I know what you mean. These movies were made for an american market, by chinese & british producers/engineers with VERY low budget. They were trying to copy the "american ninja" and "sho kosugi" fad. These movies failed in america, and were adopted in Netherlands & Germany for some reason. These movies can only be seen as comedies. And proof you can make a film for next to nothing. Godfrey Ho (the director) had a formula that worked so well, he now teaches film making in Hong Kong Film School.

Yeah, except that these films were made by Hong Kong filmakers...granted, it was for the sole purpose of selling them to westerners, but still, I think pretty much everyone was, and still is, largely ignorant about what ninjas were really stood for. Except, personally, I think these movies rock my goddamn world, and I would watch them over most other films being made today in America, Hong Kong, or anywhere else.
