@kswindl Have you ever played an instrument? I like Sabbath but also acknowledge that they're music is simple and primitive. They appeal to guys like Jimmy because he identifies with Ozzy's whole working class image. He's like a teenager. Try playing some Sabbath songs on the guitar (all based on the root and fifth of each chord) and then try playing some Who songs. Sabbath had trouble writing melodies. Ozzy solo was much better b/c he hooked up with more accomplished musicians

This clip is pretty funny, but there was a movie (ironically about "fags" ) called "Sunday Bloody Sunday" with Peter Finch that U2 probably appropriated the title from, made in England in '71. The Who is a better band than Black Sabbath... fact. Listen to Young Man Blues on Live at Leeds, nothing from Black Sabbath even comes close. Sabbath accidentally stumbled upon their sound when Tony Iommi sheared the tips of his fingers off and they had to loosen his guitar strings so he could press the fretboard. The Who worked and built and evolved their sound.
Jimmy can be ridiculous at times with people he considers childhood hero's. He has some strange emotional attachment to Black Sabbath/Ozzie/Kiss that clouds his judgment. @kswindl Have you ever played an instrument? I like Sabbath but also acknowledge that they're music is simple and primitive. They appeal to guys like Jimmy because he identifies with Ozzy's whole working class image. He's like a teenager. Try playing some Sabbath songs on the guitar (all based on the root and fifth of each chord) and then try playing some Who songs. Sabbath had trouble writing melodies. Ozzy solo was much better b/c he hooked up with more accomplished musicians

@kswindl How are they better than The Who? Explain please. The only thing Sabbath has over the who is a better guitar player. I guess if you like that whole phony occult gimmick Sabbath had, you will like them more, but objectively speaking, the who is a far better band.

Queen is my favorite band ever, Freddie Mercury to me is the greatest.
what these guys don't seem to realize is music is all opinionated, sure you can throw out facts to justify why YOU in particular don't like them, but there will always be people that dislike what you like and vise versa.
P.S. U2 does suck, imo

U2 has always been garbage, but really Black Sabbath is over-rated, and Jimmy is just going into a fit fanboy rage. If Kiss is any indication, Jimmy will praise them up and down until the moment they don't give him an autograph, then he'll trash them for the rest of his life.
Jimmy takes his personal fandoms to an unhealthy level to the point where he's yelling and saying everyone else sucks.

i agree with jimmy black sabbath is pretty much the best rock band. every album with ozzy or dio kicks alot of ass. there early albums are so original. iommi made the best riffs i ever heard. and ozzys voice is unreal.sabbath rules. u2 sucks. the first five sabbath albums is some of the best music you can here.

This clip is pretty funny, but there was a movie (ironically about "fags" ) called "Sunday Bloody Sunday" with Peter Finch that U2 probably appropriated the title from, made in England in '71. Two years before the said Sabbath song/album. So Jim's point is kind of lame. I'm sure everybody has wikipediaed that already but I jsut thought I'd throw that in.

The Who is a better band than Black Sabbath... fact. Listen to Young Man Blues on Live at Leeds, nothing from Black Sabbath even comes close. Sabbath accidentally stumbled upon their sound when Tony Iommi sheared the tips of his fingers off and they had to loosen his guitar strings so he could press the fretboard. The Who worked and built and evolved their sound.
I love both bands, but The Who is better.

Jimmy can be ridiculous at times with people he considers childhood hero's. He has some strange emotional attachment to Black Sabbath/Ozzie/Kiss that clouds his judgment. To not be familiar with famous songs of the same time period is pretty weird. Jim's a funny guy, but he is locked in some kind of cocoon when it comes to the favorite things of his youth. I had things I loved as a kid but when I got older and gained life perspective I can now look back at them for what they were.

Almost every song they've ever written is based on root-fifth patterns on the guitar while Ozzy simply follows the chords with his voice. Easiest type of music to write and play. Jimmy has an extremely limited taste in music and is more in love with image than music. Sabbath were all about gimmicks and image which is why he identifies with them

@ritter89 Actually I played the saxophone for 6 years, as for The Beatles they made nothing but rubbish until Sgt. Pepper's. Sabbath was the first band to sound evil while The Beatles just made pop songs. Metal > everything else.
