Launching a WRX, or AWD is very difficult. Too little RPM, (3-4k) and your gonna bog down. Too much (5.5-6.5) and the tires are going to chirp and you'll hit rev limiter immediately. The sweet spot on my wrx personally,y is right above 5k.
Launching AWD without launch control=years to master.
SRT4 and a WRX stock vs. stock actually have the same 1/4 time. The SRT has less power train loss so it gets a little more to the ground. But this SRT was modded for sure, but oh well none the less it was a good race. Both cars rock in my book.
I mean how many times do you have to race a WRX and realize that you "SRT-4" is SLOW!!... BTW the subie driver didn't even try to keep the foot on the throttle cuz, he knew it wasn't worth it!

feather the throttle after you shift from 1st to 2nd til it catches then stomp it again. works so much better than just spinning til it catches. and dont launch from anything over 2k

no just needs a skilled driver... i have a SRT-4 and i can launch it just fine... fuck the AWD, yah they are sooo easy to launch(non skilled) but then u have all that weight when u are rolling it slowes you down
@acingteam Well, once you let out the clutch, then it's grip, grip, grip. With 2wd, it's a matter of controlling wheelspin. With AWD, the probablem is usually avoiding stalls.

well tonight was the shit.. i finally got to race my friend with the 05 srt4, WG at 19psi,TBE from a dig.. i have a 02wrx, with uppipe,TBE, at 15psi, and i beat him all the way to 115mph, we raced like 10 times.. and the results were the same that means in a 1/4 the wrx is the winner, launching at 5k slipping the clutch..and yes..i baby my tranny broke 2nd once
i raced both of these guys in my stock 2006 honda civic si, 197 horsepower and still fast as the wrx but the neon gets me in 4th gear since its so got ie and others. This basically goes out to brandonlp1223 hater.

The SRT-4's aren't slow, they can accelerate fairly quickly, but they're just crippled by FWD, now if dodge had made them AWD, then they'd have something.
Edit once again. The last race SRT-4 wouldve been dead even with the WRX. Probably 2 low 14 second cars. If not high 13s. Both are basically stock. WRX most likely does have an exhaust.
look jesus... the srt has more horsepower but is crippled becuase the FWD launch this is why its catching up they make close to 230 at the wheels from factory and if it was "heavily modded" you would hear the catless exhaust i would say that car is pretty much stock
OMG!! the wrx has 4wheel drive. of course its gunna beat the srt4 in a launching race. but the srt4 will catch up right after the launch its faster. 220hp vs. 230.

either the wrx driver cant drive or wasnt even trying the xrs has 170 crank horse while the wrx puts down 170 wheelhorse and 227 crank. thats like saying a honda beat a wrx doesnt happen
