  • at 0:59 you can't even see the planets

  • hey wheres pluto. i feel tiny

  • *Mind blown*

  • what happend to youranus

  • so big so cool i mean so hot

  • copied

  • You know- if we consider that the universe is infinite, it means that I can assure that the earth is the center of universe as well as every planet or even small rock in the universe

  • I LOVE THIS MUSIC!!!

  • MINDFREAK!

  • im scared

  • im having a stomached, and this vid music made me want to go real bad

  • the starting track was a very good song choice, not so sure about the rest of the music

  • omg! almost big as my dick!

  • there better be good food on that plane

  • each time it showed the next one i kept saying "WOAH" lullz

  • i'm going to go to Mu Cephei for vacation l0l

  • There has to be other living life out there. The universe is simply too big for us to be the only living things in the entire universe?

  • thats a lot of years

  • Imagine when that star is on the end of its days and does the supernova bang.

  • @rafahenara i was thinking the exact same thing

  • betelguese??

  • @teroy5 its not that big compared to those stars but its big compared to the sun

  • @teroy5 scratch that out on what i said befor my bad i wasnt thinking i was thinking of something else but yea betelguese should be up there

  • NOW THATS BIG!

  • Too big! so cool! (my favorite youtube video ever!) :)

  • @charle720 thanks :) !

  • BEST. THING. EVER.

  • .. who cannot "like" this ?!?

  • the passenger plane would not even be able to fly in space.

  • =O

  • The music makes it 10x cooler!

  • Sorry but we are all the center of the universe. Everything is the center of the universe. No matter where I put a dot on an infinite plane it is at the center. FOR EXAMPLE: Pick any number. Add all the numbers above the number you picked to all the numbers below it- what is the answer? 0 Always 0. So YES, you ARE the center of the universe. This is not mysticism. Its just 3rd grade math

  • @mucephi1

You are absolutely right, mucephi1. However, I don't think the creator of this VERY cool video meant the sentence at the end to be taken literally. This may be my own interpretation by using common sense, but the first thing that came to my mind was that the creator means this: In the grand scheme of things, we are but a speck. We take ourselves WAY too seriously. Your response could be taken as case in point.

  • @dewserb hehe yes i agree thats what he/she meant. My response wasnt meant to be critical- it just occurred to me to post it when i got to the end of the video and it made its point in such a BIG way. And who knows maybe my explanation means we really should take ourselves even more seriously. either way it was not meant to be a passionate rebuuttal. Peace!

  • INZANE

  • AWSOME VID!!! i love ya!!!

  • Extra credit for class if I get your explicit consent to put this on my 'website'. Can you comment back?

  • @552PresidentKremlin go!, no problems.

  • You forgot betelguese :(, btw i shared on my facebook account :D

  • Hey ca you respond can you tell how many feet the largest known star is instead of kilometers?

  • ... ... ... I... am so amazed! That was awesome!

  • thanks for making me feel small...

  • rigel is actually a really hot star. the surface temperature is something about 50000 C degrees. And it is a blue supergiant. And the next exploding star will be vy canismajoris, because it is so big and i think it will explode within 100 years already.

  • @Turbovessa VY Cannis Majoris will actually explode within 8 years.

  • @Nugwrangler not that fast. probably 100k-1 mil years. it is however very unstable as the force that is created by its nuclear fusion actually exceeds the gravity it creates. thereby making it shed off layers of gas in titanic amounts.

  • whats rigel then very cold?

  • @pksaysftw Blue is actually HOT!!! That's the colour of Rigel and... yeah, that's all I got to say about that.

  • Gdzie jest Uran?? / Where is Uranus??

  • @23budrys Yeah!!!

  • wow,you do know what this means, right?

  • this is always mind boggling, really.

i was stunned when my science teacher showed this to me. wow.

  • @MonsterTheEvilBunny I'm smarter than the science teacher!

  • excellent video, now in this moment i'm humbler.

  • The music scare's me T.T

  • @ZoeHannahan me 2 0 ... 0

  • WE ARE THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE, WHILE ALL THESE GIANTS ARE LIFELESS BALLS OF ROCK GAS WE HAVE LIFE AND YOUTUBE LOL

  • @zoltec88 im sorry but your just a dumbass

  • @zoltec88 Ahhh.... No.

  • i would love to see it in hd :D

  • i imagine this is what our minds are like, even the most knowledgeable man in the world would only be using as much space as the earth uses in this galaxy. i think the universe and human consciousness go hand in hand

"conscious experience is at once the most familiar and most mysterious aspect of our lives"

  • @hectormendoza The most knowledgeable man in the world is me.

