It's more reliable. The W16 isn't being pushed to it's limits like a 1000hp V8. The transmission on the Bugatti is made for that amount of power also.

Which is why the new LF-A and NSX was to cost so much. Even the base GT-R has more than 480hp when dynoed.
The Porsche 914 and 916 were great cars...small, great handling and really light. They kick ass at vintage racing nowadays. I think it's a great idea to do a throwback to the 914/916.

imo Hennessey is overrated. they are a pro modifying company that overprices their work. i could get a car modified for half of what they charge and it'd be faster. fanboys hate me all you want, but it's the truth.
It won't be as reliable as your daily driver, but Hennessey will definitely make their car more reliable than your average tuning shop trying to go for the same power.
Their Venom Viper is in many cases more reliable than lower output Vipers tuned by other shops.
wow, that REALLY shows how much you know about Skylines. they came with I6s, not V6s. and please, don't call something that was discontinued in 2001 "old school".
also, how does high prices make Hennessey over rated? they beat a Bugatti Veyron in a standing mile. they held the record for the fastest car at the Texas Standing Mile for a consecutive 3 years.
i called it "old school" because i was referring to the r32 gt-r models (introduced in 89; when a car is 20 or more years old it is considered to be CLASSIC). second, the skyline has been around since the 50s, so it more than qualifies.
inline-6 TT, v6 TT, you know what i meant, it was an honest mistake.
finally, LOTS of cars can beat a Veyron in 1/4mi. there are sooo many street tuned cars that can smoke one, that isn't much of a feat. Hennessey is a tuning company that produces reliable vehicles but they overprice them to hell, so imo the price is a BIG part of the company itself.
um can you possibly point out to me the similarities between "standing" mile and "1/4" mile? because i said "standing", not "1/4". you do realize what a standing mile is right?
also, how is it overpriced when you're paying for super-supercar crushing speed, power, acceleration, and reliability? you're basically paying for a race car with full interior. do you know how much turn-key race cars are worth? about the same.
just because something is overpriced, doesn't make it over rated.
you can tune a car for a lot less. that's my point. it's like buying a stock car vs a dealer modified one. to have your car tuned is going to be cheaper. and a 1/4mi and standing mi are not the same obviously, but the main difference is top speed, that's all. you can get supercar performance from a lot of tuners, and cheaper. i'd rather get the lower price, but that's just me. you want the interior done, take it to a specialist... still cheaper.
the reason why i said they are overrated is because several of their cars are slow as fuck. the tuned camaro and challenger are boats. their viper is an amazing machine, but a few cars doesn't make it great...
have you driven the Camaro HPE550 or Challenger HPE800?
what do you drive that's faster than the Challenger HPE800's 10.75 in the 1/4? because in order for you to say they are slow as fuck, you have to have a car that is quicker than that. and to reply to a future comment, i don't care if high 10s are slow for an 800hp car, its still 3 seconds faster than a stock SRT/8.
do you also have a car that's faster than the Camaro HPE550's 11.7?

standing mile isn't a competition for top speed. its a competition to see who gets the fastest speed in a mile. the Venom 1000TT reached 222mph while the Veyron reached 215mph if memory serves me right. both cars are capable of much bigger numbers outside that mile.
also, full interior doesn't mean modified interior. i was referring to the cars having the stock interior. they're not even stripped.
my first car i bought, stock, was faster than both cars, stock, and i paid under 10k. a 10sec car IS fast, but i'm talking about for the power, it's slow. i could take an old scooby and drop less than 40k in it and it could smoke both those cars for a grand total under 50k, that's the point, it's better to have it tuned yourself.

It won't be as reliable as your daily driver, but Hennessey will definitely make their car more reliable than your average tuning shop trying to go for the same power.
Their Venom Viper is in many cases more reliable than lower output Vipers tuned by other shops.

wow, that REALLY shows how much you know about Skylines. they came with I6s, not V6s. and please, don't call something that was discontinued in 2001 "old school".
also, how does high prices make Hennessey over rated? they beat a Bugatti Veyron in a standing mile. they held the record for the fastest car at the Texas Standing Mile for a consecutive 3 years.

i called it "old school" because i was referring to the r32 gt-r models (introduced in 89; when a car is 20 or more years old it is considered to be CLASSIC). second, the skyline has been around since the 50s, so it more than qualifies.

finally, LOTS of cars can beat a Veyron in 1/4mi. there are sooo many street tuned cars that can smoke one, that isn't much of a feat. Hennessey is a tuning company that produces reliable vehicles but they overprice them to hell, so imo the price is a BIG part of the company itself.

um can you possibly point out to me the similarities between "standing" mile and "1/4" mile? because i said "standing", not "1/4". you do realize what a standing mile is right?
also, how is it overpriced when you're paying for super-supercar crushing speed, power, acceleration, and reliability? you're basically paying for a race car with full interior. do you know how much turn-key race cars are worth? about the same.
just because something is overpriced, doesn't make it over rated.

you can tune a car for a lot less. that's my point. it's like buying a stock car vs a dealer modified one. to have your car tuned is going to be cheaper. and a 1/4mi and standing mi are not the same obviously, but the main difference is top speed, that's all. you can get supercar performance from a lot of tuners, and cheaper. i'd rather get the lower price, but that's just me. you want the interior done, take it to a specialist... still cheaper.

the reason why i said they are overrated is because several of their cars are slow as fuck. the tuned camaro and challenger are boats. their viper is an amazing machine, but a few cars doesn't make it great...

have you driven the Camaro HPE550 or Challenger HPE800?
what do you drive that's faster than the Challenger HPE800's 10.75 in the 1/4? because in order for you to say they are slow as fuck, you have to have a car that is quicker than that. and to reply to a future comment, i don't care if high 10s are slow for an 800hp car, its still 3 seconds faster than a stock SRT/8.
do you also have a car that's faster than the Camaro HPE550's 11.7?

standing mile isn't a competition for top speed. its a competition to see who gets the fastest speed in a mile. the Venom 1000TT reached 222mph while the Veyron reached 215mph if memory serves me right. both cars are capable of much bigger numbers outside that mile.
also, full interior doesn't mean modified interior. i was referring to the cars having the stock interior. they're not even stripped.

my first car i bought, stock, was faster than both cars, stock, and i paid under 10k. a 10sec car IS fast, but i'm talking about for the power, it's slow. i could take an old scooby and drop less than 40k in it and it could smoke both those cars for a grand total under 50k, that's the point, it's better to have it tuned yourself.
