GM states that there were TWO ZL-1's made. These two cars both have all the paper work. Roger Judski and Ottis Chanler owned the second on. He has since died and the No. 2 car was sold. This so called third is a want to be, L-88. Who owns this third car? I hope it's not that gulf car. IT's A FAKE.......
I made a trip to Fla. to see the auction. This ZL-1 was seized in a drug bust, and the Federal marshals sold it at auction. Roger Judski got it for $425.000.00 if I remenber right, He wrote them a check. When they started bidding, it started out at 100,000.00 and went up from there. I have pictures of the sale. Great car.......Only TWO made, Both 4 speeds, NO TEE TOPS......a Yellow one and a White one. Stop in to his dealer ship in Mateland Fla.
This car was actually seized in a drug bust...and then bought legitamently...real piece of corvette history that car, and quite the background story to go with it...This car is the most famous of the few Zl-1's in existance...very classy car and well maintained...
i would love to put this car agenst a 2011 zr1 in the 1/4 mile and see who wins, the new zr1 is made for beeting everything on the streets and this is built to eat up everything in the 1/4 mile i would pay big bucks to see that race
580HP 6,600RPM a aluminom block that is 100LB Lighter than its cast iron sister, and if i can remember correctly, semi racing suspension and a few other goodies.
That orange gulf 1969 vette is a FAKE. I was there when Mr. Judski got this car in Fla. His ZL-1 is real. Two were made and I know were both ZL-1 s are. This orange gulf sticker car is a want -to-be car because the ZL-1's are worth big bucks. This orange car started out as an L-88 that is still worth money but it will never be a ZL-1. If you want a Numbers matching car you should have saved all the peper work. Lots of blown motors on this orange car , see this FAKE running on the video,69 ZL-?
I think that is Roger Judski in the white shirt and blue windbreaker going through the gate with his car. I was there when he bought this car from Federal marshell in Fla. at Cape Kenndy. This car was gotten in a Drug raid and they sold it to the high bidder........ROGER JUDSKI, he has a Corvette dealership in Mateland Fla. If I remember he got it for $425,000.00.
This is a True ZL-1, not like that FAKE one with a Gulf sticker on it from Pa. I know of two, Roger Judski from Fla. and the other one is white with black stripes, and is from Calf. It belongs to a Magazine mogel Ottis Chanler, he has a huge car collection. Both have 4 speeds and are hard-tops.........:)
