@Readz1099 We complain about the modern-day setting because it's overused. Futuristic settings aren't used very much. I definitely agree that we should have Battlefield 1944, but I'd like to see 2143 first, because 2142 doesn't have a sequel yet, whille BF1942 technically does.

@MrPS3player10 Future settings are Halo's ground. Halo 4 is coming next year while Call of duty is planning a future action adventure (attempt to steal sum Halo fans). That would probally come out next year too as CodBo2 is out this year. MoH is also out this year, so EA will next year release a new Battlefield and what if its 2143? That means we have 3 huge franchises making similar future warfare games. Shit time to be a fan. Thats why battlefield 1944 would be better giving fans a choice :-)

Obviously DICE or any other group sponsored by EA should create a new title in a World War II ambient as never have seen before, with a realism and quality incalculable. That would be the ultimate dream for any lover of war games. I vote for Battlefield 1944 with Frostbite 3 or Destruction 3.0 engine, so then we can live the Battle of Normandy as never before. A climax for FPS shooters.

@ItsTheNabica Frostbite 2 took 2 years to make, and the battlefield 3 game took 2 years to make. So I'm guessing. The frostbite 3 engine would take 3-4 years made from scratch . And the game itself 2-3 years, so yes I'll wait for an awesome WWII with good graphics.

1. That Battlefield 2142 didn't get enough attention

Do you actually remember anything about the guys besides Montes? Mackovic? Campo? Chaffin? It's like any other FPS (maybe Halo aside.) The plot and characters are pretty weaksauce.

Their focus should not have been "compete and be better than" CoD, but "throw the CoD franchise in a river of feces, shove a hose funnelling sewer water down its throat, and piss in its face while 62 other players duke it out with each other." @GoranGaming In a way, yes. Their focus on competing with CoD, changed the core of battlefield. With BF3 they condensed the maps significantly, made more close quarter scenarios, etc. The heart of Battlefield has been lost; the strategic element. Points are generic with no real value. There's no supply lines to cut, 99% of vehicles come from home bases. Lack of squad voice chat in multiplayer on PC was an insult. The best elements of past BF games didn't make it into BF3, disappointingly.

It had basic weapons no stupid airlock missles ;p Cod 1 and Cod 2 were great too online basic weapons no perks, you had to use your skills. I think we've had enough modern games and it's time to get back to where it all began WWII atmosphere!
