  • Just practice knife edge flying... then if it ever happens to you, you will be able to land it... I lost one wing one time, but the plane was a trainer, and unable to knife edge... still I tried.

  • @wjkssmd Its similar but not completely like knifeedge. Stabilizer becomes more like an aileron. Most critical point is before toucdown where you have to level the wing. Best thing to do is to practice it in RealFlight.

  • I loved my H-9 Cardin Yak... Nice flying plane ( And great landing too Jim!)

  • Awesome. If that happened to me I would have landed shrapnel

  • Only one thing to say.Skillz

  • Jim Bourke......very Irish name?is he?

  • i dont know why but this looks too much alike bill hempel's one wing landing video...

  • omg!!!! how did u snap the wing tube?????

  • when you are flying real planes let me know what airline so I can request a flight with you as the pilot :-)

  • I just cant believe it. I have to fave. this video and watch it whenever I crash my plane. Jim what did you do exactly? Used the right aileron on full right while you control the turns with rudder?

  • "this is hard!" haha!

  • WOW ... amazing flying sir! Great save!

  • THAT MANS GOT SKILLS

  • wow. nice stuff!.....but can you do it blindfolded?lol. cheers!

  • If only his building and preflight skills matched his flying, he wouldn't be such a retard.

  • if it was me i would have just set the tranmitter don and wached it go in nice save man.

its people like yu that make other piolits not toal there planes wing this happens to them since they know it posible to land when the plane is like this.

  • Crashtruk2. Why was that necessary? i get tired of people getting on here and posting offensive and just plain dumb comments. The guy did an amazing job bringing the plane down to earth and you call him a Dickhead. well done. I can only think that your life is pretty small. If your comment was directed at a previous post then i apologize and this is directed at all the other lame commentators.

  • Great flying Jim,

  • i have been flying for about 2 years. I work practically 60 hours a week so don't get much time in the air. My brother has been flying for years and years off and on. He thinks this is not possible. We have argued and debated it a number of times. I think it is great flying.

  • This is the guy that flys Russian Thunder, the rea yak-54. This is just a cake walk for him!

  • great save good job

  • Very Cool video! I love my Yak from H9! Looks like you paid for Realflight in one flight! Congrats! Bill Hempel eat your heart out.

  • Who 'da man?........You 'da Man!

  • yeah, didn't keep his cool. Oh well, you and I would have had a perfect spot landing, heh.

  • hehe

  • Awesome Save!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome...excellent flying!

  • YOU ARE THE MASTER !!!!!

  • É muito difícil manter a calma numa situação dessas, e é necessária bastante habilidade do piloto. Parabéns!

  • WOW!! AWESOME SKILLS!!

    Very nice, JIM!

  • Yours is the true meaning of flying on a wing and a prayer. SO BAD!

    Larry

  • Holy cow! That's fantastic. Well done!

  • Absolutely awesome skills Jim.

  • Git down wit yo bad sef! Hey, I want YOU to fly my junkbox test vehicles first time out. Heh. You do helis, too, right?

  • very important thing to note.

This airframe was damaged in a prior incident and was repaired. The repair looked great, but as you see did not hold up during aerobatics. But again, I emphasize, THIS IS NOT A NEW AIRFRAME STRUCTURAL FAILURE. WE IN NO WAY IMPLY THAT THERE ARE ANY FLAWS WITH THE WINGS OR CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PLANE.

  • That was pretty good but I noticed it nosed over on landing. What a noob mistake.

FYI Just kidding. Your thumbs are sexy.

  • One word. Wow.

    Thanks for posting this Jim.

  • Good thing these are text messages 'cause I am speechless! I'll remember the knife edge if the wing ever falls off my B-17 LOL!

  • Damn...........I have never seen that done before!!!! Congrats Jim on getting it back and you flying skills are awesome....on the verge of freakish....but awesome!!!!

  • Fantastic Jim!

I would have just froze and watched it tumble.

  • Awesome. You have joined the club of the elite few who have pulled this off. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