  • @Nugwrangler sarcasm right?

  • @flagman57 What do you mean?

  • @Nugwrangler the way a star creates nuclear fusion is by using the force of its gravity to force atoms together. this process releases tremendous amounts of energy, which thereby prevents the gas that constitutes the star to collapse in on itslef. at the end of the life of a star, the fuel runs out and the gas collapses in on itself producing either a supernovae or a planetary nebula. The life of a star works by the outward push of nuclear fusion equaling the inward pull of gravity.

  • @flagman57 But VY Cannis Majoris is already almost through all that, is what I'm trying to say.

  • @Nugwrangler what im trying to say is that VY Cannis Majoris produces so much nuclear energy that at times, it exceeds the inward pull of gravity and pushes large amounts of its own matter into space.

  • @flagman57 That's how it's so going small and so fast at about that!

  • @flagman57 Canis Mojoris is also has much a large mass it is'nt stable. Stars this huge don't live for as long as a dwarf star like Sol or Alpha Centuri for example and this star will go out with a bang.

  • @NANOFORGE i was explaining why such a large mass leads to instability.

  • @flagman57 I think stars need to be 8 times the size of Sol to go supernova, our star is too small, it will just swell up, probally engulf the Earth and then shrink to about the size of venus and end it's life as a white dwarf.

  • @NANOFORGE about 1.4 times actually

  • @flagman57 Really, I've read that a star needs to be at least 4-8 times the size of the sun to go supernova.

  • Chuck Norris's star is still bigger :)

  • NO! i'm not in earth! i'm in a black hole 12.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.900.990.000.000.000.000 light years away! : P

NO! the sun is not our own star! there's a pink megagiant star 13.000.000.000 km away from sun! : P

  • @Jujudesjp That means you're in another universe.

There's no megastars. Stop messing around with everyone and smarten up, stupid.

  • how bout r136a1?

  • What about Betelgeuse?

  • @JBBJGWC

    Good Point!

  • the real diameter of canis majoris is 3.430.000.000

  • @TheNogeman well there is some dispute about the size of VY canis majoris, most esitmate it to be 1800-2100 times the mass of our sun. Some don't even believe that, some think that the size of the star isn't being measured. Some think that scientists are actually measuring the size of a large gas cloud surrounding the star, and that the star is more smaller in reality. But even if that were true, it would still be about 600 times the mass of the sun!

  • @multicaal2 the size of canis majoris is 3.600.000.000 this video is old, the new studes comprovate your real size

  • @TheNogeman Ok I'll look that up, thanks.

  • where is betelgeuse?

  • earth (you are here) lol

  • if the biggest star hit earth.. it would go bye bye .

  • @StarsInSpace2 DO'NT SAY THIG LIKE THAN1 IT MIGHT HAPINE >_>

  • @StarsInSpace2 dude...if the moon hit the earth it would go bye bye...

  • hu 0f y0u w@/\/T T0 be M3 tecckzzm8t3 jejeje

  • Thank you for posting this video. I LOVE THE STAR ANTARES,My sister and I are musicians we named our band AEON ANTARES the reason ANTARES is the hart of the ASTROGOLIAL SIGN SCORPION that was our FATHERS BIRTH SIGN and he bought us our musical instruments a ELECTRIC BASS AND ELECTRIC GUITAR at ages 5 &7 knowing our love of music, he hoped we would make a career of it. And we have.

  • The song is called The black hole:end title

  • jajajaja and people walk with the chest sticking out, like big shit !! in reality thats

what we are compare to these monsters!

  • Die Walküre (The Valkyrie) would have an excellent choice for this video. One day, one day when space warping is possible intergalactic travel will be a daily matter. I dont think we will travel faster than light.

  • imagin that VY Canis Majoris was Earth

    O_O eye opener

  • NO WAY THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!

  • WE LOSE! WE GET NOTHING! GOOD DAY SIR!

  • my brain hurts.

  • wowzers penny

  • Doesn't matter who is richest tallest & smartest still cant compare with universe

  • we are NOTHING!!!

  • Well I guess it's going to be a while before Jesus gets back to us.

  • what if it took 100000000000071892375263487956437895624387956787342652346782135476823164523478563287945681265716324672187936589123652613895678263756273865872136578126357861238745 years?

  • dosent anybody listen VY Majoris is the largest KNOWN KNOWN KNOWN star.

  • i dont think itll take 1100 years i think itll take 1.000.0000.00000.000000 years and 9.000.000.000.00000 months

  • @stratfort337271 you noob, if youre flying 900km / h then you need 1100, can't read? go to school junky

  • didn´t you notice he was joking?

