiir I just started the video , but i do agree with your opnion. About to watch and see what it is about. I personally really enjoy , WW2 in Colour, very unbiased and very informative. I also really enjoy "German War Files" all episoded. You can find them onYOUTUBE. Any recommendations?

  • @popper504

Look for Apocalypse - the aggression.

  • @popper504

And world at war from the seventies. There is also "Battlefield"

  • @askjiir Okay i thought it was "So so". Pretty cool how they went from the animated soldiers , to the real life images. Anyhow , this show is strictly for newbies just learning about ww2 and its battles. I give it a 6.5 out of 10

  • @popper504

I agree. It's only for newbies to say the least.

  • @askjiir well they are entertaining thats about it and slightly cool so yeah.

  • @askjiir such....as......

  • @runningcockroach

I have already named quite a few. Look at my earlier replies.

  • @askjiir Agree. Watch good ol' "Battlefield" instead. These modern "documentaries" are, sadly, more focused on dramatic effect rather than factual and historic accuracy. You never really learn anything about the battles concerned as the detail level is non-existant.

  • @askjiir any examples of those "far better ones" documentaries?

  • Comment removed

  • @drLazyEvil

Search for "Apocalypse. The agression." I think you will be in awe.. There are others ones too of course.

  • @askjiir Ah, was hoping for something about patton. :P

  • Ehdolf Hitler. lol

  • To all those who love watching these documentaries:

I wouldnt take everything the narrator says, it's the History channel after all, so it;s probably half propoganda to make the USA seem super powerful

  • @13Psycho13 True. I wish they could be objective and not so pro war jingoistic non-sense.

  • the constant editing, graphics and cheesy ott narration is awful . its that bad you'd almost think this was a piss take .shame on you history channel .

  • king tigers vs stuarts.. thats a waste of ammo on the Germans part lol.

  • "NUTS"!! FROM ME TO THE THE NAZI COMMANDANT !! :)

  • THOSE ARE THE SAME LINES FROM BATTLE 360 @ 00:59

  • 13:13 Wood and Eddy had been at each other for months. Eddy "Wood general Patton wants us to get moving the 4th was to be mobile 8hours ago." Wood "they need rest can you tell Patton that?" Patton comes over Patton "WHATS GOING ON HERE I gave you an order Jack get your men up the road" Wood "they need rest George Edd has been keeping me here too long" 14:00 Patton "This is mutiny Wood take your feud and can it YOUR FIRED I will now relieve you of command." the 4th had no leader.

  • 3:13 is that a Swastika I see painted on that Sherm turns out the Nazis stole it. take it out Leach show those Nazis they have no right stealing our tanks.

  • Marry Christmas all you WWII vets today it is 67 years since Bulge started.

  • 3:20 lol

  • does anyone else ever get tired of the history channels retarded slurs like "nazi forces"?

  • @VonCurry8 If they’re fighting SS forces, that is appropriate. Otherwise I agree with you it’s lame and historically inaccurate.

  • @VonCurry8 Yes. Its a simplistic and wrong way to look at history. The Heer was not all Nazi and in fact many were trying to assassinate Hitler while fighting the Americans and British. This blanket term is not only historically inaccurate but also rather harmful to understanding the complex nature that wars have. Good vs evil is hardly ever the case, it's better to think of it as evil vs less evil.

  • HOOAH!!!

  • Are they using models from Battlefield 1942 and/or Forgotten Hope?

  • Actually, the 101st soldiers at the battle always say that they didnt need help

  • The "Battle of the Bulge" was a disaster from the start. The Allies could have gave the Axis lands and just wait till the Germans run out of Fuel. Also what made the Axis war machine so great was the Luftwaffe, It was mostly wiped out by 1944. The Allies had full control over Air and endless resources,man-power that the Axis could only dream about.

  • @martynrobin121 also, in world war 1 and early in world war 2, germany pushed through the lowlands of belgium, luxembourg, and holland, so that would lead to believe that they would attack through there

  • @Davis4037 In the Great War, Germany invaded Belgium and then pushed in2 France that is the reason Britain got involved, In WW2 the Germans done the same, However ther main Forces came from the Ardennes and trapped the main French Forces & BEF. In 1944, Hitler done the same as he did 1940 however he had weak concript army and the main power of Blitzreig, Luftwaffe had been mostly wiped out. The Axis were in no shape to advance.

  • @martynrobin121 britain got into the war because germany invaded poland and that was before germany pushed into france

  • @soldeir12 During the Great war 1914-1918, Britain declared war on Germany because of the invasion of Beglium & France. During World war 2, Britain declared war on Germany because Hitler had refused to withdraw from Poland. Also the Axis powers were taking over parts of Asia & Africa and then Europe, It was time for a nation 2 stand up and fight for freedom, British & Empire, And even the French stood up and fought for little while, and give there freedom so other could gain thers!

  • @martynrobin121 Britain and France declared war on Germany when they invaded Poland.

