  • I want to give him a hug .

  • Hugs not thugs.

  • They disabled the audio on mine too.....

  • Thats second base in mormon religion

  • No matter what the goal of this video is, I give it a thumbs down for your removed song

  • its funny how these protesters talk of jesus. yet i would think that Jesus would be more pleased with the man spreading peace and joy to others, rather than tear others down.

  • can't get the sound but LOVE IT!!!!! LOVE IT! Who can say anything bad about free hugs....only somebody that desperately needs a good huggin' : )

  • Its funny, the video is trying to take the focus off of protesters to try and make a happy environment, but the comments don't reflect that at all.

  • You are not my brother , pervert

  • What do you call a hateful critic who pretends he is Christ-like?

You are the one who needs to repent, my brother.

    God Bless.

  • ahhhh! wheres the sound?!

  • Good thing I'm not retarded or inbred then. Can't say the same for you, though.

  • Your ignorance knows no bounds.

  • Youtube is really bad. Why can't we hear the music? Darn it.

  • youtube is so retarded.... -.-

  • Be Careful i actualy live here lol

  • awesome...and positive attitude...thats the spirit......

  • people protest because you suck, what the hell is that noise in the background

  • all hail to the morman regime

  • thank you so much for this video

  • Well ignoring everything everyone else has said, I gotta say great video. I can't wait to goto conference next year and get a hug.

  • Ok buddy I just realized your actually retarded and now I feel bad about antagonizing you. Ask your mommy or your uncle to help you with the pronunciation and definition of all the big words. I won't be conversing with you any longer. Sorry to upset you so much. Remember that Jesus loves you even though nobody else does.

  • Ok give me your number and address online you jackass. Your uncle didn't tell you shit either, you called and felt stupid cause I answered the call. Got anything clever to say about that.

  • Oh my uncle! my uncle! Your such a puss

  • Actually You threatened me so I gave you the number of the people best suited to help you. so eat my ass.

  • Call me anytime I'd love to chat 435-634-5000

can't wait to hear from you. No gay talk either lets keep this clean.

  • Ok chief I'm in St. George Utah @ Dixie High school. Meet me at the flag pole any time. How stupid do you feel now?

  • I'm talking shit about catholics so what are you gonna do. I didn't slander anyone I stated the facts. Just because you're priest told you to close your eyes doesn't mean you can't open them now.

  • WHEW. THATS WAS SOOOO COOL

I learned a new way how to hug a lotof gurlz!

    hahahahahaha

Can u be here in the philippines? I will definitely hug you for one hour. Serious.

  • i saw you!! i wanted to hug you so bad... but my parents were like "nyeh hurry up!" that was such a sweet idea. what a way to start general conference!

  • Even just watching this video reminds me that i'm exactly where i need to be!

    <3

  • That pig GodLovedJosephSmith prays to that prophet of satan joseph smith, and hes from utah an ass backwards state thats run like a 3rd world country no wonder so many inbreds are half wits and numb brained not knowing which year we live in..DUH

  • Can you back up those statements?

  • Also, hello and welcome to 2008, it's not a "lifestyle." A lifestyle is like preferring cheddar over swiss, or wine over cocktails.

LGBTI are people, citizens, voters and taxpayers. The time is rapidly drawing to an end when intolerant religions who enjoy tax sheltered status can fund or promote discrimination.

I gather the LDS discriminated against African Americans too until not long ago...no surprise there. Welcome to the future, bitches. You kicked the beehive, here come the bees.

  • Uhhhhhhh we are the bees so watch out yourself. The church didn't fund anything. Private citizens who belong to many different christian churches collectively funded a cause they believed in, just like you believed and funded your cause.

  • well, the media is reporting that the LDS church put a huge amount of money into Prop 8 so I would think if they didn't, that the LDS church would hold a press conference denying that. Because if it wasn't all over the news about this huge funding...gays would have no reason to direct their ire at the LDS church.

No such press conference has happened and the donations are public record, so for the moment "the church didn't fund anything" scans as false.

  • well the media is something you can trust. Why don't you get those public records and copy and paste them. Sounds like you're on to something. You'll be famous as the first person to present any evidence to your claim. Hurry Gretch everybody knows now.

