  • i ran a 79 1.6 do the 1.8's use the same ratio gearboxes as 1.6? i know a mk1 cab w a 1.8 seemed really sluggish, and i assumed it was the gearbox. not sure if it had AC(cab), which could have been the issue.best little car ever made hands down, mk1 escort is up there too hehe.

  • It's the standard type 1800 8v tweeked a bit!.. it has 164hp at the wheels, 193hp at the flywheel.. hope that helps to start with.

  • hey that thing looks quick you said its a 1.8 8v.the differnce between the 1.6 and the 1.8 is 3hp or something like that. how did you tune it. u run webbers..thanks a put up a vid responce of mine..thanks

  • Cheers... it is indeed an 1800. it runs twin Weber 48's, a "very" big valve head, 318 degree race cam, 4-1 manifold, 2.5 inch system, forged (Cosworth) pistons, steel H section rods. It runs to 9K with peak power between 7,500-7,900 rpm. Yours looks cool, very nice indeed.
