The lockout is happening because players and owners are feuding over money. Sub par players like Derek Fisher and Rashad Lewis want to continue getting paid millions of dollars, when they can't produce. The elite players in the league such as Kobe, Lebron, Wade, etc don't care because they will continue earning their high salaries through regular pay and endorsements. The owners also don't want all the star players to go to one team, like Lebron, because the smaller markets can't compete.

@Zaid777 No one from when he played would make the NBA in today's standards, and that's a fact. Today the NBA is fabricated and even amateur basketball is at a higher standard. There wasn't millions of dollars for athletes back than, and average players were payed the same as the middle class.

@SomeoneNamedChris They had to take anything down with active NBA players in it, because of the lockout - same way players aren't allowed to use company facilities, aren't getting paid and can't mention their teams. The league can't use players names or likenesses for promotional purposes or to make money until a new labor agreement is reached.
