'God' will always have a place in politics because god sways voters to vote in favor of those who give the impression that god will guide them. Name a presidential candidate who had a serious shot at winning who didn't make a point of proclaiming their belief in god.
If religion is used to violate human rights, such as denying birth control and abortion to women, as well as reversing women's sexual and reproductive rights by The Christian Right, then society would be thrown in chaos. Violence in the name of religion is unacceptable.
Thank dog that fat fuck Jerry Falwell's heart exploded from all the fat that was in his pinhead. The world is a safer and better place because he is rotting in the ground.
its ridiculous that this man actually thinks that b/c of our "moral stand" we were attacked on 9/11...the connection is almost sad to hear...this is not what the Bible says...
@CrazyM518 If you study the terrorist organizations, they hate us not only because our country has denied to recognize Muhammad as Allah's Messenger, but also for the fact that we're secular. They say that if we "acted more like the People of the Book [Christians and Jews]," they would be less harsh on us (but they'd still want to slaughter us).
I just remembered; thanks CNN (for once). Now that the government's all hyped up about 'ecoterrorists', why don't they get hyped up about abortion clinic bombers? Every time I've ever gone into a clinic that provides family planning services, I have to get buzzed in through a series of doors. There is usually bulletproof glass. I'd like to see "abortion radicals" watchlisted like "peace radicals"... I should know; after protesting war/Inside Jobiness of 9/11 I am now on the Selectee List.
it is unfortunate and counterproductive when the extremists bombed the abortion clinics, a true Christian duty would be to preach that it is wrong but we have no business FORCING anybody not to sin. Jesus did not do it and true Christians should know better not to do so as well. Preaching against sin and committing sin is not hypocrisy, it merely confirms what the Bible says... No one is perfect and without sin.
Thats exactly how Muslims see it as well, in relation to suicide bombings and other acts they carry out. Its a big set back, and while a very small minority do it, the way the media covers it makes one think that it is everywhere.
I could be wrong but it could be that they are taking advantage of the muslim extremists as a scapegoat for their agenda towards the road to Martial Law in this country. Guess we will find out by November of this year.
Thank you. If you invade a country that is mostly Muslim, chances are that most of the people that fight back will be Muslim. It's scary that this level of logic is lost on most people.
These people knew Obama would be "elected"... who was going to vote for 4 more years? As a Muslim, I find it sinister/suspect that 'they' would spend so much time painting Obama as a closet Muslim. 9/11 was an inside job and these bastards will do it again and probably blame him. Another Holocaust, anyone?
The Qur'an, in at least THREE PLACES forbids suicide.
The fact that the media has so successfully connected Islam/suicide bombing in the minds of the masses is a perfect example of the power of propaganda.
indominatus - well then keep it to yourself. You think no one is perfect because your definition of perfection is one that is looking at perfection as the absense of imperfection. Yet his is just perception. There are many things in this world that appear inperfect that others say are perfect.
Religion is the cause of many wars and Christianity is part of that too
heh. Religion is just like any other weapon...it can be used as a scapegoat for ulterior motives, and abused by misguided individuals -- ultimately it is MAN who you should say is the cause of many wars for his greed, pride and insanity. Even without religion man would still find reasons and excuses to blow themselves up.
it drives me mad that these "christians" are so obsessed with abortion yet you never see them get so upset or energised about poverty or peace two huge themes in the New Testement also where was gods shield of protection when pearl harbour happend? there was no legal abortion then
@ophilsan
When? Never. That's when.

Why do suicide bombers shout "Allahu Akbar".
Why do Middlle East terrorist groups often put "islam" in there names? (example: Fatah al-Islam)
When you pretend terrorism has nothing to do with religion you help terrorism...you help terrorist kill innocent people!