  • The diameter of vy canis majoris is actually 2,921,100,000 km in diameter. this gives it a circumference of 9,172,254,000 km(about twice the orbital path of saturn!!). that number devided by 900(aircraft speed) gives us 10191393 hours. divide that by 8760(hours in a year) gives us 1163 years. small difference, but it means that my great X 32 grandson will reach the end instead of my great X 30 grandson...

  • Now imagine one of those massive stars colliding with our solar system 0_0

  • you forgot Uranus, and the 2.largest star vw chapei

and sirius is not white is blue ^^ but very good video 5*

  • Uranus is about the same size as neptune. VY Cma is the largest known star, larger than VV Cephei (which I'm sure is what you mean, VW Cephei is a binary system of 2 sun-sized stars). Also, Sirius is an A spectral type star, meaning that is is blueish-white in color.

  • Thanks for posting this video...I shared it on my Facebook account and I have watched several times already over the last few days. Everything about the universe amazes me, but what I can't still believe is how most humans keep ignoring science and keep their minds very close to new discoveries and perspectives. Interesting...

  • Thanks so much for shared this video..

  • @ingdeoz nobody knows how big the universe is, so far everything imaginable is the center, because there is an end to everything we can just guess... we could get lucky and be the center lol

  • @Lcarolina29 "what I can't still believe is how most humans keep ignoring science and keep their minds very close to new discoveries and perspectives." Do you mean? "don't keep their minds very close to new discoveries"

But i agree, I sometimes wonder why more people don't jump up from their day jobs and run out to all become astronomers. It's sad how most people are not interested more in 99.9999999% of the universe. Especially when we are so close to finding other living worlds.

  • no, VV chepei is third largest.....VV Cephei A - 1900 Solar radii,

    WOH G64 - 2000 Solar radii,

VY Canis Majoris 2100 Solar radii... VY Canis is 4900 light years from us.

  • W Cephei, not V V

  • there is a bigger one, W Cephei I think. It's alot more bigger than VY Majoris

  • do you mean "V V Cephei" ? if so that it's not quite as big as vy canis majoris. if you DO mean "W cephei", then thats not really a fair comparrison since we don't know how big it truely is due to it's variable nature.

  • I mean W Cephei, and you do know how big it is, look it up here on youtube?:S

  • i was meaning that since the sizes of all of the stars that make up the entity known as "W Cephei" are constantly changing in apparent luminosity and intensity, it is impossible to label it with an accurate size. it is(extremely roughly) estimated that it is larger than vy canis majoris, but it is such a rough estimate that it could very well be much smaller also.

  • But then how can everyone be so sure VY Canis Majoris is the biggest?

  • we aren't sure of that. just of the ones that we feel we CAN make an accurate estimate about, VY Canis Majoris is the largest.

  • There are stars larger than Majoris, but they're not in our galaxy. The most massive stars in the universe are located in the centers of giant Elliptical Galaxies.

Majoris will most likely collapse into a supermassive blackhole billions of years from now.

  • no, there are no stars that we that we know of and can prove are larger than VY Canis Majoris.

  • That is probably a wrong calculation. The bigger the stars are the shorter the lifespan is. Canis Majoris is probably dead within 1 million years and probably sooner. And a supermassive blackhole is usually consisting of several black holes combined so i would say this assumption is also wrong.

  • not billions, millions, possibly 100,000s of years, its burning fast, and so will die fast

  • millions dude millions -_-

  • It's the biggest KNOWN star.

  • the biggest thing in the universe and the most destructive is the human EGO.. it has the capacity to kill its own precious and most rare thing in the universe consciousness

  • @leevancleef1234 that didnt really make sense, but i see what you going at, but i dont agree :)

  • 1:40 my effing god the line was almost completely straight... you wouldn't wanna run in to that in a dark alley xD

  • You can't find a straight line of

Cansis Majoris in an alley! xD rofl

  • wouldn't really be a "dark" alley if it had a star in it, now would it? lol

  • Thats one heck of an Alley if you find that star there. lol

  • Playstation two can't compare with Playstation two million

The new console of next generation

  • Haha, hard to believe that our sun is hotter than VY Canis Majoris...

  • It wouldnt matter anyway that star would just eat the Sun.

  • VY Canis Majoris's established diameter is 3,063,000,000 kilometers.I'm not quite sure what makes out the difference between a supergiant and a hypergiant, but I think it's the size and the luminosity.

  • there is actually no criteria separating a hypergiant from supergiant...

it's just generally accepted that a hypergiant is an exectionally large supergiant...

  • wolfmother4eva is correct. but stars are generally defined as hypergiants by their size and mass loss rate.
