  • what part of body is that :S ?

  • Why do they leave it open like this and not close it up?

  • oh so its on your ass?

  • ZOMG HE HAVE 2 ASSES !! RUN PEOPLE !!

  • i had my surgery done 2 weeks ago and i feel pretty good. I got the surgery i think it was called lancing im not sure but i have a big cavity above my butt crack so what they do is pack it with gause and clean it. my sister does the packing and a nurse comes 2 a week and I go to the doctor 1 a week or a week and a half. i suggest if you think you have one get the surgery done yeah i was scared and didnt do anything untill the pain didnt even let me stand up right. got questions cvrv.11@gmail.com

  • hey man, i feel your pain, i had mine taken out 3 weeks ago and the drainage is terrible. how long did it taken for it to completely close up? did the draining stop before it completely healed? Ive seen your year and a half later video but did it close up before then?

  • Sorry to keep bugging you! For 6 years my tailbone hurts to sit, laydown & walk! A MRI just showed some arthritis! So I just accepted it, BUT you can feel a hard plum sized lump. A ultrasound saw a "boney growth" since then I have had steroid injections into this - which were BEYOND painful! I STILL have this "thing" looking at your videos, I'm starting to think that it might be this! Did your tests show similar things &would you do this again? thankyou

  • @bambis46 I had a colonoscopy at one point but everything was normal. I also had the lump, which was extremely painful at times. Have any of your healthcare providers considered a pilonidal cyst? It's been a while since I've been on here, so I apologize if I've missed one of your previous posts.

  • @bambis46 You have a tail bro. Loooool

  • @caractucus4 I was wondering why I started scratching behind my ear!!!!!! LOL

  • So ur talking and someone is filming ur ass.....akkkkkkkkkward

  • @davidization6 Hopefully it's for the good of other pilonidal sufferers.

  • I just today found out that I had this and im gomna make an appointment for surgery asap, do they put u to sleep wen do the surgery? How long does it usually take heal? Do u have to lay in a certain position for awhile? Sorry for all the questions but im kinda nervouse about it

  • is this gunna happen for the rest of your life it flairs up all the time

  • @gavman21734 So far I've been healed for a couple years now. I'm hoping I won't have any more flair ups.

  • My hubby had that. You need someone to do the dressing change, don't just let it heal by itself. Bandages need to be stuffed in, one has to be both in and out or just the top grows shut and the secretions can't drain.

  • OHMYGOD/ my pilonidal sinus yesterday some of the stitches came apart and it created a hole and i can see the flesh it looks sooo disgusting and the nurse said it will have 2 heal by itself from the inside

  • wow this is nothing like mine. got it lanced and drained. then surgery about 3 weeks later. stitched it up with about 12 stitches. I had to lay on my stomach for about 4 days but other than that it wasn't too bad. i can't even imagine having it left open to heal from the inside out

  • MY BIGGEST ADVICE TO EVERY PERSON WHO HAS OR EVEN THINK HE/SHE HAS PILONIDAL CYST, PLZ PLZ PLZ CHECK WITH UR DOC COZ U WOULDNT WANT IT TO GROW BIGGER, COZ F IT DOES THEN IT WILL HURT MORE AND RECOVERY TIME WILL BE LONGER N TRUST ME ITS NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE

  • @viperdriver89

    you are right

i had my operation to have it removed on wednesday and ive got post op depressionkeep crying all the time

it sucks and the stitches hurt a lot

  • @mattie4lucas

Hang in there bro, its painful but hang in there, a week after surgery i could walk n drive properly

  • I just had surgery 2 weeks ago, and omg the first dressing 2 days after surgery was the most painful experience of my life, never have i felt pain like that, i literally cried n have been goin to the clinic everyday for dressing, the first 2 or 3 days is hell n i was unable to walk properly or even sit, but now i can drive, walk, sit n everythings goin gr8 but still cant exercise n the daily routine of goin to the clinic every single day is just tiring but by time u just live with it

  • You will all be glad to hear that having this done isn't usually painfull.. the deep they go the less painful it is the pass your nerves so you don't feel anything... really it feels like your Butt is normal and half the time you can't feel them poking around on it... Mine is 1 CM deep and goes three CM's on both sides deep under my skin, if it were a clock it would be from 2 til 9 around... And it doesn't pain really at all...

  • I just got mine done , its 3 and 1/2 inches long 2 inches wide and one inch and 1/2 deep ...I have had this for 11 years , it wasnt active for the last 4 years , and then it happened in the summer of 2010.. why all this just for an ingrown hair? Omg and then I have the home nurse that doesnt know anything about this and is very unprofessional. Be aware always do you home work on this kind of stuff because its surprising how many people think they know thier jobs and really dont know a thing!

