  • Love the music in the beginning.

  • Comment #500 - Will this video give me extra sass while drinking sarsparilla?

  • Why does Albert Andreas Armadillo have a Hitler mustache?

  • the bill guy is singing

  • @WyrmAbyss1214 yeh the same male singer does lots of these (rufus, bill, Conjuction)

  • Now my english teacher calls me Sarsaparilla...

  • 24 people are not Rufus Xaiver Sarsparilla.

  • IM XAVIER...

  • This one always always confused me :/

  • once y9ou've had rhinoceros, you never go back.

  • I LOVE school house rock!! I was raised on these, now that I am 21 I still am in love with them and have this song and Mr. Morton on my driving mix cd, haha. I would love to get my hands on the piano sheet music for this!

  • Bestiality!

  • I love the part at 0:59 where she finds an aardvark that fell in love with her. That's what I remember about this song.

  • "THANK YOU PRONOUNS!"

  • watch?v=GvpRv_MTdfU

  • I definitely agree with that description. This IS the greatest schoolhouse rock. SO MUCH fun to sing.

  • I love this too, but "3" truly is magical.

  • i love all these.

  • lol, when my teacher played this in language class, me and my friend died laughing!!!XD

  • 23 people say nouns over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over

  • Can anyone tell me who brought the rhinoceros on the bus?

  • i like the piano in the background

  • I wanna play this on the piano!!!!

  • I think this video may have made my crack my first real smile of the day.

  • 23 ppl were on the bus when they were one the bus

  • I swear, They Might Be Giants should do a cover of this song! :-D

  • I think someone legally changed their name to this. Dedication; damn.

  • adverbs and pronouns are awesome

  • Nope. Not Dr. John. Jack Sheldon.

  • 23 people fail.

  • Even in college, I have to think of this song when I need to remember pronouns. lol.

  • As a kid i lived for this particular school house rock animation. it is the greatest. I still remember the feeling of elation when it came on and the deep empty sadness when it ended. The whole compostion of the lyrics, voice, and piano just blew me away (and still does to this day) It's a true gem!

  • Dr. John vocals...awesome! brings back childhood memories

  • no relation to the sasparillas!

  • I named my dog Rufus Xavier Sarsparilla after this video. Such a grand name for a dog,

  • This and conjunction junction for grammar, and "I'm just a bill" for history.

  • @sedatedlife18, I don't know about other silent Rs and As, but the BIGGEST blunder here (and it's a shame they never caught it and fixed it...) is the extra E in "Xavier"!!!

No one I know says "exylophone", so saying "eXavier" is completely retarded and uneducated!!!

  • @allanotropy except you're completely wrong. Pronouncing it EX-A-VEE-OR is right!

  • @srowles, Sorry, I'm right on this one. I should know, because I went to a school named "Xavier", and anyone who's ever attended any school with "Xavier" in it knows how to pronounce it right. "X" has always been pronounced "z" in English, until somebody lazy came along and messed it up. I still don't know anyone who says "eXEROX" or "eXERXES", or whatever...

  • @allanotropy Yes, you are correct. I apologize. I did some research after I posted and found this out myself. However, it could be argued that Jack Sheldon is actually saying "ZAY-VEE-OR". He kind of has a mushy voice, and what you hear could just be the end result of "Rufus" (as in he takes a breath between the words). Anyway. He got PRONOUNS right! :P

  • @srowles, haha, no big deal, no apology necessary! Just one of those tiny pet peeves I have only because of my personal background. Otherwise I love the whole series, and my favorite is Blossom Dearie!...

  • My teacher loves that SONG!!!

  • Why does it seem like the word "sarsaparilla" has a silent R and A? Is this the only word in the English language that has these silent letters?

  • HE found a kangroo that folowed HIM home and now IT is HIS

  • albert's full name is an alliteration

  • But I can't say that. Because she found an ARDVARK!

  • if a kangaroo followe me home i'd have kangaroo steaks for dinner....yum!

  • My favorite was always Nouns and Interplanet Janet but I love them all really.

  • my teacherr loves this songs i love it too d : P;

  • this is like 1 of the best songs ever

  • I love this one, but Adverbs is my favorite... Too bad I don't understand them... :D

  • This one made my mouth tired.

  • WHO brought a rhinocerous on this bus?!

  • WHO brought a rhinoserous on this bus?!

  • WHO LET THAT RHINOCEROS ON THIS BUS?!?!?

  • omgz somebody please give me a link to the food one, cheese block or whatever it's called... i heard about it before, but my mom doesn't remember the name! =-(

  • My favorite part is:

WHO let that rhinoceros on this bus?!

  • I'm doing schoolhouse rock! live and I gonna sing this song...

    whooo!