  • Hey ass licker one of my uncles is a DA in slc utah and the amount of mormons that he and his associates arrest for fucking kids the list is now longer than what any Catholic Priest did.. but its funny that you mormon assholes bring up child rape constantly because its a fetish of yours..

  • Dude seriously seek some help for your anger and try to work out those urges you have to lay pipe in another dude. Just because those priest did it to you doesn't mean it's right.

  • "In the end, Protect Marriage estimates, as much as half of the nearly $40 million raised on behalf of the measure was contributed by Mormons."

That's the New York Times reporting, and Protect Marriage was the group behind Prop 8. Found by following a source link in the Prop 8 Wikipedia entry. So, there ya go!

The media sometimes gets it wrong, but doesn't make shit up. The Prop 8 people themselves are the source of the mormon figure, argue with them if you must.

  • Dearest Gretch

I'm so glad you were able to find the truth. "Contributed by Mormons" is different than contributed by the church itself. Private citizens regardless of who they are and what they stand for are free to donate to whichever cause they choose. Thanks for pointing that out for all those an your team that have such a hard time with that. We are strong in numbers though.

  • oh and in before "wait that's Mormons as a whole, not the LDS Church!"

It's the LDS Church who publicly urged Mormons to support Prop 8. The Generals gave the order...I lay the blame at the feet of the Generals, not the troops.

  • If the mormons keep mocking the Catholic church you people will realize that it would be like poking at a bees nest.. the Catholics will be all over the mormons.. the mormons dont wanna piss us off and yes I can back up those statements otherwise I wouldn't have said it dipshit

  • So lets here it douche. Back it up. It's sad that your leaders violated you like they did and left you bitter and confused. They probably have some catholic help groups for little boys like you. Just don't seek help from your church or they might lock you in a room and play with your pee pee again.

  • hey what year is it in UTARRR right now 1959 huh pfft ha I bet you're another product of incest just like all you mormon dick breaths, ask your skank ass parents if they got along growing up as brother and sister when they were younger

  • Your gay not me. So it's your breath that smells like dick. If it still feels like 1959 here to you that's likely because we still hold to traditional values and strong morals. Sorry that upsets you. No one's inviting you here so stay where ever you are.

  • Try hitting on me again you fag mormon and we;ll see what happens, fucking idiot

  • you completely miss the point and don't know the history of your own church. I've seen enough on just the History Channel to know about the prejudice against Joseph Smith and his followers and how they were driven west by hate, and I'm not LDS. The point is, the LDS with their history should know better than to practice prejudice.

Also, no gay wants to be married in an LDS church. Gays want to be married by a judge or enlightened clergy someplace. This is about intolerance.

  • Not yet they don't. You couldn't stop at a civil union.

  • haha i would totally do that

  • Is that guy wearing deoderant? lol

  • That's awesome! I wish there were more people like you around!

  • Great Video. That's what love is about. Protesting is hate not love

  • you thought there were protesters before...bet next time, heterosexuals will be a minority in SLC.

Enjoy it! Gays have been fighting intolerant bigots for decades, and the LDS just said "No, us, over here! We really hate you!"

Thanks for letting us know. As a persecuted faith yourselves, you should have known better.

    Expect us.

  • mormons dont hate gays. they just believe in the sanctity of marriage. Its what their church has always believed in, and they arent going to alter their beliefs.

  • woot the awesome in the LDS comes out again!

    GLJS

    fairlds . org

Under my favorites are incredible PRO LDS videos. (47 atm)hehe

    god bless

  • haha no way bro

    thats awesome!

  • Love thy neighbor... Christ clashed with those not living that which they had. Group hug... someone go hugs those other guys.

  • Good for you!

  • I totally hugged someone holding a "FREE HUGS" sign at General Conference last Sunday. Made my day :D Keep it up brother!

  • That's so awesome ^_^

  • Now thats in harmony with Christian brotherhood.

  • Haha i love this! i hope on Saturday the tradition is carried on!

  • Mormons acting like normal people? Shocker, I know.