  • I couldn’t believe how many people actually have this! Almost everyone I talk to about it knows someone or has already got theirs removed. But they are really quiet about it lol like it's something that people should not be embarrassed about!! If you discover you have this keep it cool it looks way worse than it is, For the most cases it is not life threatening, just a huge inconvenience. Just get get it done don’t wait 11years like I did… get it fixed the first sign of occurrence  :)

  • Hi, i have just had a second operation on mine as the first op wasn't enough - the Consultant said he had to go deeper and the hair Pilonidal sinus were deeper and coursing the infection - i was in Hospital over night but the op only took an hr. I am now off for two weeks but have to lay down most of the time or keep shifting the way i sit as it does get painful...

  • its a very simple sugary < its good not to have it stitched as many said it heals from inside and work its way to the surface. mine like that with a a huge hole left, and had to change the packing everyday . a nurse came to my house (THANK GOD SHE WAS HOT, hot to the level that i hope i wasn't showing my ass to her every frickin day! but over all it got healed. had it about 4 years ago and no problems after that.

  • it's ok..At first i war realy embarrashed because nurses saw me naked too but now i got used to it and i'm kind of like it..lol :)

  • To everybody who has the same problem dont be embarrashed about that.Go to your parents and tell them about it.3 weeks ago i was so embarrashed to tell my parents about it because i'm only 16 but now i'm thankfull for doing so.You may suffer the first week but believe me it's better to suffer for a week than the rest of your life. When i showed it to my father he told me that it was nothing and that is very common for my age and tolled me not to worry. You may be seen naked by a lot of people but

  • yup deff delt with this crap for about 2 years, 9 surgeries later im finally healed!! i had a plastic surgery and i hope that if you still god this dam thing you look it up! i hated this cyst!

  • Thanks a lot for these vids, I had mine done last week after having the sinus for over ten years. The Doctor said the had never seen one so large before, it actually entered deep u-turned and came to the surface again so at one end I have a hole like you and at the other stiches to keep it closed.

I was terrified seeing your first vid but now seeing the process up to this one I'm very much relieved.

  • bodytranslator - search for this word in google

  • OMG....I'm 16 and i have the same problem too...thankfuly mine is like in this video...i mean small, and i think i have it over a year now..I remember only 3 thinks about this thing : 1 fall with my butt on the floor from a 2 metre height(sorry for bad english) 2 there was a spot/curve?!!!on the butt crack 3 finaly these holes..lol..I'm so embarassed to tell my parents..i have a girlfriend who leaves in 3 weeks and i will see her on easter and schools start in less than a month..what can i do ?

  • @Predator2010GR hey i don't know if anyone answered your question... but i got my surgery a month ago after having small cysts for the past few years and never thinking anything of it, and then getting a much bigger one within the past few months... it became big, ugly, and uncomfortable so i had it checked out. you really should also, the recovery was painful, but painkillers work like a charm! once the stiches are out, the pain is ultimately gone... i'm still recovering

  • @Predator2010GR but the stitches are out and i'm doing much better, walking, sitting, doing simple things around the house... it's only embarrassing the first time, once you accept the fact that it's better to have it taken out, all of that is gone =] i'm a girl, i felt super embarrassed to even tell my friends, but these things happen... your health is more imporant! i hope you get/got it checked out and good luck with everything!

  • @silentxinsanityy hey thx....i had the surgery 3 weeks ago and now everything is perfect!! I can do whatever i want like i've never had the surgery. My sergeant made a quaite big and deep hole on my butt crack...it had the size of an orange and maybe a bit smaller...but now it has the half size and i feel almost completely nothing. The first week was painfull but it was worth. The hole is healing fast.

  • @Predator2010GR no problem, i thought you might not have gone yet haha so i just thought id encourage you =) so glad to hear everything is going well for you now,

  • I have a cyst i think. its super tiny, ive had it for a while and it like closes and opens up. is that good?

  • @Britannic1915 better to go to the doctor and have them look at it, if they say it's not a big deal, you have nothing to worry about =]

  • theres a new procedure to treat this bastard cyst.. its called "marsupialization" or something like that ... its more comfortable safe and without almost any pain.. besides doesnt leave you a second hole besides your anus.. mine is programmed for next week

  • it looks like a buttcrack

  • i had this surgery a almost 2 years next month.... still not all way healed.... my doc keeps opening me up..... and i had to lay on my side for lik 3 weeks straight.... driving is a bitch you feel every single crack in the road.... and when you do your doc visits you will be in so much pain you go weekly......and yea dont go back to work for a while trust me,,,, once you have this surgery do everything you can not to get it infected or you gotta start all over....

