I just bought 25 old computer monitors with a similar project in mind and I was wondering how you transferred the image from one computer to all of these monitors? I know of a few ways to do it but they are all very costly. Is there a (DIY?) way to do this for not so many $?
Hiya! Cool concept. Just wondering if you are able to play video as if the tvs were one whole screen? We're planning on building a mosaic screen with different sized lcds but not sure if it's possible. I only see mosaic walls with similar sized lcds/tvs.
@MurderCrowAwdio : Ok. I've heard ppl. talk about Matrox-products and said "Matrix", hence the question. Also, Matrox specializes themselves by making dual-view-products and such, which were why I thought you might have meant that...

OMG answer this question why dont you just go out and sell all of those tvs for a bidder one OMG! and dont forget the HD oh god help me if you forget the HD!!!!!!!!!!!
But... because of altered work commitments, different town, marrriages etc, we broke the disco setup & moved-on...(& as a "pastime" until IN_EARNEST_AGAIN early 2000's- I continued "R&D" with my AUDIO_ONLY...
In the mid 1970's I was one of the DJ's - running CIRCLE DISCO (Alexandra - NZ) & we had our own TV Techno - who modified TV's for a living (well - he serviced them normally) - SO? we had around 15 or so - around the hall, set on various colours, rasters, scoping modes etc... ALL directly - or partially "DRIVEN" via the seven surround AUDIO CHS we ran.... (my system)
Try this... RUN EACH TV- in a different colour format... or better still "swap" the input R_G_B leads... - so that one plays RED ONLY- another BLUE ONLY... another LIME only... plus U can "dual connect" RG ...or GB... or BR... across 3more TVs... & there's at LEAST NINE WAYS - to connect 3wires... to a 3colour input set...
So? what'r U doing reading this for... U should be SWAPPING feeder plugs...>>>
? Hahahaha - local branch of THE WAREHOUSE - has way more screens than that... same as any OTHER electronics retailer here in NZ... & they'r only trying to SELL theirs?
to pmscompany: the central screen is an old 27" CRT regular TV
to coldzer04: all these old screens were old monitors / tv that were no longer useful, free donations. Took about 1 day or 2 to setup with the help of friends.
its neat but nothing special. Not hard to run all manner of signal splitters and amplifiers to 32 screens. Now make them all display one image and you are talking.
AWESOME!!!! I wonder how much this consume. If turned on 24/7. It's a waste of energy but is cool, but I have seen better but were only 16 monitors, but good try I liked too. 5 stars
Very Cool!

it'd be more impressive if they were usable as 1 huge monitor instead of daisychained displays. sorry, not a winner!

@MurderCrowAwdio - I hope you meant a Matrox GPU?
YnotWeird 1 year ago
@YnotWeird no i meant a unit that let's you place and scale video over multiple monitors to form a proper videowall
MurderCrowAwdio 1 year ago
@MurderCrowAwdio - Regardless, you must have meant Matrox and not Matrix...?
YnotWeird 1 year ago
@YnotWeird do a google search, and browse some pro video hardware.. and no i meant MATRIX from which the movie got it's name.

a bunch of old TVs sucking up a bunch of power for a lame effect that could be just as impressive as a single wall projector.

@kryps1 you would NOT get the same effect....
SuckXmyXchickeN 1 year ago
@kryps1 but a projector would have cost £500+, whereas this was free. READ THE FUCKING DESCRIPTION
