This officer may have a wife and children. He may have left work that morning to go and do his job his duty which he swore an oath to do. These are human beings under that uniform. Some of the sick comments on here are just that - sick. Whether you have had a bad experience with the police or not does not condone this officer coming to harm. They are not all perfect but they are there to protect and by and large they do a good job under extreme stress and sometimes provocation.

@0cache CCTV and ANPR's i can partially agree. Face recognition would have no effect to the average Joe as the police are not allowed to keep a file of someone's who's never been arrested before. That's why the compulsory ID card idea was thrown out. Also, the authorisation of Section 44 of the Terrorism Act has actually been removed due to the public complaining about the use.

For those that see things every day, that it takes most a life of therapy to get over. They may be hardasses some times, but in that line of work you have to be. I've seen far more idiot police officers in real life than on the news. Police are still human, their natural tastes and character depicts how they treat people. If i meet a policeman that's my age and has similar interests he's going to be light hearted on the situtation such as dropping litter.
