I'm a centrist. I tend to shy away from extremes, but I think the world needs powerful debate from both sides. Errors happen in science continuously. The claim there hasn't been warming in 15 years is debated. So far looking at everything I can find from both sides I'm still compelled to accept the global climate change hypothesis.

I'll certainly agree with you that the burden of proof is on proponents of the theory. The thing is...I'm not one of them. I'm what you call an adherent. It just makes sense to me now. Since I first heard of the concept I've changed my mind several times. Part of it is that there IS faulty and questionable data. I also don't see what sense cap and trade makes. Seems a little bullshitty to me. I just like to hear peoples' reasons for what they think whether I agree with them or not.

I live in an area where there were thousands of textile jobs. They made dress slacks, socks, t-shirts, yarn, denim jeans, etc. They were non-union but paid good wages to keep the unions out. They closed down and moved overseas or to Mexico. You would think the clothing coming from those slave wage countries would cost less. In fact, they cost more. The owners weren't happy with 100% profit, they wanted 300%. And those jobs were replaced by minimum wage dead end employment. The Dream is Dead!

I thought it was old news that the Amazon rain forest isn't disappearing. The presence of weak scientists among excellent ones in a worldwide debate does not automatically move me to the opposing side any more than Rush Limbaugh automatically makes me side with Democrats.
Errors happen in science continuously. The claim there hasn't been warming in 15 years is debated. So far looking at everything I can find from both sides I'm still compelled to accept the global climate change hypothesis.

Well now my eyes are opened. Why didn't I see it before.
A politician did a movie about a topic using outdated and selective data; so, anyone who accepts climate change must be basing their opinion on that. Plus! you called him anal retentive with his name in the middle in tall man lettering.
I'm convinced that you know more than I do and will no longer bother you with pesky questions.

I'll certainly agree with you that the burden of proof is on proponents of the theory. The thing is...I'm not one of them. I'm what you call an adherent. It just makes sense to me now. Since I first heard of the concept I've changed my mind several times. Part of it is that there IS faulty and questionable data. I also don't see what sense cap and trade makes. Seems a little bullshitty to me. I just like to hear peoples' reasons for what they think whether I agree with them or not.

I certainly wouldn't ask you to "prove" your rejection of the claim. However, it is useful to me to understand others' reasons for rejecting claims. Sometimes it leads me to reject the claim myself. Sometimes not. :)

I'm pretty bothered by that too. Gore pisses me off because he brings the same propaganda half truth overstatements that bother me. Politics and science don't mix. Dr. Phil Jones pisses me off, because he did act directly antithetical to peer reviewed processes. I think I'm gonna take another look through, because I wasn't under the impression that the CRU was the only place the IPCC was getting it's data from. If it was, I'll have to reconsider my view.

@t3tsuyaguy1 That is the point I was trying to make...all the panty wetting going on at the UN and their IPCC was based solely on the CRU 'data' and conclusions....things like Michael Mann's 'hockey stick' graph which even a 12th grader could see is bogus...reality is simply never that neat...not to mention that they all libeled and slandered any scientist who dared to question them..claiming they worked for the oil companies etc...they drew to an inside straight and they 'bogused up'

armerigross, I hope your health insurance is paid up. Sounds like you are about to pop a gasket. Is that a pre-existing condition? Popped Gaskets are pretty apparent to the insurance adjuster you have to see before you go to get your gaskets unpopped. Check yourself, do you have a red face, or a red nose, are your veins standing out in the neck, breath heavily, heart racing, there slobber in the corners of your mouth, does your head hurt? Any or all of these can indicate a popped gasket.

I guess they left history out of the books you studied in school. And you have probably never watched any of the documentaries about FDR. Henry Ford went to Germany and showed Hitler how to build assembly lines. Ford treated his workers like slaves. You can deny it all you want, but the truth is FDR fought the Republicans and won. Now all we have to do is convince Obama to do the same thing without letting the Republicans start a WWIII against Muslims just because they dress different.

There is much more proof the federal government has done more damage to this country than any companies have. For instance, forcing banks to loan to people that have bad credit or weren't capable of repaying the loans.

I wish I could read the Koran in Arabic and with understanding. I understand it is a magical document that reads the same frontwards and backwards, and rhymes. It is used in some universities as literature and is an easy read.
The hadiths are bullshit, but the Koran is pretty good, until the very end. Mohammed himself said "When I speak for Allah, I am speaking for Allah" When I speak as Mohammed, I am only speaking for a common man.

I am so glad that Obama is realizing that we DESPERATLY are in need of Healthcare reform!!!! My sister got a mail from her insurance company saying hers rates are going up 22%. Me, I have no insurance, and cannot afford to buy it. When I had insurance last year, paying premiums was a waste!! I was denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition!! Please, Obama if the do nothin repubs refuse to work with you, then give us reform without their help!!!!
