  • I know that Manson is the son musical of Trent but after I see this performance I feel that Manson had a influence on Trent

  • Look what heck Lolla has become, a buch of pussy brit indie bands, overhyped NME whack shit... I wish I was there back in 90's to see the real shit!

  • I love you. Trent and yes I'm a girl

  • Shit man, if trent would'be gotten on that stage with the muscles he has today. Everyone at the stage wouldve died I think :P

  • sooo fucking good, grew up on NIN, I was in 5th grade during this performance haha

  • I would've given my left nut to see this performance live. This was basically THE definition of a NIN concert.

  • @Mrlutsfer - "The Definition of a NIN concert" ? Interesting considering it was woodstock / many bands. Not detracting from your comment I just think it's ironic. True, but ironic.

  • This performance is absolutely essential to view after being dumped...Trent is my only friend :(

  • I miss the old Trent, the one who screams his head off with sheer anger, is skinny as an insect, really unpredictable and chaotic and sometimes even scary. I read at one show in the 90s he dragged the guitarist across the stage by his hair and threw a mic stand at the drummer whilst still playing. His newer shows are still great but it's mostly just the band causing mayhem with Trent being a real pro.

  • i was there. great time

  • Nine had to follow shit acts like the counting crows, cheryl crow, the black crows,,all sorts of bands not in their league. But it was more feelgoody But NIN made WoodStock 94, period. The next woodstock lived up to my generations expectations, fuck the world fight anyone and tear it down and set fire to it!!. ftw.

  • wtf are you talking about limp bizkit ripped woodstock 99. whats your beef with limp bizkit?

  • nirvana is the best band of the 90's imo. nine inch nails is very good to there probally in the top 5 or top 10. downward spiral was a good album but it could have better than the hype it recieved for being recorded in the manson house.

  • through the downward spiral they started all shows with pinion and terrible lie I saw them 10 times the last time was 1995 NIN rules. Pretty Hate Machine will always be my favorite album nothing will ever be that raw and good ever. LOVE IT

  • i know a guy who worked the sound and handled the large electric cables at this gig. he told me how he saw trent and the rest of the band playing in the mud before going on stage. it was pretty funny he said.

  • I wish I could have been there. The quality of these videos just don't allow you to listen to the music well.

  • yup

  • When I saw NIN live during the Fragility tour, they also began the show with Pinion followed immediately by Terrible Lie, just like this Woodstock performance. So I second that notion that their peak extended through Fragility. That is, assuming that NIN started this performance with Pinion followed by Terrible Lie. It appears that way.

  • the peak of nin coolness right there. Woodstock was a sloppy show, but damn, it kicked butt.

  • I'd say their peak extended through the fragility tour.

  • jimjonestown

    rocketmail

  • The best 4:03 to 4:08

  • trent should release a closure 2

  • yeah, rude1987...I would love for a dvd of Closure haha. I'm interested in the footage that Trent talked about or rumors from the wave goodbye tour or NINJA 2009, know they didn't do the LITS 2008 tour, dunno why

  • totally agree..I want to have a DVD of this...just NIN

  • I don't understand why they don't make Woodstock 94 as DVD format while other event 69/99 are both avaiable as DVD officially. Maybe due to copyright contract problem.. but at that time they published as LD as well as VHS & CD, so they have good quality and at least SD quality. I think Woodstock 94 was much better than 99.

  • A friend of mine has this concert in DVD.

It's an unauthorised thing that somebody released somewhere. I saw in a store in Canada(where I live).

It's says that NIN have absolutely nothing to do with it.

  • Agreed, Woodstock '99 was awful... thanks to Limp Bizkit. Fuck Them!

  • Holy shit Trent is an absolute badass in this clip!!! Long live NIN

  • the last 2 minutes of this are reeeeeeeeeeediculous

  • Also a lot of people make remarks about the mud or have questions about it but don't actually know the story behind it. It was symbolic. After the rain there was a huge mud pit and a sub-culture of people emerged. The Mud People. They pretty much just lived in the mud. So when NIN came out covered from head to toe in mud we went crazy. They were one of us! Truly one of the greatest performances I ever had the pleasure of witnessing

  • heavey fucking vocals!

  • 2:35 trent looks like a zombie...he's so awesome

  • how high were you at this show?

