Hey Brakeman Bill...He is the Man...I used to watch him every afternoon...Channel 11 they were the 1's to watch... we only had 5 or 6 channels to watch back then & my Patents color TV was a giant piece of furnature...The Funmikester
Very cool; when this aired I was still in high school and I didn't usually have a VCR(this was 2003 and most people still didn't haver DVD players yet) in my bedroom. But considering KSTW was a big part of my childhood and I live in Tacoma(the station was based in Tacoma for years) I asked my dad if he could hook up a VCR so I could tape this special, which he did.
@Nickle98499 My copy of this special starts at the history of the station though(the VHS tape I used cut off the opening and a little bit of the history of the station though); I even kept in all the commercials(again this was when I was in high school and didn't really feel like stopping the tape once the commercials came on); BTW, I still have both the VHS copy of the special and the DVD copy that I made of it(by burning the VHS to DVD).
@Nickle98499 Also when this aired it was during my senior year in high school, and after I finished taping this show I thought about taping the ABC 50th anniversary special(which aired the same night, both aired on a Sunday in May if I remember correctly), but I changed my mind soon after the ABC special started because I was sick as a dog that night, I missed a couple of days of school at the beginning of that week too because I was sick.
@Nickle98499 Which probably wasn't a good thing considering there was only about a month of school left at that point and I had to work on a few senior projects for some of my classes, but still; If I ever figure out how to post videos on here from a DVD I might post the entire special(Or at least most of it)on Youtube.
Back then, JP Patches and Brakeman Bill were told to stop advertising products during their shows because they were such an influence on kids. Nowadays, a lot of kids shows are basically 30 minute toy commercials. Kids today will never know what it was like to turn on the console TV, adjust the "rabbit ears" and watch Crazy Donkey pick on Brakeman Bill, or JP get hit in the face with another pie.
Omg how funny got jp and gertrude on it

Bill's so right, Fizzies were so foul! The logo hanging on the curtain during his final show is hilarious: "Brakemen Bill"??