I'm just kidding, of course :) I'm glad you did something like this. Like really, good for you! What a noble thing for someone to accomplish

  • I love this guy! He and Bagpipes-Guy make Conference protesters looks plain silly.

  • are you doing this every conference? can anyone join you?

  • I LOVED IT!!

  • I love the music. lyra2008 LDS.

  • that was awsome. i remember seeing you there, but my parents thought you were anti-mormon, so they wouldnt let me. now i have video proof!!! contact me next time you do something like this, i'll totally join you. but it would probably have to be in Idaho, around the Twin Falls area

  • Awesome and so appropriate love is stronger than hate. Thank you.

  • Will you be there this year? Because I'll skip watching it at home just to go and hug you! (I love going to Confrence anyway)

  • God bless you brother!!!!

  • No Hate

    Free Hugs

    Would work better.

  • thats my home town, I miss it sometimes and I hate it too

  • Great idea!

  • A free hug is tangible, it's real. It's not a "spiritual" thing as suggested but purely physical and emotional. On the other hand the fantasy of a good heaven is not tangible, not verifiable. If you spend our lifetime teaching others to fall to their knees to worship some strange being, then your life is a failure. If you spend 1 minute giving a hug then you have some success. A lifetime of preaching is not worth as much as a single hug, do not confuse the two as one in the same. They are not.

  • i love this video. <3

  • I'm not mormon, but this vid is inspiring. This would be an awesome thing to do in my community! thanks!

  • dude I was there!! :)...o no wait...it was from this year...(08)...aww

  • Way cool, my Brother, way cool. I hope the tradition grows like a wild fire!

  • duh, to offset the negative

  • Awesome. I don't believe in mormonism myself, but I do believe in their right to gather and worship as they so choose. Great video, way to bring a positive experience into the presence of the negative protesters!

    sweet!

  • Lovely vid!

  • Of course you should hug whoever wants one, not just mormons.

  • A way you may avoid people confusing you with the anti mormons is by putting free hugs for lds

  • :) thats awesome and positive and a very good way to invite the spirit before to go into church..thanks for the love brother

  • Did you notice how happy the LDS people were? Here they were, coming to worship the Lord and being met with yelling, screaming, hatred... yet one who held up a simple sign "free hugs" and they embraced him, not knowing who he was. Did that anti-mormon protestor walk over and give a little shoulder to this guy giving out love instead of hate? Way cool and kudos to this guy. Great video distinguishing the difference between the character of Christ verses the character of the "you know who".

  • what a crack up :)

  • thnx for the positive support!!!

  • I'll be down there again with my smiley face sign in October. Check out my video. I'm not Mormon but I don't believe in preaching. What those protesters do is evil. Pl4ease watch my video. It will make you smile.

  • I think you need more people to help out. Im there in October if you need me.

  • i love the free hug movement :)

  • This put a smile on my face. Thanks for being so brave and acting on the love in your heart.

  • Check out Ben's new video of this year's conference. He's got a whole posse this time.

  • Heck Yes! Good Job ((Benjamin)).

  • i think this is really inspired. i'd like to do this with all people really.

  • I'm a little leary of mormons, I grew up in Orem and did not have very good experiences with missionaries and neighbors,

but I can appreciate the positiveness of your actions. Very cool!

    Sar

  • The group GCFH is now "searchable" on facebook. Please find it if you are interested in this conference's hug fest.

  • lol so cool, will search for you guys in the next conference, want a free hug... lol

  • I am not Mormon, but I would love to do this with you guys. Will check out your facebook. :D

  • Nice to know Mormons have a sense of humor. The anti-Mormon protesters are no different than Nazis in front of a synagogue. " Lighten Up " is a good message for them.

  • Oh wow Your awesome! I can't wait to travel down to Utah, I'll look for the sign!

  • there is no hell.there is no heaven no satan, and no god,,,your all brainwashed by the jewish bible,,,(love your enimies)tho they hate you,(mexicans blacks ?) ,(even if someone is gonna kill you ?),all men created equal ?(sorry but roman emperors compared to pigmys/black savages(now your = equals ?) no i dont thinks so.sorry your free hugs tho nice ,aint gonna save america from bloodbath !