  • @Warhammer40k47 During WW2, The British&French declared war on Germany because they refused to leave Poland.

  • @martynrobin121 Srry your right wasn't thinking through but now I remember it again.

  • @martynrobin121 i thought they had an agreement with Germany that Hitler can keep Poland as long as he doesnt try anything else, but lil hitler got greedy!

  • @mrfrosty8172 NO! In 1938, The British & French gave the Germans certain lands they had lost during the Great War, In the Munich Treaty- Hitler signed & agreed not to invade any nation. However the Germans broke the treaty and occupied Czech 1938. During 1939, The Germans then invaded Poland and the British gave the Germans a last chance of peace and ask them to withdraw, The Germans refused to leave and started the war. Hitlers gambles backfired! Hitler sold Poland & E.Europe to Stalin.

  • @martynrobin121 well either way he was one crazy fuck!

  • @mrfrosty8172 I agree, Hitler was a foolish austrian dictator. In 1 thousands years people will be talking about Hitlers foolish military gambles.

  • @martynrobin121 The soviet ones where even dumber

  • @rabies79 The Soviets won the war, And played the biggest role during WW2. Yes the Red Army at the start of the war made foolish mistakes and lost over 4million in the first few months. However the Red Army could recover from its massive defeats. Zuckov was the man, From Moscow-Stalingrad-Kursk,etc,etc. Stalin was just like Hitler, However Stalin was smart he knew how to play people like puppets. Hitler was a typical common swine you could read him like abook after 1939.

  • @martynrobin121 Soviet allways made those foolish mistakes, My grandfather told me that in both the Finnish winter war and the continuation war he could se hundreds, even thousends of them just running into MG nest... Stalin was a was not smart, he killed many good generals and killed more people than Hitler could ever do. Soviet did not play the biggest role during WW2, Germany did, in the gearman defeat Soviet did, hitler was smart, he built a nation from practicly nothing!

  • @martynrobin121 Stalin was a fool. He left his armies unprepared and refused to see that Hitler was about to stab him in the back. He ignored the advice of generals and intelligence officers and was almost knocked out during Barbarossa as a result, at which point he panicked and did nothing for several days during key moments of the initial offensive. He then ordered botched counter attacks. The Soviets survived thanks to US and British charity view lend-lease.

  • @suspicious35 The Red Army played the main role during World war 2 by far, Also the Soviet Industry was huge they could produce their own war effort. Infact the only thing the Soviets needed was trucks from the Allies and Info. From the very start of Operation Barberossa the Blitzreig had failed, The Red Army would make the Axis bleed for every street & City, Over 6 Milllion Axis troops and 10Million Red Army troops died on the Eastern Front 1941-45. The massive Red Army was unstoppable

  • @martynrobin121 With tanks, I will agree that the USSR had an amazing military industrial complex. However, they weren’t so good at producing trucks in large numbers. The Soviets used American trucks to supply their counter offensives and as platforms for rockets and other weapons. More importantly, US grain kept Soviet factory workers and soldiers fed after the Germans captured almost all the USSR’s fertile land. Without this, starvation would have crippled the Soviet military and industry.

  • @suspicious35 Yes, I agree the Trucks from the Allies were the most vital. Also the Soviets had an Army of 16million to feed and supply, Logistical nightmare twice the size of the Allied Armies. Please remember the trade & loans was vital for American interests, Also the the Eastern Front was a lifeline to the British on the West fronts. The British had to give the Soviets supplies, etc it was in their best interests. Without the Axis would rule the world not NATO/United nations, etc.

  • @martynrobin121 Even if the Soviets got no aid from the Allies, the Germans would not have been able to conquer the entire USSR it's just too damn big. From middle Poland to the Pacific, it's just not feasible. However, the Germans could have conquered the west and then starved and bombed and rest. However, I don't think it would have made a difference because America would have simply used nuclear weapons to annihilate Germany. The Strategic bombing was bad enough.

  • @suspicious35 The Allies were always going to trade & give loans to the Soviets, The British were over extended and fighting on too many fronts, Operation Barberossa was everything the British sent Weapons,Info,Resources also the US was happy to make more profit and it was in ther best interests. Without the Red Army or British the war would have been lost. The strategic bombing of Germany was mostly ineffective and criminal act. Nuclear weapons are just cowardly.

  • @martynrobin121 We didn't trade, we gave. The USA made no monetary profit from gifts given to the Soviet Union. Also, is body armor cowardly? How about tanks are they cowardly? Is winning a war cowardly? I'd say letting any concerns that don't involve reaching objectives and lowering casualties to interfere with the waging of war is unmilitary.

  • @suspicious35 The US did trade and make profit & even territory gains, etc. It was in 1941, When American interests were at risk did they "give" loans. Also lowering casualties where? You do realise the Axis were begging the British for peace, The Japanese were only fighting for better Oil deals. How about asking for peace-talks instead of total surrender and hand over of honor and occupation? Countless millions would have been saved.