  • i had this surgery a almost 2 years next month.... still not all way healed.... my doc keeps opening me up..... and i had to lay on my side for lik 3 weeks straight.... driving is a bitch you feel every single crack in the road.... and when you do your doc visits you will be in so much pain you go weekly......and yea dont go back to work for a while trust me

  • i have a cyst on my butt and im scared shitless im only 16 some one help me

  • @18438 all good dont stress because you are young if you get into it early there a better chance of it re ocuring.. good luck

  • Id laugh if he/she farted XD

  • oh my. im scheduled to have this surgery next friday and i am scared to death. any insight on the pain factor? one of my biggest issues is how the hell am i supposed to sit? and i REALLY wana go back to work ASAP . you can send me a message if you like. thanks.

  • @candee312 I'd just recommend taking your pain meds on a regular schedule, particularly during the first week. Not sure what type of work you are doing, but I was off work for 2 weeks. Good luck!

  • @candee312 believe it or not i didnt take any pain meds after my surgery ( on day 3 now) an ya it was as big as this guys. i dont no if it depended on the doctor or the method of extraction but na it seriously looked alot worse that it was. i almost freaked out looking at it in the mirror after a shower because i jus wasnt expecting to see that when the it wasnt hurting me that much

  • @candee312 Me to man i am going today to set surgery date this is so scay i mean ive had it lanced twice nothing like this though it looks so painfull and i cannot even think about it let alone look at this without getting sick good luck. Well given the date how did it go?

  • everybodys comments were vary helpful in prepairing for my surgury one month ago but suprisingly there has been absolutly zero pain befor during or after . i was up walking arround the day of my removal and riing my dirtbike befor my stiches were out the only thing that caused any discomfort was the resparator it felt like whiplash but healing is slow and

  • is that on ur arrs?

  • Hii

This is my second week after the surgery and theres no major pain. I was wondering how did u handle the recovery period? I know for me its a bit depressing and just trying to get through the 8 week period untill we beging to see more noticiable results

  • I've got some moderate drainage from a sinus and REALLY want to avoid surgery. My doctor has tried Batrum and Celflex (Calflex?) and it started to clear up, then it drained with a vengance. I was hoping to join the Air Force, but it seems like this is a disqualifier.

  • Yes it is, you would have to get it removed first, I am getting my consultation tommorow and I put it off for so long, might as well get i now then wait a few years down the road when the side effects get ever worst.

  • The only thing I'm concerned about is the months and months of healing. Perhaps I have a minor case which would require minimal surgery and minimal healing time? MAYBE?!

This thing is pure evil. :P

  • @BlackCrow1515

i went to the doc today he gave me the bad news that i might have to get surgery too :(

  • You know... it really surprises me how many people have this thing. It makes me wonder how many of them go unreported.

  • they are fucked bastards. i never had any pilo cyst at these extremes but ive had my pain with them. mine always goes away for months and comes back for months but not in any serious condition.

  • On this vid is that a mans Bum?

  • i was a senior in high school when i got mine...i played football and i figured it was a broken tailbone...so i just toughed the pain out for a week until it got unbearable then one morning as i noticed i was bleeding...i only had to be cut on once but had to go to the doctor every day for a month to get it packed...i can honestly say that it was the worst pain of my life.

  • @southernsportsweekly was the surgery and post surgery painful?

  • my surgery was...just because the stuff the dr. used to num it came flowing out when he cut into the cyst so i could feel everything he was doing...but afterwards with a lot of pain killers i was fine...and a day later all the pain was gone...

  • @southernsportsweekly

i have one right now! and it comes back i dnt wanna get surgery cause i dnt wanna miss football in college im a senior in high schooll right now

  • also if it is on the side of ur cheek lay with that side down an wrap u leg around a pillow, or get a warm or hott bath it will relax you alot, sometimes will even make u fall asleep. keep it covered with a bandage, because the dye from your clothes can make it infected faster. but make sure u get it checked asap, because the infection can get in your blood an make ur body temp shoot up, n you can not get it down, trust me it happened right befor my last surgery...

