i ran a 79 1.6 do the 1.8's use the same ratio gearboxes as 1.6? i know a mk1 cab w a 1.8 seemed really sluggish, and i assumed it was the gearbox. not sure if it had AC(cab), which could have been the issue.best little car ever made hands down, mk1 escort is up there too hehe.
hey that thing looks quick you said its a 1.8 8v.the differnce between the 1.6 and the 1.8 is 3hp or something like that. how did you tune it. u run webbers..thanks a put up a vid responce of mine..thanks
Cheers... it is indeed an 1800. it runs twin Weber 48's, a "very" big valve head, 318 degree race cam, 4-1 manifold, 2.5 inch system, forged (Cosworth) pistons, steel H section rods. It runs to 9K with peak power between 7,500-7,900 rpm. Yours looks cool, very nice indeed.

It's the standard type 1800 8v tweeked a bit!.. it has 164hp at the wheels, 193hp at the flywheel.. hope that helps to start with.
