i just got fired today for being late. i just cant sleep at night i got problems. but it was the first time ive been fired and im glad i can relate to someone whos been fired before

I moved to Dallas on September 16, 1967, to take a job at Chas. Dennery Bakery Supply, Inc. as an order clerk. Paul R. Wallis was my supervisor. We got paid on the 15th and last day of the month. On November 15, Mr. Wallis handed me my check and said "that ain't the job for you". However, on November 29, 1967, I was hired on at Lone Star Gas Co. where I remained for 30 years until a merger with DP&L formed TXU and resulted in early retirement.
I got fired for requesting to have 10 minutes a day so I could eat my lunch. I made this request on a Friday. Monday morning the husband's wife sat me down to let me know they had given it some thought and that I was asking too much. I was so upset that the next day I called in to tell them so and by Wed morning I was fired. The good thing is I can now eat whenever I want, even if it's tuna from a can. And in case you're wondering I only weigh 109 and am 5ft. 2in. Doubt anyone wants to top this.
Never been fired from a job. I've been "let go" from a tech support call center that was closing it's doors, and I've had disagreements with management and left, but I haven't been fired...yet...

We received an answer back by the time we got to AZ and was told that the situation was taken care of and that they changed the firing to quitting. that sucks. ok heres mine. i got fired from one place because i wouldnt do something illegal for them. work out of state without a lisence to work in that state. another because i was accused of taking 60 grand from the safe and they had me on tape. i took them to court and just like that they lost the tape of course. now 500 thousand lawsuit pending agenst them if they tell another company i apply for and cant come up with the tape. i cant wait until they slip up.

Hi, My first job was at 16, in a furniture store. The boss was a real psychopath, he was horrible. If you did it right, he'd yell, if you did too much, he'd yell, if you did too little, he'd yell. After 6 weeks I figured it wasn't worth it, I QUIT! I was the first of 20 employees, 6 months later only one was left (she was the boss' "pet")... I never got fired though!

I gotcha beat on the pay; I started working at a roadside produce stand in 1978 for $1.65 per hour. Often worked 60 hours per week. I got fired from a gas station when I was 18 years old.

I gotcha beat on the pay; I started working at a roadside produce stand in 1978 for $1.65 per hour. Often worked 60 hours per week. I got fired from a gas station when I was 18 years old.

Nice graphic at the beginning. The only job I was ever let go from, it was a grocery store (my first job), and they said I was let go because my work was seasonal. I think it was really because of the rude caricatures I drew on a box or two of an office worker. :-) -- Matt

Gee, interesting employment history. I quit once at old WTGrant, but thinking through it; I don't think I have ever been fired per se. Now, I fire clients and they fire me at times, but I don't know if thats the same thing. Hmm, I am going to go think about this some more.

I applied for a job at a Sambo's in Northern Illinois when I was in high school.
I didn't get the job, but was hired by an A&W drive-in as a car hop. :)

MIKMA'S BACK! How are you doing? I've never been fired but at my last job which was similar to the first job you descrbied (dishes, waiting tables) I lasted a grand total of nine hours. Can anyone beat that?

My first job, other than babysitting, was waiting tables. It was a tiny cafe and there was more than once that I was left totally alone. So I took orders, cooked, waited tables, did dishes! I was 15 years old too!
The only time I was fired was when I told my boss that he was micro-managing me...Oops...
