Always held a special place in my heart this piece of music. Its a different version of the music playing when the Fifth Fleet charges at the Battle of the Citadel in ME1. Probably one of the most epic moments in 21st Century gaming.
If you didn't tell me this was the ME3 theme then I never would have associated that music with Mass Effect.
It sounds like they're trying to mimic the style of the orchestral scores for the Halo series; but doing a poor job of it. The score is slow and somber; but not really moving or beautiful it just sounds like the sort of generic orchestral work you hear accompanying a WWII documentary and it really doesn't fit Mass Effect.
This has the nostalgia of the first game with a bit of a sad tone to it... I can tell from this theme alone that things get really intense with the Reapers in this game, difficult decisions have to be made, and unimaginable sacrifices occur. This game will be on a whole new scale that neither the first or second game can level up to. Cannot wait for this game to come out
Okay so is it too late to boot Sam Hulick and put Michael McCain in?... COME ON WE HAVE TO SALVAGE ALL WE CAN WITH MASS EFFECT 3!!! N OMORE FUCKING AROUND BIOWARE!!
@LeVaughnX Are you kidding me? Mass Effect 1 soundtrack - Fantastic - with Sam Hulick, Mass Effect 2 soundtrack - Fantastic - with Sam Hulick, Deus EX: HR - Michael McCann - All sounds the same
What?? Already finished?? Nooo, when I listened to this I remembered the Mass Effect 1 moment where the Normandy destroys Sovereign!!! T___T This game is gonna be so EPIC!!!
I am so glad they called back Hulick for this! :D
@MDesigner I get it. ^_^ Anyway, even if these are just a few seconds, you succeed to bring back the ME1 emotions that ME2 lacked to me. Glad to have you back for the epic conclusion of the Mass Effect trilogy, Sam Hulick!!! :D
Can't wait to listen the whole sountrack while playing the game on March!

When I get this game and start it up knowing this is Shepard's last adventure and this music comes on... I might start tearing up.

And there's even a video about now.
People who work at Gamespot and BestBuy got Demo today.

@implodinggoat Perhaps. But it IS just a downbeat version of ME1's Victory.

I love it. It fits because it's the end of Shepard's story. Very bittersweet. :)

I miss the unique feel of the ME1 soundtrack.

You do know that this is just different version of ME1 OST Victory?
That music happens once Sovereign is defeated.

This is really nothing special.

@Arch0n89
This is just a Demo of that OST.
Notice how it cuts roughly at the end.
We will see full version once Bioware decided to release entire ME3 OST, which will happen before ME3 release.

@CroGamer002 No, this is indeed the full track. It doesn't cut roughly at the end.

@MDesigner
My mistake then.
Though end of soundtrack does ends little awkward to me.
But still, absolute brilliant piece.
I applaud you sir.

Hey, could you give entire list who did which music?
It would help in properly crediting music.

@CroGamer002 For which Mass Effect? 1? 2?

Pretty please? :-)

@CroGamer002 Look up the Wall of Sound interview on the OCRemix website. They have a list of ME2 music and their composers.