  • agree for the first part

  • BY THE WAY,i was christend into the church of latterday saints in england,in 1963,by my grt grandma, because she owed 14.00 pounds to the local fruit and veg man who came round the estate with his horse and cart selling his goods,,he was a member ,,,and i was born a bastard ie parents un married and he wanted to save my soul,,,? she did it as she owed him money # ! nice church tho ,,,still there in thanet street claycross, near chesterfield, derbyshire

  • Good idea!!!

keep up the good work :)

  • so...conference is coming up...are you doing this again? next timt you should put your sign on a stick. do you have friends that could help?..all of yall with signs (on sticks). are you going to turn it into another video?

  • Yes we plan on doing it again. Right now we are communicating with our members through facebook. The group is called GCFH (general conference free hugs) Search for it and join for the latest news.

  • are you going to make another video out of it?

  • Absolutely.

  • i LOVE it! Thank you, I'm still smiling! :D

  • free hugs =^)

  • Benjamin, you are adorable! Pookster517 come back.

  • I was mormon for years and am now anti mormon. But that brought tears to my eyes!! Good Job!! See we really are just human!

  • FREE HUGS :^)

  • Wow I'm sorry but this is horable, wow you took what one man started to remember his grandparents by, and made it into a polital message WOW. NICE WORK....RETARD

  • hey i wana help uphold this new tradition!!!!! next october ill meet you there with my free hug poster!!!

  • This is the most awesome thing I have seen to show those alleged "christians" what our Church is really about.

I would like to see more of this. Maybe people holding signs with their testimony on them. Not in an argumentitive way but just our simple testimony of why we know the Church is true.

  • thats awesome!!!! I loooove this video! I love how tons of member really hugged him cause us mormons are cool like that! lol

  • Thank you.

  • Haha, this is great! I always wondered what anti-mormon protesters would do if someone held up a sign to them that said "If ye have done it to the least of these, ye have done it unto Me". Maybe it would make them think. But this is WAY better than that! If you do it in April, I'm in!

  • Well come April, if you want a Free Hugs buddy to go to the conference with you, I'll definitely do it with you. It's a great idea, and you were so smart and inspired to do this! Thanks so much!

  • THis is a great great Idea!.. i think that next april you should gather some of your friends and do it again.. it's definitely a positive impact to everyone there... i would go i'll the way over there but i'll be on my mission.. but after my mission there's someone still doing it.. i will go for sure... well good luck...

    ruben

  • Very good idea. Amazed you got so many hugs. If I was there I would hug you.

    God bless you.

  • I want to help out in april too! That's awesome!!

  • I want to help in April too! That'll be awesome!!!

  • you did great!

  • Loved it!

  • Harry, you're an idiot. You barely make sense.

  • skookum- If U R LDS, U disobey the Bible- Eph 4:15, 1 Cor 13:4-5, Col 4: 5-6- & I don't think Pres. Hinckley would be applauding how U speak to non-LDS people. Maybe U can't make sense of it, but Pharr has made enough sense to chat. If YouTube wasn't do limited on how much we can include in a post, I would have the space to be clearer. Grow up.

  • I sincerely apologize for my rashness, but speaking of Eph 4... Why don't you check out Eph 4:14? How can you say that I don't know what truth is and how to present it when many are deceived? How do you absolutely know that it isn't you who is the one that is being deceived? It is hard to know in this day and age exactly where the truth is coming from. Am I wrong? It just gets frustrating when people like you are so quick to point fingers, yet you don't step back and evaluate yourselves.

  • skook-Thanks for apologizing. Eph 4:14 doesn't apply to those who aren't New Testament-based prophets & apostles. LDS has prophet at top, while NT has apostles as top leadership. NT prophets-like Agubus, Not Moses. LDS has too much control over congregations. JS, original-present LDS apostles & prophets don't pass biblical tests, so R disqualified. I am not quick at pointing & I evaluate myself through my life. U R frustrated via UR erroneous assumptions-why?

  • Harry--on the "outreach" thread: I have encountered both types. I have respect for those who are respectful of others and sincere in their beliefs. On the other doctrinal issues: There will never be a satisfactory exchange in this forum--space limited and no eye contact. Have a good day!

