I want to learn this song. but i am no good at reading the sheet music... Is there any website with the sheet music&the letters of the keys on? If not could you message me on my page with the keys please? x
I started teaching myself about a year ago, and I downloaded the sheet music for this song in C major, and it took me about an hour to memorize the first page perfectly, but all of those sixteenth notes get crazy. I am used to sixteenth notes for my right hand, but not the left. I can play harder pieces, like Nocturne and countless Yiruma songs... have any tips for me?
@Eohyr Sorry for the late reply ^^ I took lessons for 4 years or so when I was much younger, stopped for 5 years and picked it up again and taught myself after that. Back to lessons now though xD But at the time what I did was just slow it down and work on fingering, once you can play it slow you can do it quickly quite easily! The only thing I regretted with that song is that I wish I'd learnt it in the original key, it's nice to place it in a different one but it is better in the original =)
Nice transposition right there.. If you can read notes properly, then try your best to play the original piece.. That's a challenge.. That will be better rather than re-record another video of "Melodies of Life piano version in C Major".. :)
hello. you play well... the arrangement of this piece is indeed pretty good. i have heard of another piano arrangement of this song... i wonder if you have that.
We have another ff9 fan! Haha, I accepted your video response and thanks for the dedication, I am glad the video helped! It's very very unique to hear it in a C Major chord, but it was still lovely none the less. The best part was in the middle, and it was my favorite, you definitely sparked emotion in a very smooth way.
Although I do recommend... have you tried playing the starting part in a higher OVA? It might give a more delicate as the "pretty" section rolls around. You had some nice fingering, and you kept the feeling of rolling waves, the slight expression added a vibrancy too, really good work sir!
Thanks :) What do you mean by OVA? Octave? I thought the start sounded a little forced myself, a bit too hard. And my 2vs3 bit sounds different to all the other videos I've seen around here, like an emphasis I'm missing. I've narrowed my next attempt at a FF9 song between vamo alla flamenco or the final battle music ^^ Any suggestions there?
yes a higher octave... the 2 vs 3 part was the most difficult part of the piece, had to do plenty of counting, and repeats with that measure... Those are great song selections... I don't know If I can suggest which piece is better... but I could help you with vamo since I have played through it... on the other hand I can't help you with the ff9 battle, but my brother could help you with that... Vamo might be slightly easier and shorter then ff9battle
I found between 2:02 > 2:08 to be the hardest part, the stretch on the left and then the fiddly bit with the right took a while to get used too. I'm still torn between the songs :/ Well I'll probably learn them both eventually anyway so it's going to be a case of picking blind :) Thanks for the comments. I'll give playing it in a higher octave later tonight.
FUCKING AWESOME!!

Have you taken lessons?
If not, how long have you been self teaching?
