Very very Dope. many of the performing styles you presented is what I killed on the dance floor back in the days early to late 80's and early ninties until my life went sour but I'm back at the floor killing it again with the same and new moves from the old school foundation.. the newjacks just dont know who i am when > I kill it.
This looks like a reasonable video. How good is the instruction though? I've seen a lot of videos by a lot of good dancers, but they blaze through the moves and don't really break them down and explain them step by step. I find it really helpful if the moves are done slowly and the various aspects are explained before going at full speed. Too many videos just do the move full speed a couple of times and then move on.
@BUDDHASTRETCH68 - It would be tight if you could sell a vid tht break down the steps you demo. like how Wigz has Menu & Sessions. Not all teachers are created equal & Not everybody lives in nyc. check you tube and you will see how many iffy teachers are out there.
it doesnt say that he is doing the hip hop version. The DVD goes over hip hop, house, Locking, Popping and otehr styles. There are vocabulary sections for each. Its a great dvd.
A dancer understands that foundation is key, these styles started a long time ago, so movements come from a long time ago, it's still what it is regardless of the year it came out, they are not trends that get old bcuz they are played out. They are true dance styles. Respects to Stretch and the others appearing in the vid.
Stretch is a legend, and as much as he would never say that he created this or that, he is very important in the evolution of Hip Hop dance and movement on a world level. He's the 1st Hip Hop choreographer and still on top. Very few in the world can do all these street styles at all, let alone on a world class master level as Stretch.
Can I ask a serious question. What are the foremost requirements to be a good hip hop/ other styles dancer. Is flexibility an absolute? How do you loosen your joints to make them roll instead of staccato? As you can gather I'm way past it but who cares? Dancing in my era was so rigid. Now it's theatre so I have to know. Even if I dance alone I wanna learn!! Thank you.
if u say u have been dancin for years and dont know the difference between locking and popping, ur not a dancer. period! re-learn everythin u thought u knew. u gotta know facts of the dance before u can be a dancer and be respected as a dancer. peace
wats teh difference between popping and locking? i do both those types of moves when im dancing..... and the hip hop one isnt that just top rock? haha and house? wtf ive nver heard of that and ive been dancin for yyyyyeeeeeeaaaaarrrrrrssssss although mr wigggles is a beast, so that makes the video 5 stars awesome

Editing tip:
MUSIC IS TOO LOUD IN THE MIX!
You can not hear the interviews at all!
Bring down the music during the interview clips, then you can rise it back up during the dance sequences.
Thanks for the post nonetheless...