  • i had one of these, i had 2 have 6 surgeriez an 1 major wich was a yr ago n a few days... but if u catch it while its early they will lance it an give anti-biodics usally bactrum or calflex ect, an hopefully it will go away... if not thats when they perform surgeries... an yes its very very painful, has an awful smell, cant go to sleep because u cant get comfortable... try to put a pillow under ur butt while laying on your back, so your lower back will be proped so it wont hurt as bad...

  • dude mine is very very small (i just noticed it about 3 days ago, and it formed a sinus and began to drain the night before last. jeez that stuff is sharp smelling. question.. i see that a lot of poeple say that doctors wont do anything if it's small (about the size of a pea) but its VERY painful... i actually thought i had randomly broken my tailbone at first.

  • One of the first doctors I saw about this said that as long as it wasn't causing me much discomfort, then we could delay treating it. It ended up where I couldn't hardly walk. I guess I waited over a year before going back to look into treatment options.

  • @PiloGuy82 dude, i feel horrible for u cause i feel sick after seeing some of your videos, and ur own experience, and i kno its 10000 times worse for you then me just seeing, u actually having it. i just had mine removed two weeks ago im in highschool got surgery the same week i got out of school have had mine , was about an 1inch long, for 2 years, since i stopped working out/playing sports full time, first 2 doctors said:" laugh laugh cough, shave son its an ingrown hair, finally someone said

  • @imbtrthenu otherwise and had the surgery, i was lucky enough to have the doctor be able to seal the wound and not have to open it all up as many of you here in these comments, just wondering how long i can expect to heal tho, my doctor keeps chicken sratching at the answers, afterall this is my summer.

  • @imbtrthenu did yours drain after the surgery? how long after did the effects of the surgery stop affecting your day-to-day life? i had mine sealed up too. did it ever come back

  • @PiloGuy82 I just had the surgery two days ago,I was at the emergency room at the third of day of feeling a symptom, I thought they were going to give me pills or something for treatment, and i ended up doing a surgery unfortunately. It's painful when you try to move in certain ways, but anyways, the hole is quiet big from the way I look at it,but Ill say that its 4melimeters bigger than yours currently... I don't know bro,but Im still scared and nervous over the hole thing.

  • @theshakedownstreet I currently have a Pilonidal Cyst that I can not afford to take care of. I have had mine for roughly 2 years, it opened on it's own about a year ago, and I recommend going to a doctor to at least get on some kind of pain medication and antibiotics. Also make sure they take a culture of it and have it sent to a lab to test to make sure you don't have a more serious type of infection. Trust me, take all the precautions you can think of. It's not a pleasant thing to live with.

  • @theshakedownstreet thats what i thought! that i had broken my tailbone.....this shit really stinks

  • I had the same type of cyst when I was a teenager.... I couldn't walk upright because of the pain so I had to move around on my hands and knees when they removed it it left a hole @ the end of my spine that was 2" wide X 2" deep every now and again I find that it flairs up and it is so painful ..... Thank you for sharing your experience with everybody.

  • You're welcome. Hope all is going well with you!

  • My husband just had this surgery done this morning and i'm freakin out. I'm not sure i can do the dressing change. I feel awful that i feel this way, but can't help it. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. BTW, your videos are great and have helped me big time...I'm just feeling not good about the whole thing. Is there a support group for this?

  • Changing the band aids after the surgery isnt quite that bad. my sister actually had this done. the only thing that you should worry about is the hair around the cut. all you need is a piece of gaws and some meducal tape! :) its not that gross it jst takes a coupel secounds.

  • Thanks! I actually got thru it better than I had expected. He is doing good now going into his 3rd week.

  • Great! We wish him a speedy recovery!!!

  • Wow.. that looks like its hurting alot :S

  • that's a bum bum

  • wtf I'm looking at your ass?

  • I'm afraid you are. But I'd rather you think of it like this "I'm looking at a wound to remove a pilonidal cyst."

  • I also have this and am seeking some advice. I've had it for about a year and a half now, but last christmas it really flared up. I went to the doctor and he told me to try to squeeze it, which i did and then it turned into an abcess aswell as my pilonidal sinus, which has been weeping for about 5 months now. I have just had a date my surgey is on june 26, but the last couple of days it has been proper bleeding, anybody know is this normal? Also how soon after the op can i resume my driving job?

  • Some bleeding is probably normal. Mine bled every now and then also. As far as your driving job, you may want to stay off for a week or two; however, I was able to go to class and sit immediately after surgery. I'm not sure why, but for me, sitting wasn't that painful. After 1 week, I barely had any pain at all. Good luck.

  • My husband had one of these, the doctors used a blue dye to highlight the entire cyst and then removed it. Using the blue dye has made the surgery 100% effective. You should go find a new doctor if this continues...I just feel bad for you and others who have this and did not have the up to date surgery.

