This game sucked. I used to play it all the time because there was no other 18th or 19th Century war games out there that I knew of (like Empire total war today) but there was zero stratagy in the battles. I always won if I had more men, and lost if I had less.....simple. Nothing else really seemed to matter. It was way basic.

hard to say, Rome TW came out at the same time as this so its hard to tell who coppied who...Empire is a direct ripoff of this game for sure

oh wow, i loved this game back in the day, was the dogs bollocks, now that i got napoleon total war, looking back on this reminds me of the good old days. One thing in this game that beats N:TW is the line formations, 2 n 3 ranks. the many hours i enjoyed playing this game though.... mite just install it now!

ETW isnt that worth it. although the battles and graphics are intresting, you need a badass comp and steam is terrible. The bugs are off the hook! I want to throw up so bad- those bugs.

La réalité des combats est très bien rendue dans Impérial Glory, malgré les spécifités historique des unités de l'époque, je précise que la cavalerie lourde Française chargeait au trot, ne galopant que sur les 100 derniers mètres, pour ne pas fatiguer ses chevaux. Notons aussi qu'à Waterloo, les artilleurs Anglais se réfugiaient dans les Carrés, à chaque charge Française, et se reservaient aussitot de leur canons, les Francais oubliant toujours de les enclouer.

This game came out a good 3 or 4 years before ETW. I agree that ETW is the better game, but I don't think it should be judged on the same level do to the time difference.

Imperial Glory is a fantastic introduction to war-gaming.....Try playing it against others on GameSpy...All you need to do is get the patch so you have IG v1.1 then your away......When in GameSpy make sure your firewall is off..GameSpy is secure....also check to see that you have the same operating system as the other players...ei...XP or Vista......come on guys ...get playing

Great vid man. So many people only like games if they have good graphics.

But to me this game looks awsome!

Take AOE for example, more people like number one than number three.

Just think... graphics are no match for just the plain ability to enjoy a game like this :)

Cheater? This video is meant to portray a historical event, not be a random gameplay video. The fact remains, that these were the sort of troops that actually attacked the squares on that day, so it is historically accurate.

Shut up with your TW comparisons... this game is over 4 years old and was amazing for its time. It set benchmarks that haven't been exceeded until recently. You need to appreciate this game for its time, especially since it's gfx, sfx, and gameplay were well ahead of its time.
