The fruit of the Spirit is self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). As we follow the Spirits lead, He will give us the power to better control our own selves. Hypnosis involves the transfer of control away from ourselves to another person/spirit.
Many of the techniques used in hypnosis are shared by mystical, philosophical, and religious systems, including the occult. The father of hypnotism, Franz Anton Mesmer—from whose name we get the word mesmerize—was himself a practitioner of the occult. His method of inducing a trance was very similar to the way a medium conducts a séance. Hypnotism, along with yoga and transcendental meditation, has always been linked to spiritual darkness.
What about lamaz classes? Is that the same thing? Because the hypno class that I am going to take is exactly like a lamaz class. They focus on breathing and focusing your mind on something OTHER than pain.
Yeah haha its kind of funny when I tell people that...I really thought I would have gained alot more so far but Im glad Ive only gained 1 now, I lost one and gained one back haha. GOD BLESS ALWAYS!
My biggest fear with having a natural birth is, what happens if something goes wrong and you need a c section immediately and because you had no epidural etc they would have to put you to sleep and you would miss your baby being born!! That would freak me out! But i know, once the baby is born healthy and we are both safe thats all that matters.
Very understandable fear. And definately something worth asking about if you were considering a natural birth. But the place that I am birthing at, if they need to do an emergency C section. The hospital part is five minutes away and my birthing center midwife be with me. Also, at the hospital CAPE CORAL HOSPITAL they wont take the baby out of the room even when there is aC section done. SO Im thankful for that.

This is my first baby, we just got the home study course for hypnobirthing ourselves (we were also worried about the "hypnotizing thing), we both are in music ministry, and we are also within days of each other. I am glad I found your site. Can't wait til the next video.
Good for you!! My body wouldn't dilate at all last time, even at 41 weeks. Ahh I hate my prenatals too they're HUGE! I never even thought about cutting them in half lol. Aww baby belly looks wonderful!

That is what Im going to do. I think it sounds great! But I am definately going to test out the class and BE SURE it is safe and isnt going to go against my beleifs! Its neat to meet someone with the same beliefs!

The newfound respectability of these practices has not changed their underlying nature.
A christian should under NO CIRCUMSTANCES participate in hypnosis. PERIOD.
