To all you commenting about auto tune, Auto tune was designed to help edit vocals. It's for pitch correction. Roger Troutman former lead singer of Zapp used something similar to it. T-pain used it to correct his vocals in efforts to sell songs to Akon, an A&R convinced him to record those songs using Auto-tune for himself. Terrible rappers like the atlanta rapper Future, and a few others can't rap or sing, they use it to enhance whatever their trying to sell. That's what Jay-z was saing in DOA

A talk box is hardware Auto-tune is software but there is hard ware out their that still does it. Research talk box and Auto tune and you will see the talk box do many of the same thing that Auto tTune does.

And all it is is an EFFECT. To say they "stole" it from anyone is to say anyone who uses delay, reverb and compression STOLE that too.
