  • Not bad. But I like the piano solo of this piece by Keisuke Nakagoshi much better. I'm 50/50 on like or dislike.. so I'll leave the buttons alone.

  • A perfect pairing of Eastern and Western cultures. Beautiful.

  • Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber and beautifully arranged by Sakamoto Sam. Pure Beauty!!.

  • From 4:00 you can feel, better to say you can see ( i close my eys evry time) the pain, sadnes, fillings, colors...

  • what a difficult piece to give a 'personal touch'. mr sakamoto always surprising. a masterpiece so well composed and arranged still had the chance under such incredible hands of a very subtle 'version'

  • Saboroso...

  • SE QUE SIGO VIVA, SOLO ME HACE FALTA ESCUCHAR ESTE ADAGIO, PARA VOLVER A ESTREMECERME

  • so quite and calm.. I love it.. :)

  • 3 dislikes.....nice try justin bieber...

  • Música del alma.....

  • Very intriguing combination of Western & Asian elements.

The lamentation of the string is almost heart wrenching ...

Sakamoto and your pictures matches, as much as can.

  • Dear Youtube, please remove the 'dislike' button and replace it with an "OMG I love it' one.

  • @Chanmin2007nz Well, they can keep the dislike button but there is no use for it on this track.

  • Christ, what's up with this delicious music?

  • @HaydieB Hello, this is Christ. Yes, well, as for your question, "What's up?" OK. Let me put it like this: Sakamoto is one of our experiments gone somewhat wrong, you see, and yet he has become loved by morons. My father, God, and I created him to marry Eastern and Western music togeher, hopefully so that his work would reflect the best of both. The opposite happened, but idiots love him anyway--(like you). It is embarrassing for God and me.

    Cheers.

  • @HaydieB Thanks, Haydie, for being tickled by my little witticism, but I feel like I am the Moron, now, myself, for two reasons:

    1) I gave this piece three careful listens--and it is really extraordinary--Sakamoto didn't write it, but did a wonderful job arranging--and, anyway, I now know, has written some great stuff himself--

    2) Sakamoto's work was good enough for the likes of Bertolucci, (Director, "The Last Emporer"), one of the best verbal and visual poets ever.

    The kid is good..

  • OMG. Beautiful.................. :))

  • fantastic

  • One of my favorite songs ever performed by one of the greatest musicians any of us will ever see in our lifetime. Truly pricless!

  • この曲のおかげで僕は二胡を始めたんだよなあ。

    今思えばこの曲で使用されているのは低音二胡(二泉二胡かも)ですね。

  • Is this from Ryuichi's album Beauty?

  • Thank you for the great upload. Is this available anywhere?

  • 映画プラトーンのテーマ曲としても有名ですよね。映像も、静謐さを漂わせた二胡とピアノの演奏も素敵でした!

  • ..bellissime immagini in musica. *****
