  • Serbia, now that you have independence from Yugoslavia, the last thing you need is to join the European superstate. Here in Great Britain, 80% of our laws are imposed by the unelected bureaucrats of the European Union. Serbia, stay free, and all the best.

  • I like Serbia's politics, even though it's hard to be isolated, they don't beg for EU's attention and didn't forget who were the traitors with Kosovo.

  • FUCK USA ./. we do not needd your deomcracy .. FUCK USA leave SERBIA we will be happiest .. FUCK USA rot in HELL ..

  • most of you anti EU serbs live outside of the country probably in the EU or in the USA. You care about national identity yet you live outside your own country. Boris tadic is just trying to give serbs a slice of the EU life which you enjoy.

  • It's rather meaningless to point out a country is struggling economically or searching for political stabilty without at least some reference to how much of this is "home-grown" and how much of it is caused by the various antiSerb designs of most EU governments. What a novel idea, doubt I will see any attempt to address it by foreign media though.

  • The report fails to indicate that the antiSerb parties were forced to form a pro-EU/NATO coalition in an effort to present an image of unity that never existed during their reign in the past 8 years. It also fails to indicate that their grip on power was made possible through an alliance with Slobodan Milosevic's SPS. This is extremely important as NATO-land media have, among other lies, tried to link the Radical party with the murdered ex-President at every turn. Very shameless propaganda.

  • First part of report is a bad joke, especially the disclosure of hate mail and death threats from B-92. The station manager is very typical of DOS politicians who have constantly tried to manipulate public sympathy by disclosing claims about suffering hate mails which they "know" come from "nationalists".

Unfortunately for these persons attempting primitive tactics in public manipulation, their efforts always backfire, especially when SOB-stories are disclosed to foreign press.

  • I agree with you that the B-92 manipulates public opinions.

It has been a few weeks ago when Serbia lead by Tadic signed the assocation agreemant with the EU.

My comment was that I do not find it completely appropriate under the circumstances just shortly after the theft of Kosovo supported by EU. I mentioned it as sth as a bad job. My contribution was erased. We will see whether a repetition will take place.

For me it seems to be very sad to try to manipulate this very sensitive issue.

  • Once you joind the EU your heading down the road of loss of any National Identity.

That means your resources are in the hands of this WTO.

  • let Serbia be Serbia and Kosovo be Kosovo both with their own rights and sovereignty.

  • Say YES to EU and progress!

  • To this the Serbs must deliver the "Kosovo Je Serbia" fanatics a big rebuke cause the EU would provide a better future.

  • That idiot Clinton had us attack Serbia and for no good reason, too. [Sigh...] I wish our govt. would learn to avoid foreign entanglents, but it it's a good idea the govt. won't embrace it.

  • Many Brits and Irish are buying up Serbian beach and ski properties - Great prices!

  • Cha Cha, Serbian have not any beaches. Look at map

  • cvip - I realize things in that country change often - But currently my understanding is that Serbia now included Montenegro

Which gives it great access to the Adriatic Sea

    If not, I stand corrected

  • On 28 June 2006, Montenegro became the 192nd member state of the United Nations. It isnt in Serbia

  • No Montenegro is Independent country. So serbia has no access to SEA.

  • since when did they want to be 'friendly' with everyone ?

  • haha

  • say no to EU communism ?

  • Serbians, do yourselves a favor. Maintain your sovereignty, and save yourself from the pain of future separatism, by NOT joining the EU.

  • Future what??? Your comment, no offence, is so backward, inconclusive, and assanine all in one. Honestly, its like telling the US not to join NATO!!! FYI: the capitalized "NOT" makes you seem biased :P

You can't get more european than Serbia. It would boost their countries status around the world if they were to get in. I can understand why people cling to radical nationalist tho, they want a feirce leader that can defend their territorial integrity: KOSOVO. Thats the dividing issue!!!

  • I don't want the US in NATO either. Each country to look after itself. *Free* trade, free travel, and honest friendship with all - that's the sort of foreign policy every country should aim for, NOT surrendering your sovereignty to faceless bureaucrats in grey buildings in far-off countries. All these multinational entities like the EU, AU, NAU(coming soon), etc., will end in tears. Why not just avoid the pain, and maintain your sovereignty, from scratch?

And bias? It's called having an opinion

  • Haha..saying "NOT" sounds dictorial not oppinionated!!

Haha..if we didn't have multinational entities we would make war for the simple fact is that we would be suspicious and compete with each other. If both America and Russia weren't apart of the UN, if there was no UN, we would just about kill each other. Honestly..you and I both know it!!

  • Rubbish. It was multi-national, mutual-defense agreements that dragged America into WWII. Roosevelt couldn't goad the Germans into war in the Atlantic, so they devised a way to goad the Japanese into war in the Pacific. Because Japan had a mutual-defense agreement with Germany, war with Japan meant war with Germany, and voila! The US gets the war it wants with Germany. The cases of such are numerous. If the US weren't constantly fighting Israel's battles, there would be peace in the Middle East.

  • I see your point about sovereignty, but the interest in joining the EU is completely economic, right? How does your view account for the expected economic improvement of poor countries joining a bloc like the EU?

  • Strangers always offer lollies to the little girls, to get them in the car. Don't be tempted!
