  • ***BREAKING NEWS***

Two days ago, 500 monks from Drepung Monastery marched to Lhasa to protest the Chinese government's rule.

Yesterday, 600 monks from Sera Monastery did the same.

Today we are getting news that Ganden monks have joined the growing protests.

The Chinese government has arrested many of these monks.

We must show our solidarity with their brave actions.

  • Oh god, I am listening to the lyric and cant stop crying.....

"The leader of humans is gone and you cant see him no matter how much you wish..."

"miwan shenpei lag la shor song, jel doed kyang jel sa med" (human right is now in the hands of the butchers, you can't meet the "leader" no matter how much you wish)...

god and dieties bear witness to this injustice...for justice I pray....

  • poor Tibet, it isn't fair! uhg...But I do really love this song. Thanks for posting :3

  • Evakorn, Tibet had all the attributes of a state, except the unambiguous recognition of the major powers. That is because of power politics not a reflection of empirical reality. I don't need to get into details. I will be wasting my time on a mental slave. Your's is a fantasy induced by having your head stuck in your ass and having to smell the stench of Chinese imperialist propaganda for so long. Even freedom is not enough to dispell your ideological stupour.

  • What attributes? You mean the attributes like so far only ONE passport could be found from a so-called NATION of 2-4 million Tibetans (D'sala can't even tell roughly how many people were in Pre-'50 Tibet). Yeah....You guys ain't like travel before the '50s but somehow you liked inviting the Nazis to attend the Losar celebration in Lhasa in 1938.

  • Many of the so-called states today are worse off than Tibet before 1950. What is the figure of 6 million that the Tibetan government claims? Remember, Nazis were also in China. Have you forgotten that the Nazi John Rabbi saved thousands of Chinese in Nanjing.History is more complicated than your peanut of an imperialist mind can fathom.

  • John Rabe,I mean.

  • i love this song very much.this is genga best song for me.love from china tibet.

  • Dorjelee

What do you mean? He is singing for Tibetans. He is generating the helplessness of Tibetan people. He is talking about no human rights in Tibet. How poor your understanding is. He modified Chinese people as "Chamba" and "Xinba". I love it, too.

  • Tibet had long losts its nationhood. The entire international community never recognized Tibet as a sovereign nation. So how could it be an independent country?

  • You know very well that this all because of power politics. If Tibet was powerful and was seen to have oil and other resources and if water was seen as important as it now it, things would have been different.

  • Of course this is power politics. If China hadn't turned Communist, CIA would have helped KMT assassinate HHDL like how they assassinated South Vietnam President Diem in 1960!

  • Pure fantasy! Which world are you in? Why?

  • The fantasy is not as weird as you guys who think Tibet was an independent country.

  • Since Tibet had already been a part of China before PRC was established, so how could China "invade" Tibet in 1950 since they were parts of the same country?

The best term to describe the military conflict should be "civil war".

  • Read further what US State govt said about the status of Tibet:

U.S. acceptance of China's claim of sovereignty over Tibet predates the establishment of the People's Republic of China. In 1942, we told the Nationalist Chinese government then headquartered in Chongqing that we had "at no time raised question" over Chinese claims to Tibet.

  • Here is what US State Dept said further about the status of Tibet:

In 1942, we told the Nationalist Chinese government then headquartered in Chongqing (Chungking) that we had "at no time raised (a) question" over Chinese claims to Tibet. Because we do not recognize Tibet as an independent state, the United States does not conduct diplomatic relations with the representatives of Tibetans in exile.

  • China invaded Tibet.

It's obvious that officially, America and other states regard Tibet as part of China.

We are talking about a fact that Tibet was an independent country, China invaded it and now H.H. is trying to get at least an autonomous region.

  • Since 1793, China had dispatched a governor in Tibet, chose the succession of the Dalai Lamas (10th, 11th & 12th), and stationed troops there.

If Tibet had a governor in Beijing, chose the successor of Chinese emperor and stationed troops there, then I would say China was a part of Tibet.