  • Trent was pretty pissed because the mics were fucking up. If you watch a lot of these videos you can see him smashing and banging them around, sometimes into his own head. At the time or if you are watching these videos you would think it was part of an angst driven performance of a song. It wasn't. He was mad the equipment was messing up and making them sound like shit. at the end of head like a hole he kinda just threw his stuff down and jumped on it a few times then walked off stage

  • during the self destruct tour, trent always destroyed his equipment.

  • That's great and I think we all know that. During this Woodstock show in particular he kept smashing his microphones during just about every song. It had nothing to do with breaking the equips at the end of the show or during a certain song as they usually did. In case you didn't notice the sound is pretty bad cutting in and out through the entire set.

  • North American** sorry. Don't ya just love that awesome creepy sound in Pinion lol

  • pretty cool...I think most of the songs played got a make over and are now digitally remastered, which...I heard from a Q&A event with Trent at one of the 2009 North U.S. Ampi shows that there might be a Deluxe Edition kinda thing on The Fragile album since it was recorded with his label Nothing Records. Wish it was done with the PHM album but Rykodisc bought the rights in 2005 and won't give Trent the money to do it. Cunts.

  • the original set list for mudstock '94: Terrible Lie, Sin, March Of The Pigs, Something I Can Never Have ,Closer, Reptile, Wish, Suck, Burn, The Only Time, Down In It, Dead Souls, Help Me I Am In Hell, Happiness In Slavery, Head Like A Hole.

I would make like a circus seal for the chance to be there.

  • I would fight a grizzly bear to the death with only being given brass knuckles in order to go back in time to see this performance.

  • When I found today out that my older brother when to this concert I was so jealous.

  • Fuckin' huge agreement with u!

  • Why so? I mean, they could just play the cd, and you would get the same performance. The only "live" element to this "band" is the stage shown.

  • @90sAlternative I was there... and would fight that bears cousin to go back and see it again.

  • @90sAlternative haha! And if the bear kills you, at least you'll die with the orgasm that seeing this gave you

  • @90sAlternative I'd do it one-handed.

  • The Undertaker is playing the keyboard!!

  • Good old times....

    Great stuff.

  • Why knock Nirvana here, just listen to this NIN mind fuck and enjoy it. They're totally different genres/presentations. Both brilliant in their own respects.

  • man this needs to be revamped and released on DVD

  • anyone have this concert on cd??

  • I use to but it was a double and the sound kinda sucked. only bootlegs exist

  • deadly as hell....what Bowie song is"pinion" reversed from?? lovveee how is slows right down, till terible lie's programing creeps in!! A+

  • I love this song, NIN rules i can't wait to see them live in july

  • PHM songs live are killers!

  • and i still like both bands.

  • best nin performance ever!

  • Wow! I remember this in ppview!!! AWESOME!

  • i think NIN is perhaps the most definitive band of the nineties...even more so than nirvana

  • totally

  • I wouldn't limit them to just defining the 90s, because they're STILL going.. and strong I might add.

  • Putting a band like Nine Inch Nails, with such artistic accomplishment, in the same sentence as a band like Nirvana, which rode three chords to fame and kept the fame because their singer ventilated his skull with a shotgun, should be a crime.

  • Nirvana was a punk band.. punk bands don't play super-complicated music.. and as far as ideology and aesthetic goes, they had some similarities. You don't have to like Nirvana, but to deny their overall impact is naive.

  • well said aicfan85. i don't necessarily like Nirvana, but they did have an impact on music.

  • Nirvana was grunge you r tard!

  • grunge was an offshoot of punk retard.

  • that's why its called grunge!

  • much to peoples confusion, punk is not a single genre. punk is more of a blanket term for a way of doing rock music. many sub-sub genres came out punk. grunge, hardcore, thrash, psychobilly, emo, twee, indie rock, ect and so on and so fourth.. grunge was created when hardcore punkers started listening to classic rock and 70s metal records and incorperated some of the riffs and lead breaks into punk music.. but before nirvana took off it was very much an underground thing associated with punk.

  • well some one did there home work!

  • @aicfan85 "Leather is corporate, mannnnnnnnn...you have to wear flannel, instead."

  • @aicfan85 Nirvana was not a punk band, they were grunge.

  • @TitoSilvey yeah. but some punk rock legend consider them as a punk...

  • @aicfan85 nirvana was more of a grunge band, i think

  • Robin Finck is my favorite guitarist...not because he can shred better than Slash, but just because he's crazy.

  • it was fucking bad ass how he slowed down those riffs in pinion! gotta love him!

  • it's not his job Trent take it from Bowie song and reverse it.