  • Ben- want some company in April?? I'll get my hat and coat and meet you there if you make a second sign! (and I'll bet I could talk my hubby into coming along!)

  • Pharr-LDS salv adds gods & works.LDS Gethsemane atoning takes away from cross alone(Rom 5,Col 1)-adds to 1 Cor 15 gospel:died for sin, no Gethsemane.ANOTHER Jesus/gospel (2 Cor 11:4,Gal 1) separates true & false Christianity. The teachers R false/Satan's ministers (2 Cor 11: 3-4,13-15, Matt 24:24). All Christians in true church, none out(1 Cor 12:13,Eph 1:22-23,Col 1:24).LDS Ch true=evangs not Christian. Evengels right=LDS Ch not Christian. PLZ respond

  • First- Harry- This isn't the place for questions about LDS doctrine. If you really want to know what we believe, you'd go to... oh, say an LDS site, or maybe look in the phonebook for the local congregation and ask the leader.

Besides- what does your comments have to do with the video?? Your "comments" seem to be more inline with the protesters.

    Have a great day. *hug*

  • AJB-I have seen LDS websites, read & listened to LDS leaders, General Confereences at stake centers, etc. It isn't that I don't know, but partly how open R LDS Church with doctrines like Godhood, a beleif in many G/gods, etc., & isues that I brouight up, but also Pharr. To try to tie me in w/protesters is weak. People have similar or same beliefs about doctrine. That doesn't mean I agree with any or all of what they do, or how they speak to others.

  • Yay! Great idea! If I'd been in Salt Lake, I'd have come down and joined you! Maybe in six months...XD

  • This is awesome... thanks for spreading the sunshine!! ;)

  • A perfect example of Jesus Love! You Go Former elder! Thats the kind of thing I love to see! WOO!

  • That's awesome!! I never understood why people feel the need to protest spirituality. I love that this guy had the guts and the heart to get out there and fight back against the protesters with love and without resorting to shouting or violence. I think he should have held a sign that said "Hug a Mormon" instead, though. It would've cut out some confusion. Benjamin Taylor, you have my respect!!

  • Pharr 4- Here is reworded post, as U asked: if someone decides to do something that isn't biblical, or do something taught or allowed in the Bible, but does it an unbiblical way, then that would be 'sin'. Military funerals are funerals first, non-religious, & chosen to have religious message/etc by individuals (Can choose religious or secular). They are funerals first, so my statements stand & not the same as a NON-funerals. (CAPS only for emphasis when I use them, unless noted otherwise).

  • Pharr-Again, does LDS Ch have doctrine of many G/gods? Monotheism & LDS polytheism makes a different Father/Son/HS in nature, etc. A different Jesus. 1 Cor 15-gospel: Jesus died for sin,Eph 1/Col 1/Rom 5- all done w/ blood-cross. 2 Cor 11:4-another Jesus/spirit/gospel. Does LDS Ch have that or evangel's? Eph 1:22-23;5:30,1 Cor 12:13 teaches all Christians in true ch, none outside. LDS & evangel's can't both be the true ch/body in NT.

Again, please directly comment on points/passages.

  • Pharr 6 PT A: U use common LDS approache-say things Prot's can agree with becaue no definition. NT:all Christians in church, none out-either/or. LDS Jesus add LDS ch/teachings/works to salvation,Jesus-1 of polytheistic gods & wasn't always God, neither was exalted man Father or Holy Spirit, Atonement not all on cross, but started in Gethsemane, didn't fully pay for salvation but many works added, cross only really gave resurrection as free, all else is grace after *all* we can DO-2 Nephi 25:23.

  • Pharr 6 PT B-Non-Christians believe Jesus was born in Bethlehem, New Agers believe he did NT miracles. U totally missed the issues essential to topic. Dictionary doesn't address them. Another gospel/Father/Jesus/Holy Spirit/church/Atonement/adds to how Jesus suppose to be the Savior & make 'atonement for sin, & how it brings 'salvation'. NT-if LDS Ch is true church, no one can be a Christian & be outside of the LDS Ch. See other post U didn't answer.

