Saw this coaster at Knott's but it wasn't running. Have since ridden it dozens of times over the years at Silverwood. Not much by todays standards but a classic, historic coaster all the same, and still fun to ride!
lol Sappy Story follows...from birth to age 19, I spent most of the time either sick at home or worse, and was growing up the classic fat-kid-scaredy-cat life, until I went with my dad to Knott's in, I'm thinking, 1977, for my 10th birthday. We rode the Corkscrew (my 1st coaster), and the Parachute Drop, and told me sick kids cant ride. Thx to him, I'm healthy, happy-ish, and have a coaste count of 154.
It's nice to see that it's still running, I grew up in Nashville where this coasters twin was also installed in 1975, The Wabash Cannonball which was in operation from 75 until the park closed in 1997. unfortunately the Cannonball was scrapped after sitting in a field for many years. I'll have to make a trip to Silverwood to ride this for old times sake.
not this one .. this was the prototype that arrow built at mt. view and then installed at knott's.. it's not much these days , but it was a HUGE deal when it opened as it was the very very first to open ..
Perfect for kids but to short.,
