umm dude can u tell me how u uploaded this video onto youtube? like did you save it onto a file or something before you uploaded it? Can you gimme the details? lol thx
Ehm, how are you going to upload it if you don't have it as a file? Of course I saved it as a file. Then just enter the file destination and wait forever and tadaa, it's there.
You could also compress the video with Virtual Dub first.
Any more questions, please see the Help section of youtube...
A video recorded by the flip not set up for revewing or testing is The Monkees Challenge check it out to see quailty of sound, lighting, an zooming without the fakeness.
You should, it's really cool. Especially the older model, since it works with AA batteries (i.e. you don't have to find a PC to plug your camera into when the batteries run out).
Mine actually broke once after a few months, but I sent it back and they sent me a new one and it's been fine since.
I meant for the flip camera that charges via USB power you can get an ipod charger or some other adaptor with a USB port for charging and then add a USB extension cable and you are good to go no worrying about finding a PC just plug it into an AC outlet. Sorry if I didnt make sense. that camera uses USB to charge. all you need is an iPod USB charger and the extension cable.
I use Ulead Video Studio 11 to edit videos and I think I used Virtual Dub to compress. The video above is unedited, though, except for the compression.
Well, if you don't plan on going to any concerts, you should get one, because for normal usage I find the sound quality pretty good. If you want you can check out my video of the seal in the zoo. You can hear there that the the voices of the people around me are pretty clear.
Obviously it is not. :) But at least if you turn up the volume then, you can still hear the song, so that's a plus. All in all, the Flip Cam was not made for concerts, though...
thank you so much for this! It's funny because I was considering getting the flip video FOR the tegan and sara concert i'm going to (went to see them in nov. and COMPLETELY regretted not taking a camera) but was concerned w/how it would turn out... lol now i know! so anyway, you're awesome and thank you!
Thank you for posting these Flip videos (I saw the Tegan and Sara footage too). Because I am actually considering to get one myself, I was curious about its performances.
is this any good for music videos ?!

Is the sound good for recording someone playing songs on electric guitar?
Rsaucido 1 year ago
@Rsaucido It's good unless there's a lot of bass (i.e. someone playing drums or bass guitar).

you can just get an iPod charger or some other wal wart with a USB port and then just use a USB extension cord. Problem solved.

the audio is pretty good, but its kinda grainy

As I wrote in the description, the video has been compressed in order to upload it here. Otherwise it would've been too big.

The video/sound quality on this little device is just crazy. You'd expect it to look like crap just by looking at the product itself!

Actually i went oput and bought an Ultra yesterday and filmed my band with it last night- very surprising results!
the automatic level control was compressing things pretty hard but all in all it was pretty good audio-wise.
glad i buyed it!

sounded great until the sub-woffers kicked in... then it sounds like shit.
the automatic level control not working?

I saw other concerts with the flip video and the sound was fine. One was John Mayer covering Duffy in June and the person was kind of far away.

Well, to keep myself from getting audio technical...
The further away from your audio source, the less bass the microphone picks up.