  • Pharr 5- U were & R still ignoring my points & references (not appears to be). U seem to be answering UR questions instead of mine. U say UR a Christian, and U use a secular dictionary & ignore the Bible on other Jesus, who is in & out of the church/body/etc? EO & RC Ch's disagree with you on polytheism, etc. Dictionary is, as is LDS Article 1-vague. No definitions. Please read and answer my post(s) on other Jesus/etc & all Christians in true church/body w/Bible passages & points.

  • Nice work, my man. I live in Salt Lake, deal with ALL types, and am down on the religious hypocrites in religion, so it's nice to see someone following their beliefs and just spreading some smiles.

  • Long story short, just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean you have the right to disrupt an experience they believe to be sacred. I believe that you have the right to worship God how you choose. Please allow me the same consideration.

  • laharvey-If they went into an LDS meeting and actually disruted it, I would oppose that. In the streets, outside is different. I have never done it, but I don't disagree with it, but the examples LDS post on YoiuTube R thodse that are bad, and they should have stayed home, since they are not acting biblically as people, and lack wisdom, and more. I don't say U can't worship as U want. They can share their concerns.

  • Pt. 2: Amen to pharr. While I am familiar with Paul and other NT disciples, I don't see a scripture that says there can't be prophets-they just preach against false ones. In fact,in Ephesians 4:11-12 Paul teaches that the ancient church was organized with prophets and apostles.

  • laharvey & Pharr- the issue is whether the LDS claims to prophets & apostles pass the tests (& the LDS Church as the one true church). The LDS definitions of both are not correct, etc.

  • OK. Pt. 1: This is laharvey125's husband. The fact is, it doesn't matter what your intent is. When you show up at someone else's religious event and hold up signs that could be interpreted as insulting, you've left the realm of 'gentle persuasion' and entered the realm of 'obnoxious'.

  • laharvey's husband- on signs themselves R obnoxious: that is subjective. They do point out things they disagree with (I don't justify all of the signs I have seen in pics, etc, however). That slso may be the only way others see why they R concerned. I have never held a sign at any LDS event.

  • I love this!! That is my brother in law in this movie and this is the greatest thing i have ever seen!! Go Jared!

  • I don't agree with the LDS church, but I don't agree with asshole protesters, either. I think Free Hugs is a great way to reach people, so I think the asshole protesters need to pick up a few Free Hugs signs instead of "Go to hell" signs. They might show a bit more of the love of Jesus that way.

  • revolutionary- the love of Jesus? U mean the same that calls others assholes? If U knew eenough U would know that many do not have hell signs. U R very elective in how U portray them. If U knew enough &n were fair in knowing that, U would know differently. NT Jesus warned puiblicly anbouit false prophets (Matt 7:15), as did Paul & etc (Galatians, Jude, etc).

  • Yeah, ok, you're right. I shouldn't have called anyone assholes. But still, bashing people and prejudging them is a very asshole-ish thing to do. I don't think God approves of that kind of "outreach".

  • revolutionary PT 1- a**hole-ish is also close enough to a**hole. LDS/many gays/etc, love 2 use words that paint it as attacking the people-bashing/clobber/etc. Correctly done, it's not to the people, but showing concern about the religion. What R LDS being 'prejudged' as in UR view?

  • revolutionary PT 2-What God doesn't agree, and with what? NT writers warned others of what they said was false doctrine/prophets, etc. Paul in NT named names 3-4 times. Etc. Poor examples aside, the idea of exposing false religion/etc., is biblical, even if a sign at a religion's meeting may not be best/etc. Is Galatians 1:6-9 prejudging? and/or 'bashing' opposing religious views?

  • protesters in salt lake AND nauvoo are so annoying. they believe what they want and we will what we will. Free hugs is a really positive thing to do and maybe they will realize that we don't care about them.

To the maker of this video. . . do any of the protestors come up to you and bug you??

  • I encourage the maker of this video to contact me. Or any of you for that matter.