  • HEY GOD !

    Vive la boue !

  • Ouééééééééééééé

  • their was actually no sound in the beginning for more than 2 minutes before Pinion actually came on...

  • I'm pretty sure they covered themselves in mud before the show. Afterwords though, they regretted it... the said it was almost impossible to play with the mud in their eyes etc. (i think) lol

  • R...a...g...e.....

  • NIN is the greatest live show on earth. Trent Reznor is awesome. This is the best "band" arounda folks....

  • You speak the greatest truth, Sir.

  • ahh this WAS a peacefull occasion

  • watch him crawl :O

  • i like when trent is pissed off like this.

    =]

  • EVERYTHING Trent Reznor does is just so perfect it isn't funny. HE IS AMAZING. NIИ FOREVER

  • dude how did u flip your N for NIИ i had to copy paste just to do that can you do that with other letters

  • i dont think you can do it w/ other letters

  • yea but how did you make it go backward or did you just copy paste just want to know cause thats cool

  • go to 1.start menu 2.all programs

    3.accersories 4.system tools 5.character map

6.make the font say "Trebuchet MS" and look for the backwards И and copy it and you can use it whenever hope this helped

  • coo ill try that

  • ...my head is filled with disease, my skin is begging to breath, I´m on my hands and knees...I want so much to believe...

    Amazing, simply amazing

  • I really hate to say it man, but anyone with the name "mansonboy" will ALWAYS be the lesser of the opinions.

  • HA, this coming from "hankwilliams"?

  • Hank III??

Do some research first, little manson boy

  • I know who Hank III is, and that genre makes me sick.

Go wave your rebel flag somewhere else, I don't want to hear it.

I honestly couldn't care less what you think of my opinion, because I don't care about yours.

Why would you honestly think I would?

  • Alright little manson boy(I can tell right there your not the most popular kid in highschool whatsoever) since your sitll going to about it its evindent you DO care what I think. Thats the great part!

  • ...cause that makes sense somehow?

  • Yep.

  • Hatedisiese...Just..Jesus Christ..Okay first of all if you weren't 12 you'd know that MTV was cool back in the 90's and they weren't sold out and they actually played music.

God I hate you so much

  • Okay, I'm usually against violence but you mess with Trent your messing with every NIN fan ever.

    Hope you die.

And that I could assist in some way.

  • i remember seeing an interview where trent said he thought this performance was awesome, only to find out afterwards that the sound was crap. as you can tell here the synths, bass, and mics could've been worked on. the drums sounds massive though. i could be wrong . . . still one of the best bands ever

  • best concert perfomance ever. so great i mean this is the scariest set ever and the mud makes it even more menaceing its great

  • fuck u

  • That's the most ill founded opinion, like, ever. Hope you die.

  • so what is dark and not corporate bull shit? when my brother went to Iraq he saw what darkness really is its when you are so scared for your life that when some one comes up behind you instinctively rip there throat out before they pull the pin on an ied . darkness is when you have to kill a kid because he has an ak47 plastering bullets at your platoon that's what i think is dark

  • The only reason Trent did this was to help pay for a tour he did. He doesn't like big shows like this and if you know anything about him he's most definitely not any MTV puppet, and plus Terrible Lie isn't his most dark song. Listen to "Happiness in Slavery", or better yet watch the music video for it. Quit trying to bash something you know nothing about.

  • Hey buddy, wanna get kicked in the face?!

  • It's pretty hard to be the biggest douchbag on youtube, but youre getting there.

  • That was a reply to hatedisease by the way, the faggot probably watched 10 seconds of this vid then posted his blatently retarded response.

  • eh, you obviously know nothing about NIN's fanbase if you don't think we'll beat the shit out you. And since when have trent's songs been about him crying about a girl leaving him? that's emo territory shithead. Trent's songs are more likely about him going to kill her or something like that.

  • [In my best he-man voice]

    Tough and manly!

  • later Sue

  • happiness in slavery video. watch. fuck yourself. then die.

  • Yeah, Pinion is the best intro ever. But, Pinion into Wish is the best combo possible!

  • This was always a personal favorite of mine, Nine Inch Nails is an extremely underrated rock band, there live shows and videos are second to none. This song alone displays there dark lyrics and heart pounding beats quite well, if you cant get pumped up off of this song theres something wrong with you.

