So basically strobes are not suppose to be placed in rooms where people sleep? I know Ive been to motels iwith modern fire alarms but a small speaker or chime signal was in the rooms and the strobes were all outside of the rooms. I thought fire code regulations were the same as classrooms for hotel rooms where a strobe alone is in the room. But turns out not.
It's missing the slow whoop part of the message, or code 3 tone depending on what it's programmed for. It's quite obviously a Simplex voice evac system.
Running would just cause more confusion and possibly accidents and complications in fact Simplex has another message that goes "Attention Your attention please an emergency condition has been confirmed in the area you are requested to leave the building use the stairways and marked exits only do not use the elevators do not use the elevators. Move quickly and quietly. do not run DO NOT RUN!"
Actually, it's either a 4902-9705 (25v - most likely to be) or a -9706 (70v). And I agree w/ the slow whoop being absent, that really makes it less wimpy...
@weatherdan882002 We don't know whether or not it has a slow whoop as the video was caught during the voice announcement. Usually when the fire alarm is triggered it sounds the tones for 2-3 rounds then the message plays between 1-3 times and then the tones either go of continuously until it's silenced or they will go off for so many rounds then the voice plays again depending on the programming.
I had the same alarm sound in the dorms at my college. What you didn't hear was the "whoop" siren noise that sounds twice before the announcement and then continuously afterward. That makes it seem a little less "wimpy", though it's still less intense than a bell or horn.
It says DSi

Where's the whoop lol.
trevordon1021 1 year ago
@trevordon1021 It was probably before or after the message, sometimes the voice plays like 5 times, then does the siren like 5 times.
