I went fishing with an OG and he caught more fish than I did using a soda can. He was using the soda can because he did not feel like he needed a nice rod and reel. Buy what you can afford, but don't say that Stella is overpriced, or expensive, or this or that. Stella is more than just a reel. It is a piece of art. It is worthy.
for people that think the more money you spend the more fish you catch... quantum Pti tour series uses the same gear system as this for $150 instead of $550
Ive got a pair of TLD's for my shore conger fishing,2 baitrunners for my shore bassing an aero gt for my shore mulleting a TLD 25 for my heavier boat work and 2 charter specials for the lighter boat stuff, , I really do love shimano reels! Not to sure if i like the 'worm screw' concept in this reel though, looks like you had some spare level wind grubs and built a fixed spool around them, I'm sure 480 and itshimkev know there stuff but I reckon time will be the only real test for this concept.
i use this real for bass, flounder, fluke, porgies, and small striped bass i love it very smoothe reel in my opinion very strong, and pretty light all i got to say is best spinning reel since van staal thinking of buying a larger version for fishing the surf =]