  • I'm actually good now. Hopefully your husband continues to be pilo free. Best wishes.

  • seriuosly what the hell is that thing... please dont say its what I think it is..and why did you post in on youtube!!!!!!!!

  • It is what you think it is. And I posted it so that the many others who suffer from it can get a better understanding of the wound care and healing that takes place.

  • its ur anus?

  • Unfortunately. Gives an entirely new meaning to "pain in the butt."

  • had it in college painless surgery. just a little sore not bad healing

  • Glad to hear you didn't have problems with pain or healing. Most people I speak with are at least in some mild pain. Hope you are doing well.

  • que asco!!!!!!!!

  • How painful is the healing process. I'm the only female I know with a pilonidal and honestly, before last year (when it flared) I had never heard of it. So far mine has only flared once which required it being lanced. In my case it popped up about 12 weeks after having my son. I birthed with zero pain meds and I'm telling you now, the cyst hurt so much worse than labor. I'm very scared to have it operated on though. Any advice?

  • hey i have the thing.. and now its starting to hurt really bad.. like it hurts when i sit.. i was wondering does the surgery hurts. its gonna be my first time getting a surgery so im really scared to even tell anyone. how long are u out after the surgery

  • I don't mean to scare you, i only mean to prepare you. If your cyst isn't too severe, the surgery will be done while you are awake, and, yes....it hurts...alot! If it's pretty bad, then they'll put you under. Mine was medium in size, and like yours, it hurt like a bitch when i sat! Sadly, my surgery was done while i was awake....worst pain...ever.

  • About 30 minutes, but the after part is not so bad... its better than dealing with the thing...

  • i dont know what these guys are talking about. Dressing changes were more painful than the surgery and its aftermath for the day. The surgery was a breeze and you wont feel much if they freeze the place well. in my case they did miss 1 or 2 spots but they tookcare of that when i told them to stop.. Dressing change is a wholllleee new story. For the first week youll feel like passing out just from the pain

  • hmmm.. but mine is like a dot .. it dont hurt at all unless i push on it . its been there for a year

  • You might want to go to a colorectal surgeon just to get their opinion. I wouldn't rush to make the appointment though.

  • Comment removed

  • I had a doctor tell me once that I didn't need to worry about it until it started to affect my daily life. I too started out only having problems every now and then. However, it eventually got so bad that it required attention. The worst case situation is probably a bad infection that could require hospitalization. I've read of people who eventually get cancer from not getting it treated, but these were people that went years without treatment. Personally, I'd see how things progress.

  • well mine cyst is really small and it has been like that for almost a year or so.. it dosent hurt when i sit . like it will hurt one in 2 months but if i press on it really hard than it hurts..

  • i just had surgery on mine last week, butt they stiched mine up, only way to get rid of it is surgical mate, so isuggest u do it earlier than later and the cyst and get bigger which mean bigger area to cut out which is wat u dont want, atm its been 8 days since my surgery.

  • Good point. Taking care of it early would probably save a lot of problems later on.

  • Hi, I have a pilonidal sinus but am very reluctant to get it sorted out. I was just wondering, were you able to get on with anything normal during the healing time? I don't want to have to drop out of University, you see.

And thanks for putting all this up!

  • You're welcome.

I was actually able to do most activities without problem. I have had two surgeries during the school semester, and was able to sit without difficulty. However, I have been unable to truly exercise or play any type of sport during the healing process. Also, packing can be hard if you're doing it alone...but it can be done. Hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything else I can try to explain. Best wishes!

  • Well it sure looks better! I hope it is feeling better, too.

  • Thanks! Overall it is doing much better. We had a slight setback, but luckily we addressed it early. The funny thing is that it doesn't hurt or feel funny at all. I feel perfectly fine other than having to do dressing changes twice a day. Geeze I can't wait to get back to running again :)

  • hey mate im that guy from australia you talked to before, i just had surgery yesterday and they stiched it up and put a seperate hole for drain, they said i get stiches out in 2 weeks, hope to god it doesnt come back,do you know how to keepp in clean from infection caz im worried about it getting infected thankyou

  • Hey! Hope your surgery went well! Probably the best advice to keep you from getting an infection is to wash your hands. I've spoken with several wound care nurses and each have told me that gloves are not necessary if you are doing wound care in your home. However, if you have a friend or someone outside of your home do the wound care, they might want to wear gloves. You might want to shave around the wound so that hair can't hold moisture near your skin.