    In Christ,

    -Eric

  • Hello my name is Eric Hoffman and I am the one who created the video encouraging Christians to come share the gospel in Manti Utah. This video, which was made in response to my video is clearly evident that Mormons have a false pretense as to why Christians are trying to share with the LDS. It seems that most LDS think they are being hated because people are trying to warn them of false prophets and false doctrines that lead men astray.

    Grace and peace...

    -Eric

  • You guys go to other people's special events and insert yourself holding up insulting signs and tearing down their religion....and by in large these people are being nice to you....who is being more Christ-like?! I wonder how another group would be treated if they were to try something similar at something like a Billy Graham Crusade? In varying degrees your "ministries" share the same playbook with Fred Phelps.

  • pharr-Not all R insulting (unless U force all signs into UR desired mold). See it from their side to warn & out of love & concern (not all R nasty, etc). Christ-like? Matt 7:14 has Jesus publicly warning about false prophets, other places warns, exposes, and names those who were false teachers/aoostles, etc. How well do U know the NT in this area? To compare with Phelps shows a problem with UR position-he literaly hates, and many or most of those at LDS conference do not hate-period.

  • Harry, I am awaiting a response from kolege, but I'll answer your questions also.

First you're reading into my comments things I never said. I said "In varying degrees your 'ministries' share the same PLAYBOOK (meaning plan of action) with Fred Phelps"; I didn't mention your motives at all!

  • Pharr-Thanks for clarifying on Phelps comment. I still disagree with it, however. There are those that only have the idea similar to Phelps that they R at meetings to share views- not the hate, foul insults, etc, of FP. He didn't start the idea of going to the events. He adopted it, and added his ubnbiblical & shameful actions & signs.

  • Harry, You're welcome; I assumed everyone knew what a playbook was. And I was wrong in assuming that you were one of the street preachers; in rereading your past comments, it's obvious you're not.

  • To my view they all come to pagents and conferences uninvited to insert themselves. "To share views," to many of them means yelling out (long discredited) accusations...when we protest they switch gears (with no apology) and go into a tirade about yet another discredited accusation...and it goes on from there. I don't think you fully realize what's going on here!

  • Hi, Pharr! I may not know all that goes on, but I do know what I think should go on if they R there. I would have to see each example & decide what I think of it. I don't know all of the signs or what they say to know all of what I would agree/disagree with.

  • Harry, part 3 Are their some that come to respectfully dialog? Yes, probably. But there are to many loose cannons intermixed in this uninvited traveling sideshow for me to even want make any type of value judgement.

Is Phelps unbiblical and shameful? From his vantage point, certainly not.

  • Harry I've being called away...thought I had more time to complete....Please alow me time to finish all me thoughts

    Pharr

  • Loose canons R in incl LDS/etc events, but I would not want to stay away because of them. I would rather go & be different. All cannot be lumped in w/the bad. Also let others know all R not like the problem cases & why they are not right. Phelps is wrong from Bible Eph 4:15/1 Cor 13:4-5 (Read in NASB & NIV as well as KJV)Col 4:5-6/Gal 5:22-23,etc).

NONS r A PROBLEM IN LIFE, INCKLUDING AT lds/ETC EVENTS, BUT i WOULD NOT WANT TO STAY HOME IF i THOUGHT i WANTED TO DO IT, AND WAS A

  • Pharr & all-Sorry for the accidential hitting of the CAS LOCK button one a post today. I posted it quickly & didn't look before posting.

  • OK Harry, We both agree Phelps at Military funerals is disgusting. What if another preacher (without hate) agreed that the military was wrong and decided to go to the same funerals holding up toned down signs trying to more softly confront the mourners...with Fred Phelps "preaching" at the same event.....then that would be ok? You don't think that the mourners aren't going to place them in the same basket?

  • Pharr- Ptotests/etc at funerals in & of themselves R distastful, no matter who does it. It is at a funeral. Outreaches at LDS events- if they are talked to with that difference of not being like the problems, then they will see/hear diffeence. If the LDS is blind to it, then that is not the fault of the non-problem outreacher. Same with outreaches at gay Pride events, street corner, park where it happens. If the LDS, etc see fairly, they will see all R not to be lumped in the same catagory.