    But it is vice versa.

  • okay lets put this way; King Songtsen Gampo married a chinese princess and a nepalese princess. That makes both Nepal and China part of Tibet. But we are not that greedy like you chinese, appointing a governor doesnt make tibet a part of china.

America had stationed troops on Iraq and chosen the govenrment, but no one declared it as a part of America.

And who told you the 10th, 11th and 12th Dalai Lama were chosen by China? your chinese history teacher maybe?

  • Shalin:

As late as Aug 1949, China still chose the 10th Panchen Lama. Dalai Lama didn't meet him until 1952. The top lamas were always chosen by China. Of course, D'sala wouldn't tell you guys the TRUTH.

  • ewa: the Dalai Lamas in Tibet r not chosen easily like your chairperson. They r chosen by tibetan, after undergoing religous procedures. So how can China, who have no religion, choose the above Dalai Lamas? O wait! Do you know how China choose the 10th panchen lama? They used a jar, filled it with kids names and picked one.

Maybe they did the same with above Dalai Lamas.

  • Why dont you go ask your communist government, about The Panchen Lama choosen by H.H. Dalai Lama? Ever since China kidnapped him, no one knows anything about him.

  • Anybody knows that that Dalai Lama is a "God King" -- political + religious leader. The Shamanist Qing Emperor chose the Dalai Lama, the Confucian ROC chose the Panchen Lama, and why can't the atheist PRC choose the Dalai Lama?

  • "ANybosy?" it's only you. I heard such BS for the first time from your mouth.

Chinese government itself didnt came to such low level.

The atheist China can go choose their own Dalai Lama, and shock the world. If you want to have more details on how they choose Dalai Lamas. Type Dalai Lama in Chinese Google and click serach. This is how they appoint the Dalai Lama.

  • The current Iraqi govt is democratic-elected and not appointed by US.

If the current Iraqi govt is appointed by US, then I would say Iraq is a part of US.

  • Is Tibetan culture independent from Chinese culture?

Dalai Lama said in the SCMP interview that Tibetan culture is part of Chinese culture.

Either he or our fellow poster is lying.

  • the date, time, venue and exact words of H.H. the Dalai Lama from the interview?? He never said such thing. Chinese culture and Tibetan culture are completely different since centuries..

  • March 14, 2005-- published on SCMP

"This is the message I wish to deliver to China. I am not in favour of separation," the Dalai Lama was quoted yesterday as saying. "Tibet is a part of the People's Republic of China. It is an autonomous region of the People's Republic of China. Tibetan culture and Buddhism are part of Chinese culture. Many young Chinese like Tibetan culture as a tradition of China."

  • South "CHINA" morning "POST". lol. that says all.

  • You are funny in assuming anything with the name "China" must be printed in China. It is not. Check it out.

  • Funny such an important statement of Dalai Lama was printed only in a chinese post. Other newspapers must be deaf.

  • SCMP is a English newspaper with a British editor-in-chief. Of course you never bother to find out.

  • Of course. The whole world is not with Tibetan cause. and that's why we are still here arguing about Tibet's independence.

  • Was Tibet an independent nation? Read what US State Dept said:

The United States considers the Tibet Autonomous Region or TAR as part of the PRC. This longstanding policy is consistent with the view of the entire international community, including all China's neighbors: no country recognizes Tibet as a sovereign state. Moreover, U.S. acceptance of China's claim of sovereignty over Tibet predates the establishment of the People's Republic of China.

  • United states considered america as thier own country when they first landed on it. But guess what, there were native people already residing.

  • This must be a fake video.

According to Dalai Lama, cultural genocide is implemented in Tibet thoroughly and there is no way you can learn Tibetan language there.

So isn't it fishy that this Tibetan guy in China can sing Tibetan song?

Either it is fake or someone must be lying.

  • put a photo of Dalai Lama in the video and the next day u will find urself in prison. Besides, making a video is not a culture.

