This brings back so many memories I was a freshman in high school when this album was released. I played this this song to death. my favorite song from this album was "Heaven Only Knows" Thanks for the memories.
i just love this track when i was dancing in clubs in the 80s never heard this at all it was my brother who bought the album and when i heard this i always loved it.
and the words. omg there is nothing out there now to match this kind of music,
it is way superior to anything out there now.thanks for posting.. veewee..
If you removed the label from this track unless you knew the track you would never guess this track was created over 25 years ago, just way ahead of it's day, and Cameo made a lot of great tracks at that time, great album .....
Now that's wot we londoners call a propa tune. Saw them do this track live in london in 2004, icing on the cake. Was honoured to meet LB and TJ in amsterdam recently, still doing it....... LEGENDS.
Newworldr0b: There is an old saying that goes-"if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all." Well I'll take it one step further-'If you have nothing intelligent to say, shut the hell up!'
I absolutely loved this song. So glad that it is on YouTube. I'm telling you, I really miss the times when song lyrics had positive messages in them! Don't we all have times when we need to hear a song like this.
i saw them do this live , and it was such surprize to hear them do this . it was the year 2001 in the park in New Haven , Connecticut . Nathan Leftenant was on stage . Wow!!!
The late Mike "Calamari" Burnett was an awesome bass-player indeed, but he isn't mentioned on the Style-album. Larry and Charlie are both credited in the linernotes for bass-guitar though, and Mike was back in the biz with the C-army one year later, during the recording-sessions of the albums "She's Strange" and "Single Life", + he toured with them around 1985, as can be seen here : youtube.com/watch?v=9eOcStxDslY ... Mike is greatly missed ... may he funk in peace forever ...
What can you say to this other than "Dear God this tune is tough" ...Always did love that walking bass line on this to the piont if you play the bass guitar you will undrstand that you can play this forever ...Groove
a GREAT song on an under appreciated album; CAMEO deserved more credit for the brilliance of this album Word Up garnered the kudos...this joint was the PHD dissertation to prove they belong with EWF, Isleys, MAZE & CON FUNK SHUN as the top great R&B bands.
I found your song! Great choice and I like it a lot. I actually forgot that I read this when I posted my comments several months ago. I think Aphrodisiac is an awesome song of this album as well. take care...rhythmcdr
I own this on compact disc, along with Alligator Women. I bought them both from some European website 10 years ago and so glad I did. I would be glad to share as long as its legal.
