Sure it may look like an A330 but its stats kick ass. The longest ranged A350 has a range of 1000nm more than that of the longest ranged 787! The largest A350 has a seating capacity of 130 more than that of the largest 787. And all the A350s are 8% more fuel efficient than the 787!

AIrbus is the best because they have the A380 the most fuel efficient operating aircraft in the world. Cockpit of airbus has commonality so A318 A319 A320 & A321 has only one ratings, unlike Boeing different variants of 737 differs much more in cockpit controls. Sidesticks in airbus is better than yokes of other aircraft because its much more comfortable, the arms are relaxed and the hands are only moving, unike boeing you always apply back pressure to the yokes.

Boeing wants to keep a conventional feel to their aircraft. They could have chosen to do all the electronic stuff Airbus does, but they want backup systems (?). You make a good point with commonality. But the 747, 757, 767, 777, and soon the 787, all have commonality. Not to mention the 5 (?) series of 737 all have commonality within each other. I'm not a Boeing or Airbus lover, I believe that they both need each other, to learn from each other. There is no Boeing without Airbus, and vice versa.

Airbus cockpits are designed by pilots for pilots, since Airbus care about every one on board's well-being they also took care of the pilots. Airbus wants to have less clutter on the cockpit that's why a side stick was used to have a good visibility of the controls, plus with the added a stowing table for work space. The over head panels are also a click-on with its LED indicators pilots can easily identify if its on or off in dark situations unlike the traditional switches...

@airbuspage ummm....well, let's see: 1 777 incident in 10 years, while there are quite a few on the A330 and A340, with actual fatalities on the 330? There are more than 1300 737s flying today so obviously there's a higher chance of crashes, and it will happen. The 747, again, has like 500 planes flying so the same applies for that. Airbus has max 1200-1500 planes flying today which is about the same amt of ONLY 737s flying today :). Thats why boeing seems to have so many more crashes.
