Musically, I love the first half of the chorus ("Control your bad side/Into battle" and later "Explode or capsize/But find my going") - so much so that I wish they found a way to repeat it more, even at the expense of the rest of the chorus.
And lyrically, I like all of the chorus, which I've always interpreted as a sort of war of words with an old acquaintance you met out drinking one night. (Anyone have a link to Gomez explaining the song?)
Great interpretation, really. I like the thought of the old acquaintance too. Would also like to hear the repetition thing, and I think the song is just too short.
And I think people misunderstood my initial comment, I really like Gomez.
top top band !!!

this isn't a radiohead (or even radioheadish) song. oh Gosh, just because there's a saxophone people just say it has to do with the national anthem...
Gomez are a great band since '96.

Such a great intro and verse, ruined by that incredibly shitty chorus

I think In Our Gun may have come out before Kid A. The riff is also used by Elbow on Mexican Standoff.
All three are cracking tunes.

Radiohead's Kid A was released October 2000,
In Our Gun was released March 2002.