  • I don't know if I could write something like this? This song is insane...in a good way ....but yet insane. How the hell did they write this?

  • I do not remember this from my childhood at all, but I think it's my new favorite!

  • In my opinion, this is one of the best written songs in this whole series. The genius of schoolhouse rock is that the songs were actually really good and people like to sing them, instead of just being the same boring educational stuff that other shows do. And this song really proves the songwriting talent that went into these!!

  • I remember laughing gleefully the first time I heard "But I can't say that...'cuz she found an aardvark!" I still get a chuckle from that. :-)

  • Comment removed

  • Sayin' all those nouns over and over again really wear you down.

  • What a great time to grow up. Saturday morning cartoons and the powers that be had the right idea to educate between shows, when they knew they had the kids right where they wanted them. Pure genius. Now, the kids get to watch informercials.

  • Hah, over a year ago, I used this song on a Language Arts exam.

6th Grade, whew. What a year.

  • one of my favorites!

  • I am NOT disappoint...

  • unless you're talking about Aardvarks, kangaroos, rhinoceros' and armadillos drinking sasparilla, are you really that lazy?

  • hehe Im 13.

and I can tell you at my school we watch this often. :)

  • This one used to be my favorite I think!

  • Watched this back-to-back four times in order to sing it by heart when I was a kid. I STILL can sing it by heart. No one in my family can sing it by heart like me without mumbling the words! XDD

  • I grew up watching these Videos on TV and I enjoy watching them again, to bad their not still on alot of information here for (kids) everyone to see, Thanx for posting Em!!!

  • KangarOOoo!

  • "But I can't say that, 'cause she found an aardvark..." Who knows why that line makes me laugh, it just does. =)

  • sing it all the time

  • Grammar House truly rocks!!!!!

  • This one's my favorite, too. The exotic animals, the sort-of-Spanish-sounding names, the bus ride, a good singer--it's all right on!

  • Kangarooooooooooooo! <3 love that part

  • Luv it!

  • The best one ever made!!!

  • Whoo!

  • Sirjan Xerdaj never understood this Rufus Xavier Sarsparilla video. ^^

  • This gets stuck in my head all the time.

And iTunes won't let me download it :'(

    Waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh...

  • Yeah pronouns rock thank them for standing for a noun

  • sarsaparilla? i thought it was supposed to be sasparilla

  • Listening to these now as an adult, and a musician, I have a new appreciation for the incredible vocal talent of Jack Sheldon.

  • I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!! IT IS THE BEST ONE!

  • @mr.mobilemassage:

You didn't understand pronouns until you were twenty-four. ...What? What's there to understand? I mean, I love this song, but this was one of the single most useless School House topics. Anyone who can speak should be able to figure this out.

  • i remember watching these when i was a kid.....saturday morning cartoos were the best with schoolhouse rock in between..those were the days

  • haha -- xaiver rufus sassperilla!!

  • i watched them when they first came out in the 70's this ones my fav

  • I now understand pronouns at 24. Thanks Schoolhouse Rock once again.

  • my favorite, besides interjections :)

  • @loserfacee29 i absolutely agree!!!

  • @loserfacee29 LOL. I'd forgotten this one! I love Lolly and the adverb store.

"Quickly quickly quickly get your adverbs here ..." :-)

  • @loserfacee29 I love interjections! we are doing this for our musical, and I asked for the part of Dina just because she had that song...

  • <3<3<3 this vid

  • out of ALL the school house rock's this one is by far the best, this guy should have been a rapper !!! WORD UP !

  • thats beastiality! :P lol

  • My favorite along with the interjection! - I also like the nouns and mr, norton - I'm one of the few who can't stand conjunction function i find it annoying.

  • @SoCalBuck42 ya well im the only one in my school who knows these (good thing my dad watched these)

  • @SoCalBuck42 this, interjections, and 3 my favs!

  • @SoCalBuck42 lol i get bored listening to it but i got used to it... now ill hav it in me foreevvveerrrr XDDDD llol but now i kno what the conjunction is i never get what it was XD

  • @SoCalBuck42 What is your function?

  • As much as Conjunction Junction is regarded as the best song, this one personally ranks as my number one for being so funny and catchy.

I wonder how many times the artist had to try again before he ran out of breath at the noun overload in the middle.

  • it's fun trying to sing along to and remember the words to this

  • this is amazing! i love it ahah

  • Pronouns are awesome!!!!

  • @dadadruma - I still remember the lyrics too - I remember singing them to myself when I was in class and had to practice writing different types of sentences. Ha. I do believe we need more things like this because I don't remember a single child in my class that wasn't excited to watch these videos and sing the songs.
