@jajajah86 I've been doing close grip pull ups for like 6 months now(by far one of the best forearm exercises) and I can say that they target your arms a lot more than your back. It's like this: the closer your hands are together the more you use your arm muscles, the more they are apart the more back muscles are used to do a pull up.
Btw dead hangs don't put more stress on you shoulder joint more than any pulling exercise out there.
But it is important to do your push ups regularly.
i dont like to dead hang sometimes because it rips my skin and the first time it burns for days but you kinda get used to it. When i do my chin ups i go half way down if i dead hang i use my legs to go up. =/
@jajajah86 mate! you should try it. I usually hang for 60 secs on 4 fingers (each hand, no thumbs! thumbs ruin it)
But keep your shoulders and elbows tight, dont just hang. I mean dont really be ''dead'' keep your muscles static. Try it, go hang on a bar with only 4 fingers on each hand but dont lock your elbows, that way you wont hurt your joints. It will burn your forearms like hell! It hurst soooo much xDD
@jajajah86 Keep a slight elbow bend to protect the joints and add weight progessively. Also, consider using Fatgrips or something similar for an added grip challenge.
@sweetspeed21 if you have body weight of toddler than it's got to be easy. Put him under 600 pounds in olympic squat and watch what will happen to his spine.

The second one will put excess stress to the elbows. Don't try it when your elbows/forearms are not strong enough.