  • that is why H.H. Dalai Lama is no more asking for independence but just autonomy and human rights for the tibetans. and I dont know why, but the chinese government's still being a coward.

  • beautiful

  • Hey u ,,,have u ever seen Sanskrit (Classical Indian language)? Look at them and then tell us.Tibetan language, literature, history and culture is 100% different from Red Chinese. No matter how much you shout ...No one can change the truth. And the truth is Tibet was an independent country. Read proper history books not something written under the pressure of a gun. Watch out every thing seems fake from China!!

  • Go check it out. All lingustics experts classify Chinese and Tibetan under the category of "Sino-Tibetan languages". Tibetan looks like Sanskrit -- does not mean that it is an Indian language.

  • I never said our language was Indian's! Tibetan language is the language of tibetans, just like chinese language to chinese people.

Tibetan is derived from sanskrit and Chineses' not. This already prooves how our culture differs from each other.

  • Go read what the linguistics experts say before you further BS here.

  • "Sino-Tibetan" language. The experts had to describe because when we look at atlas map, we see Tibet as a part of China. Please dont let me remember you again that Tibet was invaded by China. They dont understand what we say, for them our(yours and mine) language are just some mysterious language with some strange characters.

In the past, Vietnamese and Mon-Khmer languages were considered. And this oviously doesnt mean Vietnam and India are part of China.

  • You imperialist piece of shit! So Hindi, Sanskrit and Latin-based European languages are grouped as Indo-European. Tibetan and Burmese are classified as Tibeto-Burmese language groups. It does not mean any of these languages are part of something else. They are just conceptual devices for scholarship. They do not carry any political connotations...unless of course you are busy little imperialist!

  • kunga la,true tibetan mozart falls on you, your deep voices and flames of heart keeps touch us even a geographically distance.when your deep lyrics passes into my ear, pearls of tears rolls on my cheek reveals, how your songs touch in my heart.your voice is indentity, master, inspirator and pioneer.

  • WOW GREAT TALENT KHAMPAS RULE

  • I wonder if there are any good resources out there for learning Tibetan? I have found a couple of books, but I rely on songs to hear pronunciation. Can anybody help me?

  • I'm not Tibet and I don't understand what he's saying, but I love this music and the song. Where could we find his music?

  • to my multiplysite

  • Kunga thanks for this great song,i heard you sing live in chengdu and met you i love your songs,Tibetan singers in tibet rock specially the Khampa singers you all are so talented with such good voice

  • I don't like this tin tin tun ton tin tin. this monotonous sound of tin ton tun destroys the whole song. Otherwise I like this song

  • Wow. Kunga is such a good singer. Wow I'm impressed how beautiful it is.

  • I love your song very much

  • Kungala, You have been inspiratuon to people in Tibet. TSERING GOD BLESS YOU> KUNCHOG KYAP

  • I am not sure Kunga believes in God. He seems like he believes in something different.

  • English Translation this song:

My debt of my kind parents

From here I want to repay

But they left for the unvoidable, the other world

Desired to repay, but no where to repay

  • Great song!!! Love it!

  • Tibetan Music Awards 2007

Best Male Singer: Kunga Phuntsok, Tibet

Best Song: Yi re kyo: Kunga Phuntsok

  • China you have lost your soul You are loosing your international face. The concept of any society

is one based on fair play, and you are only cheating yourselves of a future. Please leave Tibet and show the world that you can be great! and that you can act in the the interest of humanity. This would be your GIFT to the World Beijing Olympics 2008 Would,nt this be a first for Mankind.

  • Where are from?UK?USA?JAPAN?OK just ignore them,if you are from Tebet, please respect your motherland which breeded you so tenderly during those difficult yreas! If you are not, please leave this dull topic, it's none of your bussiness to step in other country's affair!Tebet belongs to China since BC60. do you think Alaska should belongs to Canada since its geographical position is seperated from USA' magor part? your crazy saying founded on no reason!