  • @martynrobin121, The Axis weren't begging the British for peace, rather they were trying to destroy Britain & the USSR. USA didn't make profits from the war, & I hate to tell you, even the USSR had a monetary war budget, as did the Nazis & everyone else. USA traded with the other Allies & neutrals, not the Axis. The Lend Lease program wasn't designed to make money but to help the other Allies at a very low cost in money & exchange materials.

  • @christof139 Lend lease was created because the United States didnt want to get fully involved in the war, and if the U.S gave a ton of weapons for nothing to the alllied powers, then germany was going to declare war on the United States. You have to realize at this point in time, no one wanted to see another World War I, thus we were still an isolationist nation. Roosevelt saw that if England fell the next country to be attacked would be the United States.

  • @christof139 During the war, Hitler begged the British for peace(Great offers) The US made alot of Profit & territory gains from the War just research.

The lendlease 1941, Was to protect American interests and help defeat their enemies. It was in the best interests of America, Not Britain.

Hitler wanted peace with Britain, And to destroy communism and expand East.

The British gave the Soviet a lendlease and FREE trade during both wars, The Russains got everything for FREE.

  • @martynrobin121 Not really, because we would have had to fight Japan again. Just as the Entente's failure to insist on unconditional surrender during WWI doomed them to fight Germany again.

  • but i hope you do understand that by reaching some objectives men must not commit war crimes... for that truly is cowardly..

  • @5seba56 Could you rephrase? Not sure what you meant.

  • @suspicious35 it was a reaction on a comment in which you were talking that some things were cowardice and that some things had to be like that in the military otherwise it wouldnt be the military, i only reacted because i felt that some things are never right, and a war crime is one of those things, and commiting war crimes is not only wrong, i felt that only cowards would do such things (this of course is how you look at it)

  • @5seba56 I'd say the willingess to be brutal and heartless hasn't much do to with courage or cowardice. Think about the reverse of your statement. If war criminals are cowards would you say that anyone who can't handle combat is a war criminal?

  • @martynrobin121 lol Strategic bombing ineffective...

The Germans lost more of their equipments in those bombings than in actual combat.

  • @adobo777 The Germans were able to produce MORE under Allied bombing than in peace-time, What does that honestly tell you? Speer was amaster-mind. The Bombing, Helped the Axis killed countless millions of undesirables who starved to death thanks the Allies bombing Supplies routes, POWs been starved to death. Europeans been starved to death. The bombing killed millions of innocents, And proved ineffective to destroy the German economy, Speer said bombing made the Germans work faster

  • Comment removed

  • @adobo777 Just Research? 1944, Was the biggest year for German production. During the height of Allied bombing.

Albert Speer was a mastermind, Also the Allies & Soviets used slave labour.

Allied bombing was a crime against humanity, Millions of innocents mainly women & children died in cowardly acts terror. However that is war -hell.

Allied bombing also helped the Nazis wipe out the undesirables during the Holocaust, Look at the footage millions starved due to bombing.

  • @martynrobin121 correct but the Nazis had ammo and lots of it see what they did at 3:14 they stole a Sherm and painted a Swastika on it good thing they blew it up those Nazis have no right stealing out tanks.

  • if anyone says Patton is an idiot they have no clue what the hell they are talking about.

  • @usterdboy - Patton was probably the best U.S. General and I would be surprised if anyone with any military knowledge would have called him an idiot. He wanted to land at Pas De Calais because it was the shortest route to Berlin and he wanted to end the war fast. Had Patton had control of the Italian Campaign it would never have bogged down under his leadership. When Ike wanted Patton to get involved in Italy to speed up the advance Gen.Mark Clark said he would resign if Patton did.

  • @Gabrielskip Agreed with everything you said. only if other people know what they are talking about.

  • Geeze imagine a ac130 man that idiot needs to smarten up

  • a traitor sherman

  • 761 lead the 4th

The battalion first saw combat on 7 November 1944,The unit endured 183 days of continuous operational employment.

In November 1944 the unit had suffered 156 casualties; 24 men killed, 88 wounded, and 44 non-battle. The unit also lost 14 tanks and another 20 damaged in combat. In December, the battalion was rushed to the aid of the 101st Airborne Division at Bastogne. the unit opened the way for the U.S. 4th Armored , where they met with Ukrainians of the Soviet Army.

  • patton...he did kick ass...but his men would say..his guts...our blood....

  • Good video

  • lol ayydolf :D or so that yank said..........

  • My father was in Patton's Army and in the Battle of the Bulge.

  • if he did not attack sovjet all europe would speak german today

  • @poemalocko Well then the Soviets would have attacked, war between the two was inevidable.

  • @SuperFinnish well no cuz stalin was saying hitler would not do that cuz the 2 had a pact of no war. if the sovjets did not have that we allw ere prepared and german would get slaughterd