  • i fucking like it

  • Looks like the stage crew didn't like TR throwing the microphone stand with the microphone :)

  • Nine Inch Nails with Terrible lie in woodstock !!!!! so fucking awesome

  • haha talk about what trents been doing. well, theyve been great since the downward spiral but what has metallica been doing? St. Anger? i actually threw that cd away because it was garbage.

  • metallica sucks ass anyways

  • "i'm all alone in this fuckng world" :')

  • YOU FUCKING PROMISED ME!

  • that's hot

  • *toss*

  • Hahaha. I had to think about that for a second.

  • hahaha whips mic across stage

  • Actually I meant Metallica was a joke. NIN is now the most dynamic modern act going. Making their tracks completely open source, Year Zero lyrics were the most relevant thing Trent has ever written. The Slip is free. Metallica couldn't give me a free cd, they haven't been good since master of puppets. LOL

  • Finkinstein

  • odjazd

  • La VANGUARDIA es peligrosa. Música excepcional y músicos refinados. Bravo.

  • I saw this with my own 2 eyes and man ... Classic moment in rock and roll history when they came out as mud people, to pinion, after waiting for over an hour. Woooo surprised hell didn't erupt from the ground. Metallica had to follow this. hahahaha! What a joke.

  • Um... Actually they've got a huge fan base now and just released a new album earlier this month. They also ran a massively successful ARG for Year Zero, and also had a contest here on YouTube.

    You're a winner. Have a gold star.

  • yeah, haven't been good since the downward spiral... BULL SHIT X 3.

Trent's made 3 awesome albums, proven himself one of the most honest people in music, doesen't give his fans bullshit, and isn't afraid to say fuck you to the record company if his fans are getting screwed over.

And they're fanbase has practically trippled since this concert.

And metallica? well... load-st. anger... buh-bye old fans, hello posers. they may have more fans, but all of trent's are serious about him.

  • FCKING EPIC

  • los putos amos, sin mas....joder es la ostia!!!

  • I luv Fink's guitar in this ... AWESOME!

  • Man I just love it when Pinion slows r-i-g-h-t down like that.

  • Hell ya! Gives me goose-bumps everytime. Great show opener.

  • look at trent right before they start terrible lie...hes the man and he knows it haha

  • incredible show... I can't find it on the web ?! seems like there's no sources anymore.. anyone knows ?

  • Well woodstock 94' was on payper view so im sure some one just recorded

  • Is there somebody, who plays pinion, or it is just playback, while the band is beginning the show???

  • its a recording they playback. they still do it on some shows. one of the shows i saw on the with teeth tour had that audio playing as the intro.

  • it sounds like someone is playing it cause of the way it slows down. I recall they opened up their fragility tour concert with a manual playing of pinion ... then went right into Terrible Lie, just like this.

  • trent was great at this show I was in the same mud that he came out of rockin the f out good times!

  • it is flush

  • how do you know?

  • If you watch the video pinion its of black piss flushing down a tiolet

  • During the beginning of the song, are they screaming ACID ACID ACID!!!!? if so, fucking sweet

  • flush flush flush

  • good video

  • flush hlush flush? it sounds nothing like it

  • the "-id" in "acid" you hear, is the result of a hi hat percussion... tho the acid thing is funny if you have seen the "Broken" video for Pinion then "flush" would make more sense...I'm not at all trying to sound like a dick :)

  • riakun's auntie again... this by far is most certainly Trent's angriest Masterpieces.....

  • I like the cute little doves on the screen while pinion is playing... :P

  • the best...ive listened to this show like a 100 times cus i wish so desperately that i were there, trent reznor is the fucking man

  • BEST FUCKING SCREAM EVER!

  • OMG!!!! that scream at 2:54! BADASS!

  • yeahhhhhH!!!!!!

  • This has got to be one of their best shows ever. Every song in this set is delivered with such intensity and passion it's unbelievable.

  • One of the greatest performances of this song I have ever seen. Fantastic!

  • Seeing them covered in mud makes me think of the "piggy" theme. I wonder if it is intentional.

  • i get chills everytime i watch this. it must have been so fuckin kool to have been there. too bad i was only ten years old at the time and not into music.

  • I do agree that perfect drug was to me a song that seemed to be the end of a certain phase in what nine inch nails was at the time. He became this more calm artist, yet he still had the power to make these incredibly powerful songs. With teeth I think more illustrated his change. While I will say that it's not his be st, I will say I enjoyed Fragile and With teeth. I think it's harder for someone to judge the quality of trents progress musically starting with the new and going backwards.

  • your stupid everything he realeses is bad ass