  • Yo Sunway008,

Are you hallucinating and wandering on the streets like a homeless here? You don't even know how to spell TIBET. That itself tells a lot about you. ahahahha. Don't you recall that Tibetan army bursted into the capital of Tang dynasty and showed how powerful they were? Maybe you have selective memory for which only psychologist maybe able to help you.

  • Hi sunway008,

What are those primitive characters like bird's footprints? My Tibetan language is made up of alphabets like major advanced languages in the world. Your English is worse than the students of 2nd grade here in the States. So learn to write English. I know you won't be able to speak comprehensible English in this lifetime because you were born with a language that lacks a lot of syllables.

  • what puzzled me is whether u r some stowaway from tibet to US, and now leading a too bad life in some slum of america, ahaha. Maybe hardship has worn u out and shatteredur reason and intellect, so illusion began to affect ur nerve. u r sick, quite sick! i do think it is very important for u to see a phychologist as u once advised to me.

  • it occures to me nobody seems to be fond of learning tibetan language, instead, more and more people from different parts of the world r learning Chinese.plz stop arguing such silly question in an vain attempt. The fact is that tibet does belong to PRC, today it's still staying close to her mother China. it's not ur random will to seperate them!

  • Hi sunway008,

Who in Alaska is arguing that they belong to Canada? Ask the same question as to why Taiwan belong to China. Tibet doesn't belong to China. We Tibetans don't like you ugly chinos messing up our pure environment in Tibet. If Tibet belonged to China then why Communist China had to force Tibetans to sign 19951 treaty? If Tibetans in Tibet are happy, then why China gov has to put strict restriction on Tibetans in Tibet?

  • i see no reason that ur english is better than me. it's ridiculous to compare a non-english speaking person with a native.english is quite easy to learn mainly because it's only a simple combination of different letters, i just pick them up over a cup of coffee, and then i made it!

  • as far as ur tibetan language, i bet u mustnt have graduated from a kindergarten, anybody knows that it belongs to sino-tibetan language. u can consult to a liguist. since they r a family how could u make such audacious judgement that it's an advanced language.

  • you stupid fuker.tibet is belong to tibetan.since this world begin.what you are talking about.you red chinese thank to our tibetan people and get out form our native country tibet. long live tibet and our country

one day we tibetan people defect you fucker chinese form our mother land.once again you stupid don't ever think that our native country never ever belong to chinese.

  • what are you talikng about china.they killed there own people like an ants. did you remember those innocent people die in beijing.if your country is good then why lot's of fucker chinese came in my mother land.step off from my mother land tibet.

  • sunway008:

    TEBET maybe part of China.

But TIBET is not part of China. The Chinese invaded it. Tibet belonged to tibetans for every BC years and AC.

  • tibetan own the right of tibetan land , not china or chinese although iam chinese , but my conscience know the truth.

  • If Tibet were never a part of China, then why did the 13th Dalai Lama need to stage a coup in 1912 and attack the Chinese troops in Lhasa and declare independence? Independence from Who if it were not a part of China?

  • the chinese troop entered in Tibet when it was still independent, so H.H. the 13th Dalai Lama had to do what was necessary.

Independence from inavsors u fool. what would u do if ur neighbor beat up ur family and throw u out of ur own home? would u just sit and say, this is life?

  • sorry. invaders.

  • Read history pls.

When Lhasa was besieged by Mongol army in 1720, Tibet begged for Chinese troops.

When Lhasa was besieged by Nepal Army in 1792, Tibet begged again for Chinese troops.

When they didn't like Chinese troops, the Tibetans launched a surprise at Chinese troops in Lhasa in 1912.

  • o please. If you read one sided chinese version history, you will only know what you think you know.

  • So what is your side of the history???

  • Are you nuts?

You were saying Tibet is a part of China. But, your history version is prooving Tibet and China as two different countries, and when Tibet had difficulties, China helped it.

    dude, make up ur mind!

  • Kunga la makes everyone absolutely happy and reminded of our status.Keep it up Kunga la.

  • hello songers, you guys did a good jobs
