@Odinsgade thanks mate! Might do that. Yet you would need a 6 string...the ones that are lucky (or stupid :) enough to own a six string most propably have tommy all sorted out anyways...
@munichbassa Why is it stupid to own a six string bass? I play in a Blues group and disspite that more mellow nature of the genra I still can find a use for all 6 of my bass strings.. and yes i do have tommy the cat all sorted out by the way. lol
@funkyplayer4212 lol, no no, i love my six'er! was just a reminiscence of the good ol' "you can play fine music with a broom that is strung with a washing line too"-mentality. No offense!
and, hey Odinsgade; there you go: QED, no tutorial needed :)!
Nobody is going to play like Les but Les... Plain and simple. But CT's are special; People who own, or who have spent considerable time with them, know... I suggest you play one, see what it does for your playing style, and then forge your own opinion... Does everybody who owns a Fender Jazz want to be Geddy? Does owning a P-Bass make me a Jamerson wannabee? Do Wal owners want to be Justin Chancellor? Do Alembic owners want to be Stanley? Do Fodera owners want to be Victor? and on and on...
@MrSttelnoj ouch. Yet i think theres more to carls work than allowing people to pretend they're Les. I myself try to play claypool-riffs because that's what i do for practise: Learning from the best. cheers, thanks for watching
@munichbassa hes got it all backwards, people get CTs cause theyre amazing, but you are compelled to play some les lines because its the only bass in the world that can get the tone just right
@MrSttelnoj Or maybe they heard les' tone and loved it and wanted it for their own. Or maybe theyt just thought that CTs basses sound and look bloody amazing.
Wrong, Carl's basses are all around great instruments, and I'm sure you'll find most of the people who buy his basses to be Jazz enthusiasts and the like. Sure everyone likes to play Tommy the Cat on a 6 String CT.....but is that really enough of an excuse for you to be a self assuming prick? Nope
How can I get this tone? like bass, treble, mid settings and pickups settings

@MrSttelnoj just because you are jealous doesn't mean you have to pretend that it is in some way a bad thing for this guy to own an amazing bass
